The list of appliances and home essentials the Biden administration are targeting continues to grow, now setting their sights on water heaters and potentially slapping new regulations on them in the name of fighting climate change.

This past Friday the U.S. Department of Energy (DoE) released new home energy proposals touted as being more energy efficient and money-saving for Americans, by $11.4 billion on electric and water bills annually as a whole.

The DoE basically wants to phase-out and replace the gas and oil-fueled heaters with electric ones.

The proposal would require the most common-sized electric water heaters to achieve efficiency gains with heat pump technology and gas-fired instantaneous water heaters to achieve efficiency gains through condensing technology.

The DoE explained in a press release

‘Replacing common-sized traditional electric resistance storage water heaters with electric heat pump water heaters meeting the proposed levels would save consumers $1,868 on average over the life of the appliance, with savings even higher for renters and low-income households who spend a higher percentage of their income on utility bills,’ the DoE added.

If accepted, however, the new standards would officially take effect by 2029; which the DoE says will ‘reduce 501 million metric tons of harmful carbon dioxide emissions cumulatively over 30 years.’

Today’s actions—together with our industry partners and stakeholders—improve outdated efficiency standards for common household appliances, which is essential to slashing utility bills for American families and cutting harmful carbon emissions.

This proposal reinforces the trajectory of consumer savings that forms the key pillar of Bidenomics and builds on the unprecedented actions already taken by this Administration to lower energy costs for working families across the nation.

U.S. Secretary of Energy Jennifer M. Granholm, said

The DoE noted this is currently the 18th item and appliance they have addressed this year so far.

The Biden administration has been going after things like portable generators, which, if the proposals are accepted, would eliminate 95% of all those currently sold on the market today; which is on top of the White House calls to eliminate gas and oil-powered cooktops will all-electric ones, The WinePress has reported.

AUTHOR COMMENTARY

When the righteous are in authority, the people rejoice: but when the wicked beareth rule, the people mourn.

Proverbs 29:2

It of course will go without saying that this will cost more for Americans, something Fox News has pointed out. Anytime the government says something will save you money, we all know the polar opposite is true.

But the other aspect to this is, once again, more control. The electrification everything is the goal of these elites and technocrats, because they can more easily mitigate and control people, forcibly manipulating the controls to whatever they want it to be on a whim. Maybe not at first, but overtime that is precisely how it will play out.

Converting to electric water heaters is a key tenet of the Absolute Zero goals by 2030:

[By 2030], Electric heat pumps replace gas boilers, and building retrofits (air tightness, insulation and external shading) expand rapidly. [By 2050], Program to provide all interior heat with heat pumps and energy retrofits for all buildings.

Gas cookers phased out rapidly in favor of electric hobs and ovens. Fridges, freezers and washing machines become smaller [by 2030]. Electrification of all appliances and reduction in size to cut power requirement [by 2050].

[7] Who goeth a warfare any time at his own charges? who planteth a vineyard, and eateth not of the fruit thereof? or who feedeth a flock, and eateth not of the milk of the flock? [8] Say I these things as a man? or saith not the law the same also? [9] For it is written in the law of Moses, Thou shalt not muzzle the mouth of the ox that treadeth out the corn. Doth God take care for oxen? [10] Or saith he it altogether for our sakes? For our sakes, no doubt, this is written: that he that ploweth should plow in hope; and that he that thresheth in hope should be partaker of his hope. (1 Corinthians 9:7-10).
