After constant harassment from the United States and their increasing aggression in the region, Iran has deployed a warship to the Red Sea, in a sign that the regional conflict between Israel and Hamas is expanding some more. On top of that, regional militia group has formally declared war on Israel, in what will mostly greatly exacerbate the war in the Middle East.

In a briefing by the Tasnim News Agency, a state-funded publication in Iran, reported on the deployment of their warship to the Red Sea. The agency drew no connection to growing conflicts in the area. Tasnim reported:

The Iranian Navy has dispatched a destroyer to the Red Sea as part of the flotillas that take part in regular missions in international waters.

The Alborz destroyer, operating as a military vessel of the 94th flotilla of the Iranian Navy, crossed the Bab-el-Mandeb Strait and entered the Red Sea on Monday.

The Iranian Navy has set up three ocean commands supervising naval missions to the Indian Ocean, the Pacific Ocean and the Atlantic Ocean.

In a meeting with a number of commanders and officials of Iran’s Navy in November 2022, Leader of the Islamic Revolution Ayatollah Seyed Ali Khamenei stressed the need for the Navy to bolster and maintain its presence in international waters.

The Leader also emphasized the need for the Navy to boost its combat capabilities and defense equipment and to continue navigation in remote and international waters.

Meanwhile in the days leading up to this, U.S. forces in the region sunk several merchant ships belonging to the Houthis from Yemen. This came after a number of American and international freighter ships have been getting attacked for weeks in the Red Sea, forcing companies to take detour routes to avoid getting attacked, causing a backlog of goods as ships take longer routes.

Navy Times reports that Houthis forces attempted to attack and hijack a Maersk-owned ship, and U.S. forces in the region responded to a distress signal on Sunday after the vessel was attacked again.

CENTCOM officials said the same ship issued an additional distress call about a second attack “by four Iranian-backed Houthi small boats.”

[…] “The U.S. Navy helicopters returned fire in self-defense,” sinking three of the four boats and killing the crews, the statement said. The fourth boat fled the area, the release added. No damage to U.S. personnel or equipment was reported.

Hezbollah Declares War

As the Israel-Hamas war broke out in October, Hezbollah had warned that they could get involved. Now it appears that Hezbollah will indeed step up their aggression towards Israel, vehemently deriding Israel’s operations in Gaza and attacks in Lebanon.

Hezbollah’s Deputy Secretary-General Naim Qassem announced this state of war on Sunday, December 31st.

He stated in full:

“Israel” is not in a position to impose its options. Rather, it is in a position to respond and confront the toughness of the resistance in responding to aggression, in refusing to consolidate the Israeli project, and in preventing “Israel” from achieving its goals in Gaza, Lebanon, and the region.

“Israel” cannot return the settlers to the north in the heart of the battle, and it cannot obtain any gain neither in this battle nor at its end. It must first stop the Gaza war so that the war in Lebanon can stop.

With the continued bombing of civilians in Lebanon, this means that the response will be stronger and will be proportional to the Israeli aggression.

We have made our decisions to be in a state of war and confrontation on the southern front, facing “Israel” in a manner consistent with the requirements of the battle.

If “Israel” persists, the response to it will be stronger, and if it threatens “Israel,” our threats have no value, because we will be ready and present, and we did not fight this battle for fun or in vain. Rather, we fought it because it was necessary in order to put an end to this Israeli enemy and its arrogance. And its continued violation of sanctities and its malicious and vile aggression against Gaza.

Although we know that the sacrifices we are making are great, these sacrifices are important and required and require greater sacrifices and break a dangerous project for Palestine and the region.

In the name of God, the most gracious, the most merciful “Permission is given to those who fight because they have been wronged, and indeed, God is Able to grant them victory.”

In continuation of our approach to resisting the American occupation forces in Iraq and the region, and in response to the Zionist entity’s massacres against our people in Gaza, the Mujahideen of the Islamic Resistance in Iraq attacked the occupied Rmelan base in Syria, using drones, and the Islamic Resistance confirms its continued destruction of enemy strongholds.

And victory is only from God. Indeed, God is Mighty, All-Wise.

The earth is moved at the noise of their fall, at the cry the noise thereof was heard in the Red sea.

[7] Who goeth a warfare any time at his own charges? who planteth a vineyard, and eateth not of the fruit thereof? or who feedeth a flock, and eateth not of the milk of the flock? [8] Say I these things as a man? or saith not the law the same also? [9] For it is written in the law of Moses, Thou shalt not muzzle the mouth of the ox that treadeth out the corn. Doth God take care for oxen? [10] Or saith he it altogether for our sakes? For our sakes, no doubt, this is written: that he that ploweth should plow in hope; and that he that thresheth in hope should be partaker of his hope. (1 Corinthians 9:7-10).
