Britain’s National Grid ESO announced today that they will be refiring two coals plants to try and make up for the lacking energy supply in the country this winter.
We’ve issued a notification to warm two winter contingency coal units. This measure should give the public confidence in Monday’s energy supply.
This notification is not confirmation that these units will be used on Monday, but that they will be available to the ESO, if required.
The ESO as a prudent system operator has these tools for additional contingency to operate the network as normal and the public should continue to use energy as normal.

However, 8 hours ago (from the time of this publication) the power grid company then made this announcement:
The ESO can confirm that it has now stood down these coal units as there is adequate available contingency for this evening.
So it appears that after making this initial promise, the grid company will not be doing that, as there are reports that this week in the United Kingdom are forecast to be cold ones.
Current News wrote: ‘With the snow and cold weather across Britain, along with low wind generation, today marks the biggest challenge for the grid so far this season. Day Ahead prices surged to a record high of £2585.8/MWh for the evening peak as a result.’
‘Beyond these actions, which include emergency assistance from other system operators via interconnectors and the use of the DFS, the operator will have to turn to ‘Emergency Actions’ to protect the grid. This could include rolling blackouts,’ Current added.

Other nations such as Poland rely heavily on coal, and since that is in short supply and grossly inflated this winter due to Russian sanctions, some homes are now burning trash to stay warm.

‘Nope. Our overloads ordered that you Brits must freeze and shiver: we gotta stay on the green course!’
Just more false promises and false hope.
[21] As coals are to burning coals, and wood to fire; so is a contentious man to kindle strife. [22] The words of a talebearer are as wounds, and they go down into the innermost parts of the belly.
Proverbs 26:21-22
[7] Who goeth a warfare any time at his own charges? who planteth a vineyard, and eateth not of the fruit thereof? or who feedeth a flock, and eateth not of the milk of the flock? [8] Say I these things as a man? or saith not the law the same also? [9] For it is written in the law of Moses, Thou shalt not muzzle the mouth of the ox that treadeth out the corn. Doth God take care for oxen? [10] Or saith he it altogether for our sakes? For our sakes, no doubt, this is written: that he that ploweth should plow in hope; and that he that thresheth in hope should be partaker of his hope. (1 Corinthians 9:7-10).
