In a move that is the first of it’s kind in the U.K., family doctors in Sussex will get compensation for prescribing hormone therapy treatments and annual health checks to patients who identify as transgender.
For ever adult doctors that prescribe these treatments, they will be earn £178 ($233) every year for every cross-sex hormone treatment, and £91 ($119) each year for every health checkup they provide to transgender or non-binary patient.
The Daily Mail explains, ‘The new scheme was launched [on April 1st] and aims to lower the currently-high rates of long-term physical and mental health problems for these patients, who have notably low levels of satisfaction with care provided by the NHS.’
These specific health clinicians have waitlists that are years long in length, after seeing referrals to these doctors’ offices rise by 240%.
Other patients referred to the Tavistock and Portman NHS Trust in north west London in December of 2017, will now also be seeing their first appointments.
‘The scheme is set to run for three years across Brighton and Hove, East Sussex and West Sussex initially, with participating GPs required to take up two-and-a-half hours of online training,’ Daily Mail also notes.
A separate British outlet noted that this new move is “not designed to promote the initiation of hormonal treatment in general practice,” but instead give “interim support” for those patients in queue and “improve access” to these hormonal replacements and treatments.
The Daily Mail also reports that there is some concern these doctors the prescriptions could be given without the proper psychological support,’ which could lead to added pressure on doctors who are already taking courses and studies to prescribe these medications for those transitioning to different genders.
The doctors will be required to take blood tests, as to make sure the treatments are being applied safely.
Debbie Hayton, a transgender woman and activist, who made the change in 2012, describes this move as “desperate measures for desperate times,” in context of this person being uncertain that there is not enough proper psychological council for these transitioning.

Trans healthcare in the UK is under resourced and oversubscribed.
Trans people face waiting times of up to four years to access vital healthcare services at specialist Gender Identity Clinics, while those who are referred today will likely have even longer waits.
When trying to access care in community settings, many trans people report that local GPs lack the knowledge and confidence needed to support trans people’s basic needs, and tend to refer to specialist services for simple matters.
With enough capacity and training, schemes like this could ensure trans people can access the specialist care they need in their local community and without the lengthy wait.

When it comes to the medical establishment, people are woefully and willfully ignorant to the fact the doctors and hospitals are routinely sponsored or receive commission for promoting different drugs and practices. This is why many doctors are very adamant to prescribe as many drugs as they can, as fast as they can, without actually examining and treating the patient; because they want to get a ton of kickbacks on top of their baseline pay.
In the case of this, apparently, there are so many perverts looking to transition the city can’t shovel them in and out fast enough, so now the doctors will be incentivized to not only put them up higher on the list, they will also not receive their philosphical beguiling as much as they normally would be bewitched with, as to fatten the wallets of the doctors all the more faster, along with sterilizing more of the portion faster, too.

I don’t know about you, but I HATE doctors!
This one doctor here in Laredo Texas, Dr. Haber, an internist, known for being a complete jerk and going on loud angry outbursts in the hospital and cussing including saying God D-Word, he’s recently been fired from both hospitals in Laredo praise the Lord, what do you say, Jacob?
Now, these doctors and medical establishments are going to get it bad from Jesus for this!
I’m so thankful that doctor, dr Haber got fired and banned from both hospitals for his nasty deplorable attitude! What do ya say, Jacob?
