Swedish biometric firm Fingerpint Cards (a.k.a. Fingerprints) recently bragged that they have become the first such company to join the World Economic Forum’s (WEF) newest New Champions Community, a subsidiary group consisting of mid-sized businesses.
In their press release published in June 12th, the firm stated: ‘Recognized as a market leader in the development of biometric solutions in smartphones, payments, PC and access control, Fingerprints will utilize its membership to share knowledge about how biometric technology can help implement intuitive solutions to make users’ authentication more convenient and more secure as well as to improve social inclusion in the digital world.’
Charles Burgeat, Senior Vice President of Strategy at Fingerprints, said in a statement:
As a proud member of the WEF New Champions Community program, we want to be recognized as a purpose-driven company that contributes positively to the changes needed to operate in the new digitalized world.
By joining this Community, we look forward to brainstorming and exchanging ideas with peers, and bring our expertise of the biometrics industry.
Fingerprints boasts they are they possess the #1 capacitive fingerprint touch sensor. ‘Our touch technology consists of biometric sensors, modules, processors, software and algorithms, that can be used separately or in combination,’ the company claims. The firm also provides facial recognition and iris-scanning technology that operates at fast speeds.
Julia Devos, Head of New Champions Community program at the World Economic Forum, also added in a statement:
We extend a warm welcome to Fingerprints as they join our New Champions program at the World Economic Forum and the other mission-driven mid-size companies who are part of this group.

The WEF’s Community claims they “are an international platform providing you with the visibility, network and knowledge needed to drive change globally, grow your business and increase your influence.” Joining the Community offers newer connections, collaborations, visibility, added credibility, deeper insights to grow the company, and provides “a platform for influencing policy and driving change on a global scale.”
