“Such a sloppy attitude towards memory, and memory should be preserved in relation to the Nazis, no matter how old they were, there is no statute of limitations for these crimes … such sloppiness, of course, is outrageous. It is outrageous,” the Kremlin spokesperson said.

Canada is facing unilateral backlash after its Parliament invited and honored a bona fide Nazi war veteran who fought against the Soviet Union in World War II.

98-year-old Ukrainian Yaroslav Hunka fought in a Third Reich military formation accused of war crimes, was given a standing ovation multiple times over for his efforts in fighting the Russians, though who he fought for was never openly addressed.

Speaker of the House of Commons Anthony Rota enthralled the entire House, saying Hunka is a “veteran from the Second World War who fought for Ukrainian independence against the Russians and continues to support the troops today even at his age of 98.”

His name is Yaroslav Hunka… he is a Ukrainian hero, a Canadian hero, and we thank him for all his service,” Rota continued before a second round of applause.

Rota added

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky was of course a guest speaker at the spectacle, with Canada renewing their vows to continue their allyship with Ukraine. He said ‘Canada has always been on the “bright side of history” in fighting previous wars and said it has helped saved thousands of lives in this war with aid,’ the Associated Press reported.

Citing that AP report, Breitbart wrote:

The news wire service identified Hunka as a former member of the “First Ukrainian Division in World War II”. The division is also known as the 14th Waffen Grenadier Division of the SS (1st Galician), a division comprised mostly of Ukrainian volunteers after being established by Nazi Germany in 1943.

Despite the International Military Tribunal in Nuremberg in 1946 concluding that the Waffen-SS was guilty of “many massacres and atrocities in occupied territories,” the government of Canada in 1950 decided to allow Ukrainians who served in the Waffen-SS to be admitted into the country from the UK. “These Ukrainians should be subject to special security screening, but should not be rejected on the grounds of their service in the German army,” the Canadian cabinet said at the time.

In a Ukrainian language post on the blog Combatant News attributed to Hunak, he claimed to have joined the Nazi military division in 1943. The post also featured pictures of himself during the war, including his apparent training by the SS in Munich.

One of several photos on a blog by an SS Galichina veterans’ group that shows Yaroslav Hunka, the Ukrainian immigrant honored by the Canadian Parliament during a visit by Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy. Hunka is in the front row, middle.

Forward, an independent Jewish outlet, further highlighted personal autobiographies where Hunka relished in his accomplishments:

A blog by an association of its veterans, called “Combatant News” in Ukrainian, includes an autobiographical entry by a Yaroslav Hunka that says he volunteered to join the division in 1943 and several photographs of him during the war. The captions say the pictures show Hunka during SS artillery training in Munich in December 1943 and in Neuhammer (now Świętoszów), Poland, the site of Himmler’s visit.

In posts to the blog dated 2011 and 2010, Hunka describes 1941 to 1943 as the happiest years of his life and compares the veterans of his unit, who were scattered across the world, to Jews.

University of Ottawa Political Scientist Ivan Katchanovski provided other details and photos in a twitter thread.

Since then news quickly spread that the Canada Parliament honored this Nazi soldier, drawing ire and criticism from abroad. Amidst the backlash Speaker Rota issued a statement:

I wish to make clear that no one, including fellow parliamentarians and the Ukraine delegation, was aware of my intention or of my remarks before I delivered them. This initiative was entirely my own, the individual in question being from my riding and having been brought to my attention.

I particularly want to extend my deepest apologies to Jewish communities in Canada and around the world. I accept full responsibility for my actions.

Rota explained

Prime Minister Justin Trudeau also issued an apology for the mix-up and called the event “profoundly embarrassing.”

Even The Kyiv Post also reported on the adulation for Hunka and the backlash. Jewish advocacy group the Friends of Simon Wiesenthal Center (FSWC) said in a statement:

An apology is owed to every Holocaust survivor and veteran of the Second World War who fought the Nazis, and an explanation must be provided as to how this individual entered the hallowed halls of Canadian Parliament and received recognition from the Speaker of the House and a standing ovation.

And of course Russian media and members of the Kremlin took notice and were greatly appalled at the event.

Eva Bartlett, an independent Canadian author, wrote in an op-ed published by RT, reported how this was not the first time had already openly supported Neo-Nazism in Ukraine:

Whether Trudeau (and his Stepan Bandera-sympathizing deputy PM Chrystia Freeland) knew about Yaroslav Hunka or not, the question remains: why was he never brought to justice? He, or any of the other 2,000 SS Nazis Canada reportedly took in in the years following WW2. Having been accepted as anti-communist refugees with little to no scrutiny, these suspected war criminals and collaborators have been allowed to live out the rest of their days in peace, and most of them have done so openly under their own names, as the Simon Wiesenthal Center has repeatedly reported.

Canada has also supported modern-day Nazis in Ukraine itself, by training members of the neo-Nazi Azov Battalion on Canadian soil, although Canadian corporate media has in recent years attempted to downplay this.

Radio Canada reported in April 2022 that the Canadian Armed Forces, “did contribute to the training of soldiers of the Azov regiment in 2020, to the point where this unit is now boasting of being able to train its own soldiers according to Western standards.” The Ottawa Citizen, writing about this report, cited a 2017 briefing by Canada’s Joint Task Force Ukraine as saying, “Multiple members of Azov have described themselves as Nazis.”

In November 2021, the same Ottawa Citizen journalist wrote about Canadian officials meeting with leaders from the Azov Battalion in June 2018. Canadian officers and diplomats, “did not object to the meeting and instead allowed themselves to be photographed with battalion officials despite previous warnings that the unit saw itself as pro-Nazi.”

One can only hope that there were members of parliament who were sincerely appalled to learn they’d cheered for a Nazi. However, now that the apologies have been made, the outrage will most likely simply die down and Ottawa will continue supporting the same kind of people, as long as they are on the same side in the West’s proxy war against Russia.

Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov also condemned the actions of the Canadian government:

Such a sloppy attitude towards memory, and memory should be preserved in relation to the Nazis, no matter how old they were, there is no statute of limitations for these crimes … such sloppiness, of course, is outrageous. It is outrageous.

Peskov also addressed whether or not President Vladimir Putin would be willing to conduct an interview with select American media, but is hesitant because he and his constituents say Americans have been thoroughly brainwashed with anti-Russian propaganda.

Every day we receive dozens of requests from international media, including American ones, asking president Putin to give an interview. We believe that there will definitely come a time when such an interview will be required.

But at the moment, firstly, when in one way or another the public is seriously brainwashed by such Russophobic propaganda, it is unlikely that anyone is now able to soberly perceive Putin’s analysis of the situation, his vision of the future, and so on.

Peskov aded

Putin said earlier this year that they, Russia, are once again fighting against Nazis, both in Ukraine and against the West who has been relentless in supporting Ukraine.

It’s incredible, but it’s a fact: They are threatening us again with German Leopard tanks with crosses painted on their armor. And they are again going to fight Russia on the territory of Ukraine with the hands of Hitler’s followers, the Banderites.

Putin stated

AUTHOR COMMENTARY

Wisdom resteth in the heart of him that hath understanding: but that which is in the midst of fools is made known.

Proverbs 14:33

Of course, if you think like me, I don’t believe this was a mistake for a moment. This man has a proven track record, by his own account, and so to not do the most basic shred of preliminary research on him is undutiful and is hard to believe. However, even if the Canadian leaders did not know, it only shows just how incompetent they are, but also just how bloodthirsty, savage, and brutish they are by doing cartwheels for this Nazi murderer and monster.

Furthermore, it showcases how all bought and sold the entire Canadian House is. So to my Canadian friends out there, sorry, but your so-called “Conservatives” are no different than the ones here in the U.S. apart of the uniparty/warparty.

The WinePress has repeatedly shown the evidence that Ukraine, before the war began, was corrupt and run by bona fide Neo-Nazis; and it was the United States and NATO who broke their treaties with Russia to not move NATO “an inch” closer since 1991 – which has since seen NATO double in size and then make its way into Ukraine, in essence, by way of coup in 2014 by the U.S. to overthrow their government; which has been shelling and murdering Ukrainians in Donbass who did not side with the pro-Nazi and American puppets. These facts hardly anyone knows about.

[7] Who goeth a warfare any time at his own charges? who planteth a vineyard, and eateth not of the fruit thereof? or who feedeth a flock, and eateth not of the milk of the flock? [8] Say I these things as a man? or saith not the law the same also? [9] For it is written in the law of Moses, Thou shalt not muzzle the mouth of the ox that treadeth out the corn. Doth God take care for oxen? [10] Or saith he it altogether for our sakes? For our sakes, no doubt, this is written: that he that ploweth should plow in hope; and that he that thresheth in hope should be partaker of his hope. (1 Corinthians 9:7-10).

    • I checked it out. It is nothing more than propaganda coming from the Vatican. The papists hate the Jews and us TRUE born again Christians. I pray that your eyes are opened to the truth.

      • “For he is not a Jew, which is one outwardly, neither is that circumcision, which is outward in the flesh, but he is a Jew, which is one inwardly, and circumcision is that of the heart, in the spirit, and not in the letter” – Romans, 2.

      • Could that hatred have something to do with the following Talmudic teachings?

“The Gemara adds: Shmuel says that it is permitted to benefit from the financial error of a gentile, i.e. it needn’t be returned. The Gemara notes that it is like that incident where Shmuel purchased a golden bowl from a gentile in exchange for the price of an iron bowl, which was four dinars, and Shmuel included one additional dinar in the payment so that the gentile would not realize his mistake” (Bava Kamma, 113b:11)

  • Yeah, I thought the same. This was intentional. And Trudeau is a dumb loser, sock-puppet of Satan (and the next PM that shall come after him).

We have a lot of Ukrainians coming in in Manitoba, six in my workplace. Was asking one of them about Ukraine, she didn’t want to talk about it (she also had this wireless earphone stuck in her ear like the rest of the people here, gets annoying sometimes, warned her about those, hope she listens, but probably won’t).
