The Sims series is a life simulation game, sometimes referred to as a “God simulator” by some in the industry, allowing players to create characters and avatars, build homes, neighborhoods, build careers and skills, and simulate a cartoonish parody of life. Customers can then later purchase expansion packs and downloadable content to add more gameplay later on.
According to the developers, the PC update will include new customization options to play as a transgender.
Under the same Body category, all players can find a Body Scars category with an option for Teen and older male Sims (masculine or feminine frame) to add a Top Surgery Scar to their Sims.
With this update, players can find two new assets in Create a Sim. Under the Tanks, in the Tops category, you will find a Binder top asset for your Teen and older Sims. In the Underwear category for Bottoms, there is a new shapewear asset for your Sims as well!
Furthermore, things like “medical wearables” have been added to the game to allow players to play their sims with disabilities.
Select the Sims face and then select Accessories to find the Medical Wearables category that contains a new hearing aid for your Toddler or older Sims. This medical wearable comes in fifteen color variants, and can be assigned to your Sims right, left or both ears.
The Medical Wearables category can also be found by selecting the Sims body and then selecting the Body category. Here you can find Glucose Monitors for your Child and older Sims that can be added to your Sims right and left arm, and to your Sims lower abdomen on the right or left side as well.
The game’s official Twitter page also announced the update, which has since received millions of views.
Many tweeted their excitement over this announcement. The gaming giant Xbox replied with, “Vadish, we love it! ♥” – which sparked a string of people expressing their frustration and disgust with the company.
One person tweeted in all caps: “I finally get to see myself in game.”
“Top surgery scars and binders?! That’s so cool. So happy more representation is being added to the game,” tweeted another.
Since the base game released in 2013, the Sims 4 has continued to increasingly be more and more inclusive, adding more gameplay tailored to the LGTBQIA+ community.
But these updates have had their own share of controversy, however.
Last year countries like Russia sought to really crackdown on marketing and advertising that features LGTBQIA+ things in it. At the same time The Sims 4 was set to launch one of their latest expansions called “My Wedding Stories,” that featured two lesbian protagonists who could get married in the game. EA debated not publishing the trailer in Russia or altering the commercial to remove the sodomy, but ultimately decided to push the trailer as is.
It’s equally important for us to stand by our values, including standing against homophobia, and to share stories like this with those who want and need it most. Love is love, and The Sims community will continue to be a safe space for those who want to see a world where that is true for everyone. EA said in a statement
In a pinned comment on the trailer, the team said that “We want the entire Sims community to be able to celebrate together, so we’ve pushed the global release of “My Wedding Stories” to February 23 – including in Russia ❤️.”
Since then, however, by the end of the year Russia officially banned any and all LGTBQIA+ things in advertising and media, whilst banning gay marriage. Those who disobey will face hefty fines.
Chairman of the State Duma Vyacheslav Volodin said in a statement:
The decision will help protect our children, the future of the country from the darkness spread by the United States and European states. We have our own traditions and values.
There is no need to impose alien values on us. You destroyed yours – let’s see how it all ends, but it’s definitely sad, because it’s a Sodom – there’s no other way to say it – and the United States of America has become the center of this Sodom in the world. Let them live there, but don’t bother us.
Months prior to this being codified into law, Russian President Vladimir Putin also blasted the United States’ pro-sodomy ideologies.

Even though The Sims is still a niche market, it still has a lot of active players and fans. But that’s besides the point. The fact that this is allowed to be proliferated at all only adds to how far America and the West have fallen, and how God’s judgment will be that all more severe.

I used to play a ton of Sims 3 on my old computer a long time ago, and then I got into the more mainstream video games. I’m just so glad that the LORD gave me victory of the SIN of video games; haven’t touched one since mid 2020 (I got saved late 2019) and I don’t plan on ever touching one again. Garbage like that robbed me of SO MUCH time, as I was a SEVERE video game addict for 10+ years.

I used to play zoo tycoon and another one to build amusement parks, I forgot the name. Not much sim. Though those games didn’t include violence, they were such a waste of time.

Ah. I remember that one. I remember playing the Sea World edition of Zoo Tycoon. The amount of time and money I wasted on games is just incredible looking back on it.
EA used to make good quality video games back in the day, now they are all about micro-transactions and promoting what people would call SJW narratives. Very wicked company so to speak. Admittedly I liked the Sims 3 back in my high-school years, but when the Sims 4 came out and I saw the whole sodomite agenda within the game, I rushed right out of the game and uninstalled.
The thing about video games is that very few gamers can just play the occasional hour or so and leave it at that, it turns into a everyday multi-hour event, causing people to miss out on sleep, family, work, and other important parts of life. And when I say very few, I mean something like .001% of all gamers, so don’t even try it.
Add to the fact that we Christians are supposed to be spending our time in studies, prayer, worship, and in some form ministry, spending any time in video games is a very bad idea. There’s just no time! Plus, even a lot of the video games that appear to be safe and clean to play have a lot of hidden issues with-in them. Not only that, but most Christians wouldn’t stick to these clean games if they found them, they’d fall for the temptation of more wicked video games.
I used to play Neverwinter Nights. Evil game, it has spellcasting and other wicked things in it. Very time consuming and stressful.
Supposedly, video games that have monsters or animals groaning or yelping in pain when you kill them, are actually real sounds that are recorded and combined by actually hurting real animals to get those authentic sound effects.
Oh my goodness! That is evil! Hurting animals for real for more authentic sounds?
I hope the video game industry crashes for that!
This is so disgusting. I used to play this for hours a loooong time ago on the computer when the first Sims came out (yes, I’m old) my my things have changed. I remember the worst thing that could happen then, was if your Sim left a plate on the counter too long flies would start buzzing around it.
Many of the mods you can add to the games nowadays are far more perverse than what EA does. It’s horrible.
