The following report is by The Daily Caller:
Notable universities such as George Mason and Temple have seen aspiring engineering and pre-med students struggle with introductory algebra, Fox News reported. Many students a have been placed into “pre-college math” in hopes that they will gain the skills necessary to continue to introductory calculus.
George Mason University has seen a significant number of students drop math classes after not being able to keep pace with the coursework. To strengthen students’ mathematical foundations, the university has started a week-long Math Bootcamp.
This is a huge issue. We’re talking about college-level pre-calculus and calculus classes, and students cannot even add one-half and one-third.
Maria Emelianenko, who chairs the George Mason University math department, told The Associated Press,
Some students agree that the pandemic stymied their ability to learn basic mathematics.
I didn’t have a hands-on, in-person class, and the information wasn’t really there. I really struggled when it came to higher-level algebra because I just didn’t know anything.
Said Diego Fonseca, a 19-year-old student at George Mason, according to Fox.
Jessica Babcock, a Temple University math professor, said that the severity of the problem became apparent when she realized many of her students were incapable of doing rudimentary algebra problems. An intro quiz, which Babcock described as an “easy grade,” asked students to calculate problems such as negative six minus eight, but she found that “[n]o two papers had the same answer, and none of them were correct,” according to Fox. “It was a striking moment of, like, wow — this is significant and deep,” she added, per the outlet.
Temple has restructured their algebra course to meet the new challenge.
We really want students to feel like they’re part of their learning. We can’t change their preparation coming in, but we can work to meet their needs in the best way possible.
Babcock said, according to Fox.

Train up a child in the way he should go: and when he is old, he will not depart from it.
Proverbs 22:6
The detrimental effects the Covid lockdowns, masking, social distancing, and other draconian protocols have created are incalculable; and I have noted in other reports how children can barely do any real basic skills at this point. And we see it when we go to the stores, as employees and staff across the board are just docile vegetables at this point, and who have given up on life and are just trudging by day by day.

[7] Who goeth a warfare any time at his own charges? who planteth a vineyard, and eateth not of the fruit thereof? or who feedeth a flock, and eateth not of the milk of the flock? [8] Say I these things as a man? or saith not the law the same also? [9] For it is written in the law of Moses, Thou shalt not muzzle the mouth of the ox that treadeth out the corn. Doth God take care for oxen? [10] Or saith he it altogether for our sakes? For our sakes, no doubt, this is written: that he that ploweth should plow in hope; and that he that thresheth in hope should be partaker of his hope. (1 Corinthians 9:7-10).

Saw that one coming. Strategy to attack homeschooling & get children back under surveillance & propaganda, grooming & politicizing while naming their price & getting paid to do it. c-word is ‘useful’ in so many ways….but God. Businesses can’t find anyone to hire who are qualified, though, and as our infrastructure falls apart: and those people were public schooled. It’s not like they’re all two years old! Who can trust their ‘testing’? Even before we understood a lot of this, & when we were homeschooling….the arbitrary nature of those standardized tests was apparent.
The woman with an education degree who did our testing was often flabbergasted by the types of questions having nothing to do with skill or even related to the subject mastery they were supposedly testing. We didn’t rely on those tests to tell us what was mastered academically, but what we could see in application & our own testing.

Another part of the problem is that people who can have fled jobs where they bring in their upper caste/nicolaitan you-a-serf/slave international corporate head attitudes &/or their pervert speech codes, psych-sorcery nonsense playing around with peoples’ heads & Jezebel witch OSHA women who get high off the ‘power’….not permitting the free exercise of true religion etc. They want everybody to be a lying pervert who’s either an ‘ascending god/les perfectibles’ or a slave: or dead.
