In a bid to fulfil their despotic climate goals, the United Kingdom government has been enticing farmers to sell their land for a cash incentive in return.

The initiative is called the Lump Sum Exit Scheme, in which farmers have precisely till midnight of September 30th to apply, and then receive their voucher. The payment varies on the size of the land and its appraised worth.

The government’s website states,

The scheme is for Basic Payment Scheme (BPS) applicants in England who wish to leave farming, either to retire or take up a different occupation.

Along with a few other required steps, farmers will be obligated to do the following:

  • transfer your agricultural land in England (but you can keep up to 5 hectares) or plant it with trees under a woodland creation scheme
  • transfer grazing and pannage rights you have on common land in England, where required
  • give up (surrender) your English BPS entitlements

‘Once you receive the lump sum, you can still work as an agricultural contractor or for other farmers,’ the U.K. government says.

Farmers who apply for this must transfer their land by May 31st, 2024. The website provides much more specific details.

As indicated by BBC report, this scheme has been in place since 2021.

I understand the burden of expectation that can exist to loyally continue the family tradition (of farming) and how this sometimes stands in the way of change.

A fresh perspective can make a world of difference. New entrants are the lifeblood of any vibrant industry and farming is no exception.

Environment Secretary George Eustice said

As our agricultural support is overhauled, farm businesses across the country will be making life-changing decisions about the future of their farm.

We want to see a fair transition which allows farmers who are considering leaving the industry to have sufficient time and information to make those life-changing decisions.

A spokesperson for the National Farmers’ Union (NFU) said

The BBC wrote, ‘Under the new post-Brexit scheme, grants will be used to incentivise so-called “public goods”, such as protecting water supplies; holding floodwater on land; capturing carbon in soil and trees, and increasing wildlife. The government believes that younger farmers will be more open to new nature-friendly ideas and more inclined to seek income by diversifying into businesses such as camping or glamping.’

AUTHOR COMMENTARY

Allow me to translate this: they are saying,

“Okay, we can do this the easy way or the hard way. The easy way is, you give us your land, we cut you a nice check, and you go on your merry way. The hard way is, if you don’t take our peasant checks and let us peacefully sequester your land, then we shall take it from you whether you like or not.”

And this I say, lest any man should beguile you with enticing words.

They are not saying it now, but the British government plans to do what The Netherlands is doing, and what Ireland is soon to do as well; but they are pretending to be more ‘equitable’ in their approach.

Don’t fall for it: this is for anyone reading this article.

My son, if sinners entice thee, consent thou not.

Proverbs 1:10

[7] Who goeth a warfare any time at his own charges? who planteth a vineyard, and eateth not of the fruit thereof? or who feedeth a flock, and eateth not of the milk of the flock? [8] Say I these things as a man? or saith not the law the same also? [9] For it is written in the law of Moses, Thou shalt not muzzle the mouth of the ox that treadeth out the corn. Doth God take care for oxen? [10] Or saith he it altogether for our sakes? For our sakes, no doubt, this is written: that he that ploweth should plow in hope; and that he that thresheth in hope should be partaker of his hope. (1 Corinthians 9:7-10).

  • Trade your land for paper cash or numbers in the air. When food shortages come, just boil the cash to make soup.
