“As a gay man, I stand proudly behind not teaching our children sex or sexual orientation. That’s incumbent on the parents, not educators.”

The following report is by Insider:

George Santos is set to become the only openly gay Republican in Congress after Democratic candidate Robert Zimmerman conceded early Wednesday morning in a closely-watched race in New York’s 3rd congressional district.

The Long Island election itself was historic, as it was the first time two openly LGBTQ candidates nominated by major parties competed in a general election for federal office.

Santos will also be only the third openly gay Republican member of Congress, following former Reps. Jim Kolbe of Arizona and Steve Gunderson of Illinois. He is the first Republican to be openly gay at the time of his election.

But Santos, a 34-year-old investment banker, isn’t exactly a moderate.

After losing a congressional bid in 2020, he traveled to Washington, DC on January 6, 2021, to attend President Donald Trump’s speech, during which Trump claimed he’d won the 2020 election “by a landslide” and told his loyalists to “fight like hell” to overturn the results.

I was at the Ellipse on January 6. That was the most amazing crowd, and the president was at his full awesomeness that day.

Said Santos during a February 2021 appearance on “The Right View” hosted by Lara Trump.

Santos went on to call January 6 a “sad and dark day,” and has said he was “never on Capitol grounds” that day. But he was later caught on camera by a Democratic activist saying that he had cut a “nice check to a law firm” to get people arrested in DC on January 6 out of jail.

Don’t want to publicize it, but pretty adamant about that. Imagine breaking into your own house and being charged for trespassing.

He said during the video.

His election also comes during a year that’s seen a marked rise in anti-LGBTQ sentiment on the right.

That’s included the passage of the Parental Rights in Education Act in Florida — dubbed “Don’t Say Gay” by critics — as well as the declaration by the Texas GOP that homosexuality represents an “abnormal lifestyle choice,” the rise of “groomer” as an insult on the right, and a host of state-level legislation taking aim at transgender youth.

At the same time, Republicans have shown an increasing openness to same-sex marriage. 47 House Republicans voted to codify same-sex marriage into law in July, and several Senate Republicans have come out in support of it as well.

Nonetheless, most members of the House Republican Conference voted against enshrining the right to same-sex marriage into law. But he’s shrugged off the notion that same-sex marriage needs to be codified at all, minimizing the significance of Supreme Court Justice Clarence Thomas’s concurring opinion in the Dobbs case, in which the conservative justice suggested the ruling that legalized same-sex marriage nationwide should be reconsidered.

He had an unfortunate moment in a dissenting opinion that the majority did not sign on. Clearly, that’s why it has no legal value. It’s nothing more than a legal essay. A legal essay written by a Supreme Court justice with — I’m just going to go out on a limb and say not the brightest moment in his career.

Santos told the Washington Blade.

And Santos has outright defended anti-LGBTQ measures pushed by Republicans.

As a gay man, I stand proudly behind not teaching our children sex or sexual orientation. That’s incumbent on the parents, not educators.

He said in a Facebook video in April, referring to the Florida law.

Florida’s Parental Rights in Education Act forbids classroom instruction about sexual orientation and gender identity for third graders and younger; critics say the law is intended to target LGBTQ people, chilling their ability to express themselves.

DeSantis, you have my full-blown support, and I support your decision to protect our children’s innocence. I stand proudly behind the Florida legislature for putting a decent bill that will protect values.

AUTHOR COMMENTARY

Insider makes a big stink about the Jan 6th stuff, which I could care less about. However, I mention this article because of the fact that we have yet another sodomite in authority in this country. Republican, Democrat, doesn’t matter: wickedness and abomination exists on both sides; so don’t let some conservative pundit, especially the “Christian” ones, fabricate the narrative that it is only Dems who are the problem in this country…

Every one that is proud in heart is an abomination to the LORD: though hand join in hand, he shall not be unpunished.

Proverbs 16:5

[7] Who goeth a warfare any time at his own charges? who planteth a vineyard, and eateth not of the fruit thereof? or who feedeth a flock, and eateth not of the milk of the flock? [8] Say I these things as a man? or saith not the law the same also? [9] For it is written in the law of Moses, Thou shalt not muzzle the mouth of the ox that treadeth out the corn. Doth God take care for oxen? [10] Or saith he it altogether for our sakes? For our sakes, no doubt, this is written: that he that ploweth should plow in hope; and that he that thresheth in hope should be partaker of his hope. (1 Corinthians 9:7-10).

  • I’d love to see the fake christian conservative nitwits try and defend this!
At least he’s a Republican, right? (I’m being sarcastic.)
These are the same imbeciles that think Trump is the greatest hero to this country…and I used to be one of those imbeciles!

    • You hit a home run, Cary!
I’m sick and tired of this place! I wanna repent more as well as need to repent more, I need the Holy Spirit to teach me more about what’s in the King James Bible and what certain things mean and how to apply them and what can I do for the Lord big or small, because it’s time to leave earth!

  • Praise the LORD that I left the Republican Party. When I was a high school senior, I registered as a republican, because I thought that they actually uphold to ALL conservatives values, but 2020 changed my perspective. I’m glad I’m an independent voter.

  • left vs right is the game of the world. Same thing in Canada except the colours are switched around: red are liberals and blue are “conservatives.” Our standard is heaven and hell, not left and right.

  • Jeremiah 9:9
Shall I not visit them for these things? saith the Lord: shall not my soul be avenged on such a nation as this?

  • Another LGBTQ first for the State of New York and NYC specifically. It’s where the LJBTQ movement really got its start, in some bar or whatever hovel, called Stonewall. Why not the first openly gay Republican in Congress, although I suppose there have been many closet Republican queers serving in Congress before him. He really has nothing to boast about, but these sodomites will seek any opportunity to wear their wickedness on their sleeve. I notice he identifies as a “man”, yet we are not allowed to make this distinction with our own kids. Very hypocritical, although he most likely cannot see the this for himself. One of the original participants in the Stonewall riots in the late 70s or early 80s (I’m not totally well-versed on queer culture) was some sort of self-styled Catholic monk, who, as a sodomized teenager himself, was tasked with disposing of two bodies of dead children buried on the property of what the person who handled him owned or frequented. The bodies, most likely used in ritual sacrifice which this sodomized teenager witnessed and participated in, according to his own admittance, were dumped in the Hudson River. He even took a photo of the property where these kids were kept. Fast forward a few decades later and it turns out he was an acquaintance of Jeffrey Dahmer, having left NYC for the Midwest. What’s that saying…..”birds of a feather”….. Or could it be they just met because both attended a Catholic Church in Milwaukee? According to him, Dahmer hated the queers, yet frequented the gay bars in that city. Go figure.
It is becoming so clear to me why God commanded His ancient Israelites to destroy the high places and drive out the sodomites from the land.
