In the wake of the U.S. House of Representatives passing the Antisemitism Awareness Act – a heavily criticized bill which criminalizes all forms of so-called “antisemitism” – a 2018 video has recently begun to recirculate on social media with President Donald Trump stating during a rally that offenders guilty of antisemitism should be given the death penalty.
Trump’s remarks were made on October 27th, 2018, at a rally in Illinois.
For context, Trump began referencing a deadly synagogue attack that occurred that same day in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. He described it as an “evil antisemitic attack” that he called “an assault on all of us.”
“It will require all of us working together to extract the hateful poison of antisemitism from our world,” he said. “This was an antisemitic attack at its worst. The scourge of antisemitism cannot be ignored, cannot be tolerated, and it cannot be allowed to continue – we cannot allow it to continue.”
Trump said that these attacks and antisemitism must be “condemned” asking Americans to “stand with our Jewish brothers and sisters to defeat antisemitism and vanquish the forces of hate – that’s what it is.” Trump followed by saying the death penalty should be enacted for any form of antisemitism.
Through the centuries, the Jews have endured terrible persecution, and you know that – we’ve all read it, we’ve studied it, (and) they’ve gone through a lot. And those seeking their destruction, we will seek their destruction.
Now when you have crimes like this, whether it’s this one or another one or another group, we have to bring back the death penalty. They have to pay the ultimate price. They can’t do this. They can’t do this to our country. We must draw a line in the sand and say very strongly: never again.
Trump stated
A longer clip can be found on the C-SPAN website.
The resurfaced clip comes after a bipartisan Congress passed the controversial Antisemitism Awareness Act, which was rushed through the House in the wake of protests and demonstrations taking place on college campuses across the U.S. The bill adopts the definitions and examples of antisemitism as defined by the International Holocaust Remembrance Alliance’s (IHRA). But many, including some Jews, warned that the bill completely overrides the 1st Amendment. The IHRA provides a list of examples of antisemitism:
- Calling for, aiding, or justifying the killing or harming of Jews in the name of a radical ideology or an extremist view of religion.
- Making mendacious, dehumanizing, demonizing, or stereotypical allegations about Jews as such or the power of Jews as collective — such as, especially but not exclusively, the myth about a world Jewish conspiracy or of Jews controlling the media, economy, government or other societal institutions.
- Accusing Jews as a people of being responsible for real or imagined wrongdoing committed by a single Jewish person or group, or even for acts committed by non-Jews.
- Denying the fact, scope, mechanisms (e.g. gas chambers) or intentionality of the genocide of the Jewish people at the hands of National Socialist Germany and its supporters and accomplices during World War II (the Holocaust).
- Accusing the Jews as a people, or Israel as a state, of inventing or exaggerating the Holocaust.
- Accusing Jewish citizens of being more loyal to Israel, or to the alleged priorities of Jews worldwide, than to the interests of their own nations.
- Denying the Jewish people their right to self-determination, e.g., by claiming that the existence of a State of Israel is a racist endeavor.
- Applying double standards by requiring of it a behavior not expected or demanded of any other democratic nation.
- Using the symbols and images associated with classic antisemitism (e.g., claims of Jews killing Jesus or blood libel) to characterize Israel or Israelis.
- Drawing comparisons of contemporary Israeli policy to that of the Nazis.
- Holding Jews collectively responsible for actions of the state of Israel.
ADL Urged Congress To Pass Revised FISA Act To ‘Protect Israel’
In April, Congress passed a revised FISA Act, an overreaching snooping act that allows the FBI to conduct warrantless searches on all of American’s privately stored electronic and telecommunications data. Edward Snowden, a former contractor for the NSA turned whistleblower, warned days later that the “NSA is just DAYS from taking over the internet.”
That sweeps in an enormous range of U.S. businesses that provide wifi to their customers and therefore have access to equipment on which communications transit. Barber shops, laundromats, fitness centers, hardware stores, dentist’s offices.
Elizabeth Goitein, the co-director of the Liberty and National Security Program at the Brennan Center for Justice, also warned in a statement
However, before Congress went to vote it was revealed that the Anti-Defamation League (ADL) was adamant that this bill pass because it would be used to “protect Israel,” they claimed.
As reported by Information Liberation, the ADL and the Conference of Presidents of Major American Jewish Organizations cosigned a letter to House Speaker Mike Johnson and Minority Leader Hakeem Jeffries to get this legislation passed. They provided two main reasons why in their letter:
(1) the safety and security of Israel; and (2) the need to protect Jews in the U.S. — indeed, all Americans — from terrorist threats.
In the U.S., indications of foreign involvement in domestic antisemitic events in the wake of October 7 highlight the need for the Executive Branch to retain this vital tool.
They wrote
They went on to say they were “deeply concerned” about proposals to wrangle in the snooping law by requiring a warrant to examine “information previously obtained through use of Section 702,” which they claimed would “hobble vital intelligence and law enforcement authorities.”
A few weeks ago ADL CEO Jonathan Greenblatt went to Columbia University and demanded that the NYPD or National Guard be sent in to deal with pro-Palestine protesters, adding wearing masks should be illegal.
Days after the October 7th attack, Greenblatt accused pro-Palestine protesters of being “accomplices” in Hamas’ attacks. Last month on MSNBC he accused these protestors of being “proxies” for Iran. “Iran has their military proxies like Hezbollah, and Iran has their campus proxies like these groups, like Students for Justice in Palestine, Jewish Voice for Peace,” he said.
AUTHOR COMMENTARY
Proverbs 18:6 A fool’s lips enter into contention, and his mouth calleth for strokes. [7] A fool’s mouth is his destruction, and his lips are the snare of his soul.
When you go around making bold statements like this – “And those seeking their destruction, we will seek their destruction” – are only going to result in more violence. Sure, attacks and murder against anyone needs to be condemned; but in light of the bill that was just passed it now adds a whole new complexity to this. And, we find out that the ADL was pushing hard to get this Orwellian censorship bill passed because this is supposed to “protect Israel.” Again, keep that in mind in light of the Antisemitism Awareness Act.
I encourage you to read my commentary on the passage of the Antisemitism Awareness Act for more context on this and the Bible’s statements on the Jewish people and the nation of Israel now, and what will become of them. [7] Who goeth a warfare any time at his own charges? who planteth a vineyard, and eateth not of the fruit thereof? or who feedeth a flock, and eateth not of the milk of the flock? [8] Say I these things as a man? or saith not the law the same also? [9] For it is written in the law of Moses, Thou shalt not muzzle the mouth of the ox that treadeth out the corn. Doth God take care for oxen? [10] Or saith he it altogether for our sakes? For our sakes, no doubt, this is written: that he that ploweth should plow in hope; and that he that thresheth in hope should be partaker of his hope. (1 Corinthians 9:7-10).

This country is circling the drain, with ongoing pro Hamas rallies and demonstrations in the U.S. and overseas. This shows Islamic terrorists are everywhere and keep coming into these countries incl ours. These rallies show PLO/Hamas scarves and head coverings (same fabric and design) worn by Palestinians during reign of terror led by Yasser Arafat for years, high jacking planes overseas and murder rampages. Jihadists incl home grown are here to help destroy this country further.
