Netflix has an early Christmas gift for you — but it won’t fit under the tree. On Dec. 25, 2024, Netflix will be the global home of the NFL’s two Christmas Day marquee games.

The following report is a press release by the National Football League and Netflix:

And mark your calendar for Christmas Day in 2025 and 2026 when Netflix will be streaming at least one holiday game each year as part of this three-season deal.

“Last year, we decided to take a big bet on live — tapping into massive fandoms across comedy, reality TV, sports and more,” said Bela Bajaria, Netflix chief content officer. “There are no live annual events, sports or otherwise, that compare with the audiences NFL football attracts. We’re so excited that the NFL’s Christmas Day games will be only on Netflix.”

“We couldn’t be more excited to be the first professional sports league to partner with Netflix to bring live games to fans around the world,” said Hans Schroeder, NFL executive vice president of media distribution. “The NFL on Christmas has become a tradition and to partner with Netflix, a service whose biggest day of the year is typically this holiday, is the perfect combination to grow this event globally for NFL fans.”

OK, but what teams will be served up along with the turkey, stuffing and eggnog? The Kansas City Chiefs will take on the Pittsburgh Steelers, while the Houston Texans will host the Baltimore Ravens.

The NFL launched Yuletide games in 1971 before bringing them back on a semi-regular basis in 1989. Since 2020, they’ve been a holiday staple with last year’s three Christmas games ranking among the top 25 most viewed TV programs of 2023; the Raiders versus Chiefs match (yes, Taylor Swift and Santa Claus attended) drew the highest Christmas Day viewership since 1988. In total, the NFL has staged 30 Christmas contests. In keeping with the NFL’s long-standing holiday tradition, the Netflix Christmas Day games will air on broadcast TV in the competing team cities, and be available on U.S. mobile devices with NFL+.

2 Timothy 3:1 This know also, that in the last days perilous times shall come. [4] […] lovers of pleasures more than lovers of God; [5] Having a form of godliness, but denying the power thereof: from such turn away.

I know this is a bit of an odd thing to report on, but I mention this just to highlight the idolatry and covetousness of this country. Whether or not Christmas is your forte or not, the fact remains is that what that day has become only exemplifies who Christ and his word, charity and love for your family and neighbors in this country is dead, and has been replaced with covetousness and the worship of a ball. [7] Who goeth a warfare any time at his own charges? who planteth a vineyard, and eateth not of the fruit thereof? or who feedeth a flock, and eateth not of the milk of the flock? [8] Say I these things as a man? or saith not the law the same also? [9] For it is written in the law of Moses, Thou shalt not muzzle the mouth of the ox that treadeth out the corn. Doth God take care for oxen? [10] Or saith he it altogether for our sakes? For our sakes, no doubt, this is written: that he that ploweth should plow in hope; and that he that thresheth in hope should be partaker of his hope. (1 Corinthians 9:7-10).

  • I hate going to family get togethers on Christmas and seeing football or ANy sports game on the TV. It’s disgusting.

    Romans 14:5-6
[5]One man esteemeth one day above another: another esteemeth every day alike. Let every man be fully persuaded in his own mind.
[6]He that regardeth the day, regardeth it UNTO THE LORD; and he that regardeth not the day, to the Lord he doth not regard it. He that eateth, eateth to the Lord, for he giveth God thanks; and he that eateth not, to the Lord he eateth not, and giveth God thanks.

    • I feel ya, Anthony.

How anybody can sit and watch any sport and not get bored or restless os beyond me.

When I was in the pentecostal harlot cult in 2006, I was at a Christmas gathering at somebody’s house and somebody’s husband asked if he could sit in the lady’s bedroom (because it had a TV) so he could watch the football game. That’s disgusting and very rude! Excusing himself in a house where he’s a guest sitting in someone else’s bedroom while we played Pictionary so he can watch a bunch of sweaty brutes chase a ball!

  • It’s so sickening and utterly repulsive that a conical-shaped, curved, brown piece of pig-skin leather with laces in the center, otherwise called a football, can become such a massive idol and can enchant and bedazzle people so heavily.

Football idolatry, in particular with the different NFL teams has turned people into tribal heathens, they act like pagan tribes out in Africa or South America. For example: Dallas Cowboys fans will shun and attack New York Giants fans and Cincinnati Bengals fans will thrash Carolina Panthers fans and so on.

    21) Little children, keep yourselves from idols. Amen.
    1 John 5:21

Such a simple verse but an impactful one too; it’s a warning. Keep yourselves from idols – the NFL being one of them! But these phony professing christians they LOVE their NFL bread and circuses, and if they missed one game, it’d be a fate worse than death!

Soon, especially when America begins to officially collapse and World War III begins, and there’s no more NFL, what are Americans including professing christians going to do? Watch bowling? Watch tennis? Watch swimming? Watch weight lifting?

    • Spot on. I quit watching football when animal abuser/killer extraordinaire, was released from his measly two year sentence for dog fighting, killing, electrocuting, etc, where he was the BIG HERO of the jail population, first took the field for Philadelphia after being released from his Hotel ( it was for him), I only wanted to see the fanatics in the stands reaction. It was no surprise when this piece of garbage was given a STANDING OVATION. As long as you can score touchdowns, hit home runs, and rack up 30 points per NBA game, the fan cult does not care what you do off the field or court

  • Here’s a thought; do ya watch YouTube video’s? if so what are the one’s that ya watch? That being said, are you no different than those people watching football?
I watch football now and again, but it’s not my god and I also watch racing, all forms, but it’s not my god. My God is the Lord Jesus Christ and He comes first.
NFL today is the WWE, all scripted anyway.
When the Lord comes first and He Knows what’s in your heart, if ya watched some kind of game, I don’t think He minds, now if ya blow off your Bible study to watch it, that’s a problem.

    Another words remember this:
Luk_6:42  Either how canst thou say to thy brother, Brother, let me pull out the mote that is in thine eye, when thou thyself beholdest not the beam that is in thine own eye? Thou hypocrite, cast out first the beam out of thine own eye, and then shalt thou see clearly to pull out the mote that is in thy brother’s eye.

    • I mostly watch Born Again Barbarian or Grafted Branch Ministry with brother Scotty Erb and the like. I’ll watch Dark Skies which talks about military aircraft, feminists regretting wrongfully divorcing their husbands and the like, and if ANY video has excessive profanity especially taking the Lord’s name in vain, I cut them off.

But as for watching football, no thanks, I’d be SOOOOOOOO BORED!!!

  • I’m not a football fan. But I feel the same way about movies and most TV shows playing when visiting at people’s homes.

  • For David Aaron’s: All the NFL Owners and the Commissioner, most of the players are Lucifarians, Jesuit /Free Masons….All Evil and the same with the racing. Why watch things that are an insult and mockery to Jesus Christ? I stopped watching the NFL, NBA years ago. My only Vice left is Michigan Wolverine College Football (which I am getting convicted about to stop) where I listen to the games on the radio and watch one or two games a year. But…even a lot o Those coaches are Catholic Luciferians, the players too!! Ever pay attention to the tattoos on these guys!!! Again…watching this stuff is being okay with them Insulting and Mocking God
