“We will see smaller populations in high-income countries going forward. It’s just going to be a trend of the 21st century and that will actually be good for general overall overconsumption that we have at the moment and our planet,” she said.

As birthrates continue their steady decline across Western nations since 2020, one professor sees this as a good thing. Professor Sarah Harper, the founder and director of the Oxford Institute of Population Ageing, and a member of the Global Agenda Council on Ageing Societies of the World Economic Forum.

As reported by The Telegraph, recently released data claims that the number of births dropped to a 20-year low; with the Office for National Statistics (ONS) reporting 605,479 live births in England and Wales in 2022, the lowest number since 2002. The total was down 3.1% from the year previous.

The ONS added in their report: “In 2022, India replaced Romania as the most common country of birth for non-UK-born mothers, and Pakistan as the most common country of birth for non-UK-born fathers.”

Harper, in a statement to The Telegraph, views this as a good thing:

I think it’s a good thing that the high-income, high-consuming countries of the world are reducing the number of children that they’re having. I’m quite positive about that.

She went on to note that declining fertility rates in developed countries would help to address the “general overconsumption that we have at the moment”, which she says has a negative impact on Earth. Harper said that this decline was “inevitable.”

We will see smaller populations in high-income countries going forward. It’s just going to be a trend of the 21st century and that will actually be good for general overall overconsumption that we have at the moment and our planet.

Last month U.S. Vice President Kamala Harris explicitly said that we need to “reduce [the] population” at a climate forum.

Lo, children are an heritage of the LORD: and the fruit of the womb is his reward.

Psalm 127:3

Only someone that hates God and “worships the creature more than the Creator” (Romans 1:25) would cheerlead declining birthrates; but we of course that that is what these evil leaders in “high places” (Ephesians 6:12) want to have happen, and it is.

I have pointed out many times before that these eco-warriors and other snobby elitists have repeatedly called for a thinning-out of the population. They will be getting their wish here soon enough with the way things are moving…

[7] Who goeth a warfare any time at his own charges? who planteth a vineyard, and eateth not of the fruit thereof? or who feedeth a flock, and eateth not of the milk of the flock? [8] Say I these things as a man? or saith not the law the same also? [9] For it is written in the law of Moses, Thou shalt not muzzle the mouth of the ox that treadeth out the corn. Doth God take care for oxen? [10] Or saith he it altogether for our sakes? For our sakes, no doubt, this is written: that he that ploweth should plow in hope; and that he that thresheth in hope should be partaker of his hope. (1 Corinthians 9:7-10).
