The surveillance system is called PaintCam Eve, created by a Slovenia-based company called OZ-IT. ‘A line of autonomous property monitoring devices that will utilize motion detection and facial recognition to guard against supposed intruders,’ Popular Science reported.
Touted as the first of its kind, the website says, “PaintCam’s advanced technology detects both humans and pets, utilizing state-of-the-art facial recognition to distinguish between welcome guests and potential intruders. In the event of an unwanted intrusion, our system springs into action, deploying paintball markers or tear gas to deter the intruder and mark them for easy identification by authorities.”
The company adds, “With advanced AI technology EVE can detect and track objects in real-time while seamlessly adapting to challenging low-light conditions. But it doesn’t stop there; her intelligence extends to recognizing individuals, animals, and various objects with precision.”
The company also says the cameras can be loaded with teargas balls or shoot UV lights.
The cameras can connect with user’s smartphones, and users can monitor their property in real-time.
Though the cameras have built-in AI, the company sells several different tier models. The ‘Eve+’ comes with “animal detection,” whereas the basic model does not, and the top tier Eve Pro comes loaded with “face detection.”
Popular Science added: ‘Presumably, determining pre-authorized visitors would involve them allowing 3D facial scans to store in Eve’s system for future reference. (Because facial recognition AI has such an accurate track record devoid of racial bias.) At the very least, require owners to clear each unknown newcomer. Either way, the details are sparse on PaintCam’s website.’
The company will begin their Kickstarter campaign on April 23rd.

I feel like this will be a litigation nightmare if this thing fires on delivery drivers and children, and feel the wrath of animal rights groups complaining that the Eve shot a squirrel. And what happens if it gets hacked and the hacker uses it against whomever?
The blueness of a wound cleanseth away evil: so do stripes the inward parts of the belly.

On one hand, it could deter a trespasser, especially if struck in the right spots; but on the other, I absolutely hate the spying and surveillance we go anymore. Everyone just oppresses and spies on each other, and it’s sad state of affairs; not to mention that this information will eventually find itself way to other third-parties.
Maybe if it fires baby powder – that’ll do the trick! SEE: Silly: Hawaii Approves $80 And $50 “Blast Sticks” For Self-Defense, Fires Baby Powder At Criminals
[7] Who goeth a warfare any time at his own charges? who planteth a vineyard, and eateth not of the fruit thereof? or who feedeth a flock, and eateth not of the milk of the flock? [8] Say I these things as a man? or saith not the law the same also? [9] For it is written in the law of Moses, Thou shalt not muzzle the mouth of the ox that treadeth out the corn. Doth God take care for oxen? [10] Or saith he it altogether for our sakes? For our sakes, no doubt, this is written: that he that ploweth should plow in hope; and that he that thresheth in hope should be partaker of his hope. (1 Corinthians 9:7-10).

Paintballs, LOLOL! program that dude to go full-auto on-em! HAHA. How about just have an alarm go off and I’ll take care of the rest, if ya worried about hurting the perp than use rock salt in ya buck-shot. In this world a red dot has better results.
They just don’t get it; if all are armed then no one tries to rob another, just a suggestion that goes over like a dung-bunny in the punch bowl.
David, you’re very short-sighted! Not all people are “perps”. What if someone is in trouble and runs to your house to get help? These are setting the homeowner up for assault charges, and perhaps mischief too. This will be a huge money-maker for the judiciary.
18 They hunt our steps, that we cannot go in our streets: our end is near, our days are fulfilled; for our end is come.
19 Our persecutors are swifter than the eagles of the heaven: they pursued us upon the mountains, they laid wait for us in the wilderness.

Amen.
I guess it beats Rover the flame-thrower! But have a feeling that Skywatcher is right about the true intent. More litigation & agitation making money & transferring wealth all the way. Besides that, people are getting so agitated & hair trigger that it could end up with the paint-balled opening fire on the home & homeowners…..while the real perps are set for that anyways. Nothing beats lex rex and second amendment in this fallen.
kddlporter, it’s definitely going to “light a few fuses” and lead to some unwanted repercussions, methinks.
I’m glad I found this webpage. I was looking for something else when I stumbled on it. Nice content.
‘Her’ intelligence, as if IT were sentient.
At any rate, couple Eve with Ring and what do you have? You have Eve assaulting your neighbors walking their dog in the street in front of your house, merely because the owner of both items lives in a state of paranoia.
The possibilities are rife,
