After the Florida Senate passed an updated SB 1084: Department of Agriculture and Consumer Services, Governor Ron DeSantis signed the bill into law that bans the production and sale of lab-grown, cell-cultured meats in the state, becoming the first state in the country to do so.
Cited by the Florida Phoenix, the Governor tore into plant meats and the ambitions of globalists to force these concoctions on the masses, ultimately phasing-out real meat, he said during a ceremony in the Hardee County Cattleman’s Arena in Wauchula, where he first compared it to citrus greening and hurricanes. He stated:
“Those are, though, natural disasters — those are acts of God.
“What we’re protecting here is the industry against acts of man, against an ideological agenda that wants to finger agriculture as the problem, that views things like raising cattle as destroying our climate.
“These will be people who will lecture the rest of us about things like global warming — they will say that, you know, you can’t drive an internal combustion engine vehicle, they’ll say that agriculture is bad. Meanwhile, they’re flying to Davos in their private jets and they’re living like they would ever want to live.
“So, this is really a vision of imposing restrictions on freedoms for everyday people while these elites are effectively pulling the strings, calling the shots, and doing whatever the hell they want to do in their own lives. And we’ve said in Florida, these folks like the World Economic Forum in Davos that they meet and they scheme, those policies are dead on arrival in the state of Florida.
“They want to basically eliminate meat, they want to eliminate cattle, they want to eliminate chickens, all this stuff, and they want to create protein in laboratories. So, it’s essentially lab-created meat. And their goal is to get to a point where you will not be raising cattle, you will not be developing meat like we’ve being doing for hundreds and hundreds of years in the state of Florida.
“[…] They (the elites) know that if that was put out there to compete with normal beef they would lose. Now, they’re not at the point where they’re going to be able to execute that today, but I think part of being good stewards of these industries, of the state, of the public wellbeing, is to think forward and head off threats before they even come.
“The bill that I’m going to sign today is going to say, basically, take your fake, lab-grown meat elsewhere. We’re not doing that in the state of Florida.
“They also want you to believe that consuming insects is a, quote, overlooked source of protein and a way to battle climate change. Now, I’m sure they’ll say, hey wait a minute, just hear us out before you say yuck. And to that I say, Florida has heard enough on that.
“This is not just being done willy-nilly. They want to do this stuff in a lab to be able to wipe the people sitting here out of business. We will not let that happen in the great state of Florida.
“Some people think Florida is theme parks, South Beach, and maybe some oranges, but they don’t really understand that, you know, we have one of the top cattle industries in the country.
“But what they’re doing with the lab-grown, is what they want to say is this the same as raising cattle and doing it naturally, then there’s no reason that you have this industry. So, it is designed to represent a threat to agriculture as we know it. It is not just about having a product on the market. That’s the first step but they want much more than that. And I think we’re snuffing this out at the beginning.”
Florida’s now updated SB 1084: Department of Agriculture and Consumer Services was passed in the state Senate in a vote of 86-27, and is now headed to Governor Ron DeSantis’ desk to be codified into law – “prohibiting the manufacture for sale, sale, holding or offering for sale, or distribution of cultivated meat in this state, etc.,” the bill states.
Representative Dean Black (R-Jacksonville), stated it’s okay to create “moon meat” for astronauts, but cattlemen such as himself would not advocate for it.
I think they can make it on the Moon and export it on Mars, and it’s fine to have Martian meat as well. If you go to the moon, if you go to Mars, you should be allowed to get it there. But you sure as heck shouldn’t be able to get it anywhere in this country, and sure as heck not here in Florida.
Black said
NBC Miami added: ‘Democrats took aim at parts of the bill that would ban the sale and manufacture of cultivated meat, which DeSantis has denounced as “fake meat,” and prevent local governments from regulating electric-vehicle charging stations. Rep. Lindsay Cross (D-St. Petersburg), said both bans are intended to “stop innovation, put barriers on the free market and to lock us into existing frameworks.”‘
The Spoon also noted that ‘in the US, the Florida bill is similar to other legislation making its way through state legislatures in Arizona, Tennessee, and West Virginia. All of it concerns an industry that, at least to this point, is commercially non-existent, with the exception of sales at a couple of high-end restaurants.’
Meanwhile Iowa is expected to pass a bill that would ban using the term ‘meat’ on lab-grown and protein substitutes.
Wild Type CEO Justin Kolbeck, a company which produces lab-grown seafood, said in a statement: “I’ve got more than enough challenges. I don’t also need Florida to ban it to make the market smaller.”

Last year Italy banned lab-grown meats citing a threat to Italian culture. France is currently considering doing the same.
AUTHOR COMMENTARY
Though I am not a fan of DeSantis, as I have explained in a number of other reports, you still have to give credit where credit is due. Good that Florida and any other state is working to ban this stuff.
The fight is not yet over, and the elites pushing this slop will not relent, so stay vigilant as we continue to monitor this trend.

I’ll say it again and again; God gave us cattle to eat, morons.
Agreed and amen, David!
I’m not eating lab-grown fake meats no way, when whales fly! When they say plant based they mean manufacturing plants!
Good for Florida! Unfortunately, this would never happen up here in
communist DemonRat run Connecticut!
Praise the Lord!! I live in Northwest Florida so I am well pleased to hear Governor De Santis denouncing this fake garbage. That garbage should be banned in all of the USA.
Grown? It’s not alive is it? So sounds to me like cancerous material like they use in vaccines.
