Ghana has sparked ire from the West after the African nation passed a tough LGTBQIA+ law that jails residents for the “willful promotion, sponsorship or support of LGBTQ+ activities,” sentencing those found guilty up to five years in prison.

Though there is some pushback, The Guardian reports that ‘the legislation is widely supported in Ghana, where [President Nana] Akufo-Addo has said gay marriage will never be allowed while he is in power.’ The vote passed with ease with an unanimous voice vote. The bill was largely supported by Christian, Muslim, and other traditionalist leaders.

The bill has been challenged by the country’s Supreme Court. The President said the bill has not reached his desk yet, and is waiting to hear the results of the court’s findings.

I have learnt that, today, a challenge has been mounted at the Supreme Court. In the circumstances, it would be as well for all of us to hold our hands and await the decision of the Court before any action is taken.

Akufo-Addo said, reported by Africa News

Backlash from nations abroad have already started to swell.

Africa News reported: ‘Ghana’s finance ministry has warned the country stands to lose a substantial amount of financing from international banks estimated at USD$3.8 billion over the next five to six years.’

The Presidency may have a structured engagement with local conservative forces such as religious bodies and faith-based organizations to communicate the economic implications of the passage of the ‘Anti-LGBTQ’ Bill and to build a stronger coalition and a framework for supporting key development initiative that is likely to be affected.

The finance ministry said in a statement

The African Diaspora News Channel reported today that the United States is urging Ghana to reconsider. The host pointed out that the country should brace for, and is probably already expecting, sanctions and bullying from the U.S. and other parts of the West.

Last year Uganda enacted a much harsher law that banned same-sex marriages and LGTBQIA+ proliferation, sentencing the guilty to 20 years in prison, and perhaps even a death sentence if the crime is egregious enough.

Russia passed a law in late-2022 the prohibited LGTBQIA+ media and propaganda as well.

South Africa is the only African nation that legally protects same-sex marriages since 2006.

As cold waters to a thirsty soul, so is good news from a far country.

Proverbs 25:25

Good for Ghana and good for Africa for taking a stand against this stuff.

Clearly the East is going one direction by stomping this abomination out, and the West continues to keep pushing the vortex of what is considered “normal” and acceptable. The East has their problems, sure, by the Western nations are just these utterly evil and vile places, husks of their former selves, having fallen so far and forsaken everything that once made them great; kicking out the word of God completely, and it shows.

Righteousness exalteth a nation: but sin is a reproach to any people.

Proverbs 14:34

[7] Who goeth a warfare any time at his own charges? who planteth a vineyard, and eateth not of the fruit thereof? or who feedeth a flock, and eateth not of the milk of the flock? [8] Say I these things as a man? or saith not the law the same also? [9] For it is written in the law of Moses, Thou shalt not muzzle the mouth of the ox that treadeth out the corn. Doth God take care for oxen? [10] Or saith he it altogether for our sakes? For our sakes, no doubt, this is written: that he that ploweth should plow in hope; and that he that thresheth in hope should be partaker of his hope. (1 Corinthians 9:7-10).

  • Could it be that the curse of Caanan stings a bit more in the African countries? Whatever, kudos to the country of Ghana.

  • “The bill was largely supported by Christian (read Roman Catholic), Muslim, and other traditionalist leaders.”

2 Corinthians 10:3 For though we walk in the flesh, we do not war after the flesh:
4 (For the weapons of our warfare are not carnal, but mighty through God to the pulling down of strong holds;)
    5 Casting down imaginations, and every high thing that exalteth itself against the knowledge of God, and bringing into captivity every thought to the obedience of Christ;

Am I the only one that sees a problem with supporting state violence against the lost?

Roman Catholics and Muslims use CARNAL WEAPONS on the lost: the strong arm of the STATE.
Bible-believing Christians use the SPIRITUAL SWORD on the lost: THE KING JAMES BIBLE.

  • I’m not sure if many people in Ghana know the King James Bible but they are doing right on this issue, avoiding the snares of heathen worldy ways, unlike the masses in the West, joining in with the popular societal trends, lapping up everything the governments and mainstream media offers, and there are consequences, presently happening and coming soon (it happened to God’s chosen people in the past, what makes you think it won’t happen again, Jews and Gentile unbelievers that reject Jesus Christ and his words, the KJB?):

    Judges 2:1-3
1 And an angel of the Lord came up from Gilgal to Bochim, and said, I made you to go up out of Egypt, and have brought you unto the land which I sware unto your fathers; and I said, I will never break my covenant with you. 2 And ye shall make no league with the inhabitants of this land; ye shall throw down their altars: but ye have not obeyed my voice: why have ye done this? 3 Wherefore I also said, I will not drive them out from before you; but they shall be as thorns in your sides, and their gods shall be a snare unto you.

    Joshua 23:11-13
11 Take good heed therefore unto yourselves, that ye love the Lord your God. 12 Else if ye do in any wise go back, and cleave unto the remnant of these nations, even these that remain among you, and shall make marriages with them, and go in unto them, and they to you:

13 KNOW FOR A CERTAINTY that the Lord your God will no more drive out any of these nations from before you; but they shall be snares and traps unto you, and scourges in your sides, and thorns in your eyes, until ye perish from off this good land which the Lord your God hath given you.

    Jeremiah 6:19
19 Hear, O earth: behold, I will bring evil upon this people, even the fruit of their thoughts, because they have not hearkened unto my words, nor to my law, but rejected it.

  • It’s good to know that this country isn’t afraid to speak their mind, like most countries are. It’s pretty harsh, but oh well, if that’s what they want, then the people better abide by it or be punished if they get caught.
