Adding to a litany of issues levied against former President Donald Trump, on December 19th, the Colorado Supreme Court ruled in a 4-3 verdict that Trump has been disqualified from the the state’s 2024 election ballot. The four who ruled in favor cite the 14th Amendment as justification, because they believe Trump helped to incite an insurrection on January 6th, 2021.

The 14th Amendment was codified into law after the Civil War. The Amendment has five sections, but the third part is where the Colorado Judges cited as reason to prohibit Trump’s name from being on the ballot.

No person shall be a Senator or Representative in Congress, or elector of President and Vice-President, or hold any office, civil or military, under the United States, or under any State, who, having previously taken an oath, as a member of Congress, or as an officer of the United States, or as a member of any State legislature, or as an executive or judicial officer of any State, to support the Constitution of the United States, shall have engaged in insurrection or rebellion against the same, or given aid or comfort to the enemies thereof. But Congress may by a vote of two-thirds of each House, remove such disability.

Amendment XIV, section III, says

ZeroHedge reported, ‘Colorado’s highest court – whose seven-member bench was entirely appointed by Democratic governors – overturned a ruling from a district court judge who found that Trump incited an insurrection for his role in the Jan. 6, 2021, attack on the Capitol, but said he could not be barred from the ballot because it was unclear that the provision was intended to cover the presidency.’

The outlet added: ‘In its ruling, the Democrat-controlled court found that Trump engaged in insurrection by inflaming his supporters with false claims of election fraud and directing them to the Capitol. The state justices determined that the office of the president is covered under the insurrection clause, which specifically lists those who previously took oaths to support the Constitution as “a member of Congress,” “officer of the United States,” “member of any State legislature” or an “executive or judicial officer of any State.” The district court had previously ruled that the office of the president was not covered under the clause.’

We do not reach these conclusions lightly. We are mindful of the magnitude and weight of the questions now before us. We are likewise mindful of our solemn duty to apply the law, without fear or favor, and without being swayed by public reaction to the decisions that the law mandates we reach.

The court’s majority wrote

Of course, Trump’s campaign responded:

Unsurprisingly, the all-Democrat appointed Colorado Supreme Court has ruled against President Trump, supporting a Soros-funded, left-wing group’s scheme to interfere in an election on behalf of Crooked Joe Biden by removing President Trump’s name from the ballot and eliminating the rights of Colorado voters to vote for the candidate of their choice.

We have full confidence that the U.S. Supreme Court will quickly rule in our favor and finally put an end to these un-American lawsuits.

A campaign spokesman, Steven Cheung, said

Since the Colorado Supreme Court issued their ruling, a number of legal scholars and other commentators have pointed out that the 14th Amendment, in this context, does not apply to Trump. Among those who posited this position was Republican Presidential candidate Vivek Ramaswamy. In statement he said:

It was passed to prohibit former Confederate military and political leaders from holding high federal or state office. These men had clearly taken part in a rebellion against the United States: the Civil War. That makes it all the more absurd that a left-wing group in Colorado is asking a federal court to disqualify the 45th President on the same grounds, equating his speech to rebellion against the United States.

And there’s another legal problem: Trump is not a former “officer of the United States,” as that term is used in the Constitution, meaning Section 3 does not apply. As the Supreme Court explained in Free Enterprise Fund v. Public Company Accounting Oversight Board (2010), an “officer of the United States” is someone appointed by the President to aid him in his duties under Article II, Section 2. The term does not apply to elected officials, and certainly not to the President himself.

The Framers of the 14th Amendment would be appalled to see this narrow provision—intended to bar former U.S. officials who switched to the Confederacy from seeking public office—being weaponized by a sitting President and his political allies to prevent a former President from seeking reelection. Our country is becoming unrecognizable to our Founding Fathers.

Since then Ramaswamy has said that he will have his name removed from the Colorado ballot, standing with Trump in this regard, until his name be restored. He also challenged his opponents to renounce their names as well.

So far, all the GOP rivals on the campaign trail have condemned the action by Colorado and stand with Trump on this issue.

However, DeSantis has said that he will still be putting his name on the ballot. He did suggest that Biden should be banned from the ballots.

I don’t see this holding up in the Supreme Court.

To me, this action by the Colorado Supreme Court is akin to what the New Mexico governor did a few months ago, where she pretended to play queen, and by executive order decreed that open and concealed carry of firearms was illegal, citing a health emergency. Obviously she has zero authority to do that, and was shot down very fast within days, on top of basically none of the sheriffs and departments in the state willing to enforce it. But what that did do was set a very dangerous precedent, and was designed to test out the reaction that would generate.

I think what happened here is similar to that. This will not hold up, but it sets a precedent and only enrages his fanbase even more, and just sways those who are on the fence. SEE: Predictive Programming: New Movie Called “Civil War” Forecasts Another Civil War In The United States

Of course, as regular readers already know what I am going to say, that this is just more theater and daily soap opera drama per usual. The Americans need a good story to be entertained with, just like the Athenians of Paul’s day. “Acts 17:21 – (For all the Athenians and strangers which were there spent their time in nothing else, but either to tell, or to hear some new thing.)” The next President has already been handpicked; this is just a formality. And then you got Ramaswamy and his vain jangling, trying to be Trump’s lapdog chihuahua.

Let not this faux persecution of Trump blind you to reality to who he really is and what he’s all about, and what he’s done. You can read my many articles about this, stuff that no one on either camp is willing to discuss, especially the alt platforms and MAGA prophets.

As a heads-up, the 2024 election will be used as a major distraction for all the real problems that will be unfolding next year, and therefore the media will be pushing it harder than ever. I will of course be covering some of it, sure, but not so much as well. Though most will not listen to me, I urge you not to give the election all that much credence. It’s a distraction from the real problems at hand. Nothing will change anyways, assuming we have a functioning country to run by the end of 2024…

[8] Say I these things as a man? or saith not the law the same also? [9] For it is written in the law of Moses, Thou shalt not muzzle the mouth of the ox that treadeth out the corn. Doth God take care for oxen? [10] Or saith he it altogether for our sakes? For our sakes, no doubt, this is written: that he that ploweth should plow in hope; and that he that thresheth in hope should be partaker of his hope. (1 Corinthians 9:7-10).

  • I have learned about Trump, and won’t ever vote for him again, another corrupted Jesuit.
But Jan 6th was no insurrection, it was all pre-planned and allowed to happen, just saying
Why not vote for Wiley E. Coyote, hehehe.

I vote for: The Lord Jesus Christ

    • Oh there’s no question that was staged and planned. I did a report the day it happened, and events leading up to it, that more than proved it was a totally planned event. “A new set of rules” would be put in place, I said back then.
