The BBC follows the story of Sara Stewart, an 18 year-old college student in Los Angeles, California. Ms. Stewart takes a stroll down to a Mexican restaurant to pay for her meal. Instead of handing over cash or card, an LCD screen scans her face, and the transaction is complete.

I feel like technology is moving so fast that people don’t even think twice about using something like this.

Our phones already read our faces, and our faces are already all over the internet, so I don’t think it really makes much of a difference [to someone’s security]. It’s faster, more convenient, and safer… and you don’t have to worry about leaving your phone or cards at home.

Sara Stewart

Stewart was able to accomplish her transaction through a U.S. startup company called PopID.

The way it works is the user simply creates an account on their website and uploads a photo of his or hers face, which is stored in the global cloud network. The user then links their bank account to their account.

The user also has the option to use hand gestures and signals for things such as tipping. Stewart gestures a thumbs up for 10%, the peace sign for 15%, and the “hang loose” sign for 25%.

PopID has been adopted by about 70 independent restaurants across different cities primarily along the West Coast.

Our view is that using your face to pay is no different [than using your phone]. It’s just another way to identify yourself. The [digital] picture [taken at point of sale] is destroyed immediately, and the data isn’t shared with anyone.

John Miller. Chief Executive of PopID

Miller conveys this technology is much less intrusive than a smartphone because of the phone’s GPS tracking integrated into the phone. Additionally, the photos stored by PopID are mathematical maps of unique facial vectors, not actual photographs.

At this time, users must lower their facemask for the service to properly work. The company is working to improve the technology so that will not be an issue in the future.

The BBC article goes onto to refer to similar technologies being utilized in China. The Covid crisis is cited for helping to further usher in this type of technology.

The experience of Covid was huge in China in terms of bringing people into facial recognition systems.

Wang Bing. Luoyang Vocational College of Science and Technology

He says the technology is so advanced and accurate, the cameras cannot be tricked with just a mere picture – that it can precisely identify the differences between identical twins.

AUTHOR COMMENTARY

[16] And he causeth all, both small and great, rich and poor, free and bond, to receive a mark in their right hand, or in their foreheads: [17] And that no man might buy or sell, save he that had the mark, or the name of the beast, or the number of his name. [18] Here is wisdom. Let him that hath understanding count the number of the beast: for it is the number of a man; and his number is Six hundred threescore and six.

Revelation 13:16-18
[1] And you hath he quickened, who were dead in trespasses and sins; [2] Wherein in time past ye walked according to the course of this world, according to the prince of the power of the air, the spirit that now worketh in the children of disobedience: [3] Among whom also we all had our conversation in times past in the lusts of our flesh, fulfilling the desires of the flesh and of the mind; and were by nature the children of wrath, even as others.

Ephesians 2:1-3

What that Chinese man said is precisely what The WinePress has been reporting on: Covid-19 is just a front (one of them) to crash the world economies and currencies to further implement the mark of the beast technologies.

What is being described here with PopID is certainly not the final product, but we are all that much closer now. The spirit in these people are not able to create the final design yet. What I mean is, it is not God’s timing for the actual mark of the beast system to be implemented; but he is allowing Satan to more and more advance this agenda.

PopID is certainly not the first of its kind or the last either.
