Last week Taiwanese drag queen Nymphia Wind, winner of RuPaul’s Drag Race last month, gave a special performance for the outgoing President Tsai Ing-wen and other invited guests.

Reported by LGTBQIA+ magazine Advocate:

‘Nymphia, the first person from East Asia to win the RuPaul’s Drag Racecrown, captivated the audience with a series of performances. The drag artist performed Lady Gaga’s “Marry the Night” and Taiwanese singer Huang Fei’s “Chase, Chase, Chase.” Clad in a striking yellow outfit, her performance reached its crescendo with a powerful rendition of Jolin Tsai’s gender equality anthem, “Womxnly,” performed alongside five other drag queens.’

This is probably the first presidential office in the world to host a drag show. Thank you for your contributions to this country so that I could grow up to be like this today. Thank you for your eight years of dedication, becoming our Taiwan mother.

Nymphia said to Tsai after her performance, which was streamed live on the presidential office’s YouTube channel. She thanked Tsai for her efforts in legalizing same-sex marriages and her dedication to the LGBTQ+ community.

More recently, China has increased its military presence off the coasts of Taiwan.

The Ministry of National Defense of the People’s Republic of China said in a brief statement yesterday:

“Naval Senior Captain Li Xi, spokesperson for the Chinese PLA Eastern Theater Command, said in a written statement that on May 23, the PLA Eastern Theater Command continued to conduct drills on such subjects as sea assaults, land strikes, air defense and anti-submarine in the airspace and waters to the north and south of Taiwan Island, in a bid to test the multi-domain coordination and joint strike capabilities of the theater command’s troops.”

Moreover, the Chinese state-run media said in a statement:

The latest drills of the Chinese People’s Liberation Army (PLA) surrounding Taiwan Island were the largest in scale, and vessels were getting closer to the island “than ever before,” mainland military experts said Friday.

The PLA’s Eastern Theater Command conducted joint military drills around Taiwan Island from Thursday to Friday. The exercise was carried out in the Taiwan Strait, to the north, south and east of Taiwan Island, and in areas around the islands of Kinmen, Matsu, Wuqiu and Dongyin.

It came in deterrence of Taiwan’s new leader Lai Ching-te, whose debut speech on May 20 was filled with hostility and provocations, showing that he has adopted an even riskier and more radical approach toward “Taiwan independence” than his predecessors.

Meng Xiangqing, a professor from Beijing-based National Defense University, said on Friday that mainland’s coast guard vessels entered the waters near the Wuqiu and Dongyin islands for the first time during the drills, completely shattering Taiwan authorities’ notion of the so-called “restricted waters.”

In an interview with Xinhua, Meng said the scale of the drills was larger than previous ones and the forces deployed were stronger, with long-range artillery systems, conventional missile systems, and fighter jets forming a “firepower package.”

During the drills, a multi-directional, deep close-in simulation animation was released by the PLA, simulating PLA vessels approaching Taiwan Island. Meng said the vessels were unprecedentedly close to the coast of Taiwan.

This means that “there has been an increasing level of pressure against the space of Taiwan’s so-called military defense, and this pressure has reached a significant level,” Meng said.

Tong Zhen, an expert from the Academy of Military Sciences, said in the same interview that the drills mainly targeted the ringleaders and political center of “Taiwan independence,” and involved simulated precision strikes on key political and military targets.

Strike drills were carried out against significant targets such as ports and airports to cut off the island’s “blood vessels” and block out its “foreign aid regiments,” Tong said.

The joint precision strikes feature the integration of the army, navy, air force and rocket force, as well as new-domain forces with new combat capabilities, Meng said, adding that the key objects of the drills were establishing dominance in the air, sea and information fields.

He highlighted the importance of the drills held off the east of Taiwan Island, the direction from which external intervention forces are likely to come.

“‘Taiwan independence’ separatists have long considered the island’s eastern direction to be their backyard and ‘shelter,’ but the drills have shown that we can control that eastern area,” Meng said.

He noted that the control operation has delivered the following messages: “Taiwan independence” separatists cannot escape; foreign intervention cannot get in; and the preservation of the island’s military power is an illusion.

Proverbs 15:25 The LORD will destroy the house of the proud: but he will establish the border of the widow.

Gee whiz, I wonder who is going to win this upcoming war…

Of course, the U.S. is bound and determined to involve itself in this war as well. I don’t know if it will breakout this year, with this being an election year and all, but I definitely think 2025 is a very likely year this thing busts loose internationally.

  • OH FOR CRYING OUT LOUD, TAIWAN!!!

(I’m yelling at Taiwan, not you Jacob or anybody else:)

Are you stupid, Taiwan?!?! Is your IQ that low, Taiwan? Your biggest enemy ever, The People’s Republic of China is gearing up for war like it’s World War II on steroids, they’re arming and training up men and boys 24/7 getting them ready to smash nations including the U.S. like bugs, and you’re glorifying and exalting an abomination!!!

Oh well, I had some sympathy for you, Taiwan, but no more!

  • Dumb people running Taiwan, really dumb. They are probably cooperating with the PLA is my guess and were promised a generous amount to do so. That generous amount will result in their deaths as it would be unlikely the CCP would just give money away when they don’t need to. My two cents

    • That’s a clever and inquisitive two cents, 007.
Yeah, give up Taiwan for the equivalent of $500 trillion dollars, well guess what: it’s not worth it! That money won’t save them when the People’s Liberation Army invades and they commit a genocide that would make the Holocaust seem like a Christmas party!

  • I’ll tell ya this much:

If I had my own country, with my own Armed Forces – Army, Navy, Air Force, and Marines, all of my troops would be male. No feminism, no LGBTQIA+ ABC’s of Sodomy, no “equality”, no politics, no illegal wars of aggression on innocent nations, and no imperialism!

No chaplains either, it’ll be passing out King James Bibles with laminated fireproof and waterproof pages and covers, and somebody like brother Bryan would speak and preach to my troops as well as others – not necessarily a man with a rank but it’s optional and possible.

All natural medicines for medical, dental, and veterinary care as well even!

Drugs, alcohol, pornography, sexual lasciviousness, gambling, and pride will NOT be tolerated!

Now, I’m not a genius, but I think that would make a very formidable and imposing military!

    • Yes, it would be a very good army and some day that will happen when Jesus Christ returns with his army (you, me, and brother and sisters in Christ Jesus and his angles:) and he shall rule with a rod of iron Revelation 2:27 (KJV).

  • I thought if we are in war there will be NO election day, so I’m thinking that our wonderful prez (and his man behind the scenes) will try their best to make war with anyone that will fight us (China) so we won’t have an election and this piece of dog mess will be our leader for a while longer I’m praying we won’t even be here until our election day. The world will really be in a mess then, but we don’t know, so we just wait, watch and pray.
