Romania Insider pointed out in a report on the 19th, that the nation ranked last in measuring energy consumption per capita in Europe in 2020. Many other nations in Europe are consuming exponentially more energy per capita, namely the likes of Norway and Iceland.
But even though Romania already reportedly uses the least amount of electricity per person – the majority of this consumption from residential real estate – the government says they still want to implement even more regulations.
The European Commission unveiled a series of “exceptional electricity demand reduction measures” in a bid to lower costs this winter. Of the three main proposals, the Commission wants all members to force obligatory power usage regulations, in the name of climate change.
The first response to tackle high prices is to reduce demand. This can impact electricity prices and achieve an overall calming effect on the market.
To target the most expensive hours of electricity consumption, when gas-fired power generation has a significant impact on the price, the Commission proposes an obligation to reduce electricity consumption by at least 5% during selected peak price hours. Member States will be required to identify the 10% of hours with the highest expected price and reduce demand during those peak hours. The Commission also proposes that Member States aim to reduce overall electricity demand by at least 10% until 31 March 2023. They can choose the appropriate measures to achieve this demand reduction, which may include financial compensation. Reducing demand at peak times would lead to a reduction of gas consumption by 1.2bcm over the winter.
Increasing energy efficiency is also a key part of meeting our climate commitments under the European Green Deal.
The commission wrote
On the 1st of September Romania decided to extend their energy support bill by capping small businesses’ and household’s energy bills all the way into August of 2023, while also implementing additional taxes to the energy supply chain.
The measures will discourage speculative behaviors on the electricity and natural gas markets.
Prime Minister Nicolae Ciuca said prior to the meeting to amend the regulations.
Reuters points out that these additional measures may prove to be costly in the long run due to Romania’s continually increasing budget deficit. Wolf Thesis details these new regulations in a blog post, noting that this price cap only applies to those who do not exceed the government’s energy level dictates.
Howbeit Romanian businesses are still struggling to secure these energy contracts because the suppliers reportedly cannot supply the necessary volume of natural gas and oil needed at competitive prices, versus the government’s slow-arriving and inadequate subsidies.
‘The country’s energy aid program — which may be amended by parliament in the coming weeks — compensates providers up to 1,300 lei ($253) a megawatt hour, which is less than half the current market price. That leaves suppliers facing losses if they accept new clients and have to buy power from the spot market,’ Bloomberg.
If you want to supply additional volumes of gas or electricity to customers you don’t already have, you need to be able to buy that energy.
At the moment we all have a big cash problem linked to the situation and the fact that we’re basically pre-financing all those support schemes.
Eric Stab, chief executive officer of Engie Romania SA, said in an interview in Bucharest last week.
Bloomberg added, ‘Some providers are already on the verge of insolvency because of the liquidity issues, according to local media. Suppliers protest that the government is slow to disburse compensation funds, though the administration insists it pays the money as soon as it receives the invoices.’
But that has not stopped the nation from investing in electric vehicles and other green policies. Just this morning the European Investment Bank (EIB) granted 15 mllion euros to the Autonom Group, to aid in the rollout of new EVs and “low-carbon” emitting transportation.
‘Autonom is the largest mobility network in Romania and provides its clients with various transportation and car rental solutions through over 46 agencies present in over 33 cities in Romania and Hungary,’ Electric Energy Online reported.
Today marks a milestone in the green transition of Autonom and the green transition of transport in Romania. The first cooperation with the European Investment Bank will enable 15 million of visionary new investment in green business transport that will cut carbon emissions and reduce pollution across our country.
Marius Stefan CEO & co-Founder of Autonom, said
Transport represents almost a quarter of Europe’s greenhouse gas emissions and is the main cause of air pollution in cities. The new EUR 15 million European Investment Bank financing to Autonom will enable 895 of green vehicles to be used for business transport across Romania and this new cooperation shows how climate action can be an integral part of business investment.

These types of hypocritical actions and discrepancies were discussed by Maria Cernat, a Romanian citizen, and Boyan Stanislavski from Poland, where the two cut through the European nation’s thin veneer, and how the people to need freeze and shiver in the name of fighting Putin and fighting climate change. Moreover, Cernat explains how her country is already debating to shutdown schools because the costs would simply be too much.
Above all, Stanislavski explained how he was dumbfounded by the lack of a backlash from the European people.
The fact that it’s happening and people just – they don’t seem to somehow be able to comprehend it or wrap their heads around that? I mean, I mean not sure what really has to happen in order for the people, […] but what I am expecting is [the people] to draw some conclusions […]
But guys, we never signed-up for you know freezing during the winter. We never signed-up not to send our kids to school. We never signed-up not to you know be able to do all the basic things which you know are not any particular kind of comfort: they are just the basic ABC sort of elements of our civilization.
What [the West] seem[s] to be doing is they are pushing Europe back into some sort of third-world order.
And even though is particular podcast was dedicated to the actions of the Romanian government, Stanislavski briefly mentioned how Polish deputy climate and energy minister Edward Siarka said in June, “It is always possible, with the consent of foresters, to collect branches for fuel,” to soften the blow of not having natural gas at their disposal for the winter.

Telling people to collect branches for fuel and warmth is the energy equivalent to saying “let them eat cake!”
A poor man that oppresseth the poor is like a sweeping rain which leaveth no food.
Proverbs 28:3
These actions by Romania and the rest of Europe, including Russia and their allies, are not because of incompetence and indiscretion, but are very deliberate acts to destroy and thrust down the West, allowing the East to take new preeminence.
[7] Who goeth a warfare any time at his own charges? who planteth a vineyard, and eateth not of the fruit thereof? or who feedeth a flock, and eateth not of the milk of the flock? [8] Say I these things as a man? or saith not the law the same also? [9] For it is written in the law of Moses, Thou shalt not muzzle the mouth of the ox that treadeth out the corn. Doth God take care for oxen? [10] Or saith he it altogether for our sakes? For our sakes, no doubt, this is written: that he that ploweth should plow in hope; and that he that thresheth in hope should be partaker of his hope. (1 Corinthians 9:7-10).

Look how the schools have to close, nice.
It would be worse before the church buildings are closed down again & more people finally decide to flee the cities.
In my country TikTok & video games have literally possessed people as many don’t see the turmoil in the world or don’t care even about possible food shortages. Their eyes are open but they don’t see/perceive, like there is a satanic veil over their eyes -Eyes Wide Shut is what I say.
