The U.S. Army will now reportedly ease the weight limits for new recruits after the military branch had one of its worst enrollment misses in history.

The WinePress reported a couple of weeks ago that the Biden Administration will be terminating roughly 20,000 troops and staff from all five major military branches for not getting a Covid-19 vaccine – news which came at a not-so ideal time, as the Army said they had their worst recruitment miss ever and other divisions will be in the hole next year. And a large contributing factor to this miss is due to the fact the population is very overweight and obese.

Now the Army is planning to accept heavier recruits, Sargent Major Michael Grinston said at the Association of the U.S. Army conference in Washington, D.C.

Normally men who are over 6 feet tall and up to 20-years-old cannot exceed 190 pounds. Women who is 5’5 and up to 27-years-old cannot weight over 152 pounds.

Citing The Army Times, The Trends Journal reports that ‘the Army is likely understrength by about 10,000 soldiers, and considered the U.S. in a “major recruiting crisis.” To accommodate would-be recruits, a pre-basic training course for applicants with too much body fat to join—about six percent—will be offered. They will receive standard pay during the course, and then move to basic training.’

This is a complex problem that has a deep impact on national security by limiting the number of available recruits, decreasing reenlistment candidacy, and potentially reducing mission readiness.

Additional, relevant issues include the changing demographics of the military and food insecurity among military families.

Sara Police, PhD, Department of Pharmacology and Nutritional Sciences, University of Kentucky College of Medicine, told the outlet.

The WP noted recently that the Army plans to not yell as much to recruits as to somehow better ‘connect’ with them, but also increasing the difficulty of the physical conditioning and marksmanship tests.

AUTHOR COMMENTARY

The compromise had to come eventually. And this same compromise will come when an illegal draft situation is enacted, in all likelihood, in my view.

But this means that more recruits are going to fail and try to get discharged, I would assume, forcing the training to be softened up as well, thereby weakening the Army even more than it already is.

America’s military strength is looking bleaker and bleaker…

[1] The word which came unto Jeremiah from the LORD, when king Zedekiah sent unto him Pashur the son of Melchiah, and Zephaniah the son of Maaseiah the priest, saying, [2] Inquire, I pray thee, of the LORD for us; for Nebuchadrezzar king of Babylon maketh war against us; if so be that the LORD will deal with us according to all his wondrous works, that he may go up from us. [3] Then said Jeremiah unto them, Thus shall ye say to Zedekiah: [4] Thus saith the LORD God of Israel; Behold, I will turn back the weapons of war that are in your hands, wherewith ye fight against the king of Babylon, and against the Chaldeans, which besiege you without the walls, and I will assemble them into the midst of this city. [5] And I myself will fight against you with an outstretched hand and with a strong arm, even in anger, and in fury, and in great wrath. [6] And I will smite the inhabitants of this city, both man and beast: they shall die of a great pestilence. [7] And afterward, saith the LORD, I will deliver Zedekiah king of Judah, and his servants, and the people, and such as are left in this city from the pestilence, from the sword, and from the famine, into the hand of Nebuchadrezzar king of Babylon, and into the hand of their enemies, and into the hand of those that seek their life: and he shall smite them with the edge of the sword; he shall not spare them, neither have pity, nor have mercy.

Jeremiah 21:1-7

[7] Who goeth a warfare any time at his own charges? who planteth a vineyard, and eateth not of the fruit thereof? or who feedeth a flock, and eateth not of the milk of the flock? [8] Say I these things as a man? or saith not the law the same also? [9] For it is written in the law of Moses, Thou shalt not muzzle the mouth of the ox that treadeth out the corn. Doth God take care for oxen? [10] Or saith he it altogether for our sakes? For our sakes, no doubt, this is written: that he that ploweth should plow in hope; and that he that thresheth in hope should be partaker of his hope. (1 Corinthians 9:7-10).

  • good grief, our armed forces are a joke anymore, not only do we have girlie boys now we will have fat girlie boys, hahaha you just can’t make this stuff up, I am waiting for the military to take away fatigues and replace them with govt issued rainbow tutus with pink and purple balerina slippers to wear in combat.

  • Most powerful military in the world, yeah right!
China, Russia, North Korea, and maybe India – the BRICS nations will have a heyday stomping America out.
For those who might not know: BRICS: Brazil, Russia, India, China, and South Africa. They’re powerful and America doesn’t stand a chance!

  • Between how prevalent both government spying and internet piracy is, it wouldn’t surprise me at all if the government doesn’t begin scouring the Internet for those who pirated video games, movies, tv shows, music, books, and other forms of entertainment and forced them to join the army in a time of desperation. Of course this probably won’t happen until the draft is exhausted and it assumes we don’t get nuked before we reach this point of desperation.

Just…don’t expect these pirates turned solders to become your next commissioned officers…or maybe do expect that giving how stupid our national and military leadership has been for the past…well…I’ve lost to just say past forty years, but let’s be honest, it’s probably been much much more stupid for far longer than we realized. Just imagine someone who pirated the next Pokemon game or Starwars movie becoming the next General of the Army. With how crazy things are these days…it probably could happen.
