During a video interview with the BBC’s Laura Kuenssberg Herzog presented a copy of the book that purportedly was found in a children’s room used as a base by terrorists in the northern Gaza Strip, nabbed off the body of a dead soldier. He also addressed a recent raid on a hospital that was reportedly under Hamas’ control and used as a base of operations. He stated:
This is Adolf Hitler’s book, Mein Kampf, translated into Arabic. This is the book that led to the Holocaust and the book that led to World War II. This book was found a few days ago in northern Gaza. In a child’s room, which became a base used for terrorist activities by the terrorist organization Hamas.
The terrorist wrote notes, marked the sections, and studied again and again, the ideology of Adolf Hitler to hate the Jews, to kill the Jews, to burn and slaughter Jews wherever they are. This is the real war we are facing.
There is a lot of spin by Hamas. There is electricity in Shifa, everything is operating. We’re speaking to the managers. We haven’t gone into Shifa where unfortunately underneath Shifa, there is a huge, huge terror base, actually the headquarters, the headquarters of the Hamas ISIS operations is right there under Shifa.
Now exactly what are we supposed to do? Leave it as is and then in a few years time go again through the same motions – and you will say it’s disproportionate and we will have civilians being killed? So we are calling on all of those uninvolved to go out to another hospital nearby, and we’re coordinating it very delicately with all forces around that place. Hamas is stopping them.
Herzog said
In an separate statement from Herzog’s office, the President stated:
This discovery testifies to the sources of inspiration of the terrorist organization Hamas and proves once again that all its actions have one goal — the destruction of Jews.
The civilian home had included an explosives laboratory, and represented further proof of Hamas’s terrorist activity in the heart of the civilian population in Gaza.
After the massacre and atrocities committed by Hamas terrorists on October 7 — the day on which the largest number of Jews were murdered since the Holocaust — this is another revelation that testifies to the sources of inspiration of the terrorist organization Hamas, and proves once again that all its actions have the same goal as the Nazis — the destruction of Jews.

Mein Kampf has seen a resurgence in popularity these past decades. In 2014 ABC News reported that ‘two electronic versions of “Mein Kampf” ranked 12th and 15th in the Politics & Current events section of the iTunes book store. On Amazon, Hitler’s polemic ranked number one in the Propaganda & Political psychology section.’
Around the same time The Times of Israel noted the book’s growth in readership in the Middle East and Muslim-dominated countries. The paper wrote: ‘In translation, “Mein Kampf” has been a bestseller in the Arab world and Turkey, where anti-Semitic propaganda is pervasive in some circles. The World Jewish Congress, which has little sway in the Muslim world, has tried to get Amazon and iTunes to stop carrying Hitler’s screed, but the mega-company, whose owner Jeff Bezos recently purchased The Washington Post, has declined to reply to the request.’
In 2005 The Guardian noted that sales of Mein Kampf soared in Turkey, a Muslim nation that has deep resentment for the nation of Israel. The paper wrote at the time: ‘The dreams of creating a master race are being snapped up by young Turks. Its publishers believe that more than 100,000 copies have been sold in the past two months.’
This alleged evidence comes at a time when clips of Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu he reemerged, asserting that Hitler was not primarily responsible for the Holocaust and did not want to kill them, but was actually influenced by the Mufti of Jerusalem, Haj Amin al-Husseini, in 1941.
Hitler didn’t want to exterminate the Jews at the time, he wanted to expel the Jew. And Haj Amin al-Husseini went to Hitler and said, ‘If you expel them, they’ll all come here (to Palestine).’
[Hitler then asked]: ‘What should I do with them?’ [The Mufti replied]: ‘Burn them.’ Netanyahu said
The remarks both then and now have drawn heavy criticism for such remarks, including Herzog at the time who stated:
This is a dangerous distortion of history and I demand that Netanyahu correct it immediately because it trivializes the Holocaust, the Nazis, and the terrible dictator Adolf Hitler’s share in the terrible tragedy of our people in the Holocaust. It falls like ripe fruit straight into the hands of Holocaust deniers, and involves them in the Palestinian conflict.
Netanyahu has forgotten that he is not only the Israeli prime minister, he is also the prime minister of the Jewish people. No one will teach me what a hater of Israel the mufti was. He gave the order to kill my grandfather, Rabbi [Yitzhak HaLevi] Herzog, and actively supported Hitler.

Once again I must point out and continue to point out that Hamas is a funded and admitted creation of the United States and Israel as a method to divide conquer the Palestinians. You can be the judge of this evidence presented by Herzog, whether you think this is legit or not. I will just say this as one caveat: possessing a copy automatically does not make you a Nazi. You can buy a copy of it at Barnes & Noble Bookstore or Amazon, for example, and owning it does not make you a Nazi or a sympathizer.
Notwithstanding, whatever the case maybe, if this is real or if this Israeli propaganda, it will of course be used as ensign as to defend and justify any action Israel performs; and on the flipside, will only enrage the Muslim world to further cry poppycock and lies from Israel, and will ramp-up their acts of aggression against Jews and anyone who defends Israel.

Mein Kampf is actually a bestseller in Islamic nations. With that said, this is a psychological operations warfare tactic to get Israel heated up while simultaneously triggering the Muslims.
