The following report is by ZeroHedge:
California taxpayers may be on the hook for as much as $223,200 for each descendant of slavery living in the Golden State, in order to compensate them for “housing discrimination,” according to the New York Times.
The nine-member Reparations Task Force, formed by California Governor Gavin Newsom, has been focusing on ways to counter the claimed housing discrimination. Overall reparations would cost approximately $569 billion to compensate the roughly 2.5 million black Californians for ‘setbacks’ between 1933 and 1977 – eclipsing the state’s $512.8 billion expenditure in 2021.
We want to see the land and economic wealth stolen from Black families all across this country returned.
Said activist Kavon Ward.
The panel is still mulling how payments should be made – with some suggesting tuition and housing grants, while others are suggesting cash. Final figures will be released in a 2023 report, which would then be up to the state Legislature to act upon the recommendations and figure out how to fund them.
They have also identified four other reasons for reparations – mass incarceration, unjust property seizures, devaluation of black businesses and health care. The $223,200 figure only applies to housing discrimination.
“We are looking at reparations on a scale that is the largest since Reconstruction,” task force member Jovan Scott Lewis, a Berkeley professor, told the Times.
Every year for almost three decades, Representative John Conyers Jr. of Michigan introduced legislation that would have created a commission to explore reparations, but the measure consistently stalled in Congress. After Mr. Conyers retired in 2017, Representative Sheila Jackson Lee of Texas began championing the measure, which passed a House committee for the first time last year, but stalled on the floor.
Underscoring the political hurdles, opinions on reparations are sharply divided by race. Last year, an online survey by the University of Massachusetts Amherst found that 86 percent of African Americans supported compensating the descendants of slaves, compared with 28 percent of white people. Other polls have also shown wide splits. -NYT
The Times points to Russell City, California as an example of housing discrimination. The city, once home to many black families who fled racial terror, was bulldozed and repolaced with an industrial park. Former resident Monique Henderson-Ford told the Times she was paid $2,200 for her home – less than 1/3 of what she paid.
Imagine if the houses were still here. We would all be sitting on a fortune.
She said, adding
AUTHOR COMMENTARY
Ah yes, California wasting the taxpayer’s money on more work nonsense and reparations? What else is new? These wicked rulers must do whatever they can to further accelerate the destruction of their economy – which affects the rest of the U.S. – along with bleeding out the remainder of the middle class.
A poor man that oppresseth the poor is like a sweeping rain which leaveth no food.
Proverbs 28:3
[7] Who goeth a warfare any time at his own charges? who planteth a vineyard, and eateth not of the fruit thereof? or who feedeth a flock, and eateth not of the milk of the flock? [8] Say I these things as a man? or saith not the law the same also? [9] For it is written in the law of Moses, Thou shalt not muzzle the mouth of the ox that treadeth out the corn. Doth God take care for oxen? [10] Or saith he it altogether for our sakes? For our sakes, no doubt, this is written: that he that ploweth should plow in hope; and that he that thresheth in hope should be partaker of his hope. (1 Corinthians 9:7-10).

good grief, I think the blacks think they were the only race who were slaves, I have news for them they were not the only race who were slaves.
Exactly! There were white slaves – I think the white slaves were mostly traded with Arabs in Morocco.
But we’ve been so brainwashed by the Vatican perversion of the history books and our minds have been so poisoned over the years by wicked and false christian Americans, I’m struggling with that deception and trying to get away from it myself and I’m white mixed race.
Accountability culture I think is what it is. It’s cancel culture in disguise and another excuse to tax Americans.
So, I hope they only charge those who actually had slaves in their lifetime….and, I wonder if I can get reparations from my ancestors peasantry, serfdom & inquisitional suffering from Rome & cronies? Remember the Peasants’ War? Tip of the Iceberg.
Thomas Sowell, the black conservative wrote a good history of slavery. The word ‘slave’ actually came from ‘slav’ because those poor people at the crossroad between East & West were so enslaved by the dueling empires. It didn’t help their case in the world empire types eyes that they had the word of God fairly early. Magnet for persecution from the Godhaters. I think it’s in his book ‘Black Redneck and White Liberals’.

You can go to purecambridgetext.com and read some great history with documentation from John M. Asquith on how Europe got chattel slavery after it had been outlawed for 100 years due to biblical influence, even under Rome. Slavery never ceased in the East, Africa & isles of the nations elsewhere. It was legalized by two special bulls of the Pope making deals for his crony the Portuguese king to finance his voyages of exploration. They also claimed ownership of the world & divided it between crony Romish kings.

If you read John Newton’s biography, the author of the hymns ‘Amazing Grace’ and ‘How Tedious &Tasteless’ ….you’ll find the guy was knocked over the head as a young man & impressed into sailing. It was common for ships short on ‘help’ to do such things, either directly or through organized crime selling such ‘sailors’ to them found in the slums or boozing districts. He was wicked & rebellious though. At one point he was keelhauled which is a horrific & extreme punishment, even by oldschool British sailing standards, & at another he was such a trial to those around him that they sold him to a white trader along the coast of Africa who gifted him to his tribal princess live-in where he about died. His father had a bit of wealth & sailing connections & finally kidnapped or bought him back…can’t remember that part precisely. He worked on slavers, and his mother’s Christian witness & prayers finally came to fruition, & he was saved.

He was of Welsh descent, became a Nonconformist preacher…Bible baptist, and lived to be present at the meeting of Parliament where Wilberforce & the Evangelicals accomplished the peaceful abolition of slavery in all Great Britain & provinces, colonies…..which pushed all the wealthy corporate investment in it here. Anyways, he was always rebuking the mystical, monstrous feminism & political nature of Fox’s Quakers, as well as the high church Romishness & idolatrous humanism, & when Wilberforce & folks would speak of the great achievement for mankind that it was, he would sober them with scripture & point their gratitude toward the Lord where it belonged. Famously quoted as saying in response to Wilberforce, “I know but two things: I am a great sinner. And Christ is a great Saviour.”

Died of pneumonia contracted going out in cold, soaking rain to share Christian fellowship with a dying member of his undershepherd flock.
Sounds like an attempt to stir up a race war and civil unrest, and it will be used against the blacks, who never have really benefited from any civil rights legislation that has unfolded since Lyndon Johnson’s “Great Society” pipe dream.
