As more children in the United States continue to become grossly overweight and obese, the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention released updated charts for their body mass index last week.
The BMI boils down to set of arbitrary numbers and age rankings based largely upon weight divided by height.
As CNBC explains, ‘For adults, a healthy BMI runs from 18.5 to 24.9, or 111 lbs. to about 150 lbs. for someone who is 5′5″. At 5′10″, a healthy BMI runs between 129 lbs. and 175 lbs. For adults ages 20 and older, a BMI of 30 and above is considered obese.’
The old chart stopped at rating of 37, but the updated ones now extend all the way to 60, measuring if it falls within ‘healthy’ parameters versus other healthy children in the same age bracket.
Prior to today’s release, the growth charts did not extend high enough to plot BMI for the increasing number of children with severe obesity.
Dr. Karen Hacker, director of the CDC’s National Center for Chronic Disease Prevention and Health Promotion, said
The old charts will still be used for children who are non-obese.
‘Obesity for children is defined as a BMI that is higher than 95% of kids of the same age and gender, according to the CDC. Severe obesity is a BMI that is 120% higher than the 95th percentile,’ CNBC added.
The WinePress has previously reported on the severity of the obesity crisis in America, especially since the lockdowns in 2020.

The merciful man doeth good to his own soul: but he that is cruel troubleth his own flesh.
Proverbs 11:17
The old saying goes, “you are what you eat.” And this country is big time pig time. This population are full of loathsome Oompa Loompas that have been living in the lap of perceived luxury for far-far too long.
The BMI is a bit of a joke. It is not all that accurate. I remember they judged us with this test throughout grade school. And while I certainly was overweight, I had other friends that just had bigger builds by nature and we deemed overweight. It’s silly. Nevertheless, this change in the chart represents just how out of control it has gotten.
[7] Who goeth a warfare any time at his own charges? who planteth a vineyard, and eateth not of the fruit thereof? or who feedeth a flock, and eateth not of the milk of the flock? [8] Say I these things as a man? or saith not the law the same also? [9] For it is written in the law of Moses, Thou shalt not muzzle the mouth of the ox that treadeth out the corn. Doth God take care for oxen? [10] Or saith he it altogether for our sakes? For our sakes, no doubt, this is written: that he that ploweth should plow in hope; and that he that thresheth in hope should be partaker of his hope. (1 Corinthians 9:7-10).

Obesity is off the rails! Americans run to fast food, deep fried foods, and sweets and sugar of all sorts on a day to day basis like pigs to a feeding trough!
If you set a cake or a pie or a box of donuts down and walk away, look out because some glutton is going to gorge on it after circling it like a vulture over a carcass!
Bariatrics is costing the taxpayers (i.e., us) billions of dollars as they’re having to reinforce floors, elevators, make wider doors wide enough for a Ford super duty to drive through, and making specially built ambulances and stretchers that can take seven times my weight or your weight!
And the church buildings with those (clears throat) “christians” they love their potlucks and their bake sales, the hirelings love to stuff their faces! Philippians 3:19 saying “whose god is their belly” that’s a beautiful comeback to these phony fake christian fatties!
