Yesterday Mayor London Breed and the San Francisco, California, and the city launched a new program that will supply a month a check to residents who register as transgender.
The Guaranteed Income for Trans People (GIFT) program has begun starting to accept applications since November 15th, and closing by the 15th of December. However only 55 people will be able to collect one of these recurring payments.
Guaranteed Income for Transgender People (G.I.F.T.) will provide economically marginalized transgender people with unrestricted, monthly guaranteed income as a way to combat poverty our most impacted community members face.
The Transgender District and Lyon-Martin Community Health Services, in partnership with municipal city departments in the City and County of San Francisco, will provide 55 Transgender residents of San Francisco County with $1,200 a month in guaranteed income for a year and a half.
The program will prioritize enrollment of Transgender, Non-Binary, Gender Non-Conforming, and Intersex (TGI) people who are also Black, Indigenous, or People of Color (BIPOC), experiencing homelessness, living with disabilities and chronic illnesses, youth and elders, monolingual Spanish-speakers, and those who are legally vulnerable such as TGI people who are undocumented, engaging in survival sex trades, or are formerly incarcerated.
Transgender District President Aria Sa’id said in a statement:
By giving low-income trans people the resources to cover the expenses they deem most immediate and important given each person’s unique situation, we are implementing a truly community-centered intervention to combat poverty.
There has been some important and courageously won progression in recent years. Trans people—especially trans people of color—still live with unacceptably high levels of poverty, lack of health access, lack of stable housing and violence. San Francisco can continue to play a critical leadership role.
Roger Doughty, executive director of LGBTQ community service provider Horizons, added
The San Francisco Standard wrote, ‘Trans communities in California face higher financial barriers compared with the general population. The last U.S. Trans Survey in 2015 found that 30% of transgender Californians were living in poverty, with trans people of color accounting for a disproportionate number.’
‘GIFT will be the city’s third guaranteed income program, joining the Abundant Birth Project and the Guaranteed Income Pilot for Artists program, which provide basic income for Black and Pacific Islander pregnant people and artists, respectively,’ the outlet added.
We will keep building on programs like this to provide those in the greatest need with the financial resources and services to help them thrive.

I truly think that either China or Russia maybe North Korea will send their troops to America (some think Russia, but I think China is more likely) and California will be the first if not one of the first states to have foreign troop boots on U.S. soil.

I was struck when examining scripture during some recent preaching on how people become so reprobate, receiving the temptations, flattery & lies….scripture wresting…of Satan as do those sorcerers/manipulators of reality and mighty men of empire. What struck me was not only the truth of that…but the differing order in the temptations given in Matthew which is addressed primarily to the Jew, and in Luke, which is addressed primarily to the Greek & Gentile, those prone to humanist idolatries, the kingdom of man. Leonard Verduin was the last of the honest Protestant & Reformed historians that I know of, who admitted these things in history.
