One of these so-called new variants is being called “Eris” (EG.5) said last week by outlets like the New York Post, warning that Covid cases were up 55% in New York, prompting doctors to fear new variants, the paper reported.
The most frightening thing to me is, we don’t know where that [omicron] variant came from.
That event could happen anytime. That thought sends chills down my spine.
The most frightening thing is if the virus was more deadly.
That’s really scary, if a virus had the transmissibility of COVID and was as deadly as the MERS coronavirus.
Anna Bershteyn, assistant professor in the Department of Population Health at NYU’s medical school, told The New York Post
State Health Commissioner Dr. James McDonald issued a statement in early August, saying:
As we once again see an increase in cases of COVID-19 in the State, I urge all New Yorkers to remember COVID is a treatable disease.
COVID tests are easy to use as well as highly accurate. If you test positive, speak with a health care provider about treatment, which can prevent hospitalization and death.
Since then the hysteria surrounding Covid infections have been reintroduced and pushed in the media.
Meanwhile British and European media are warning about the “Pi” variant (BA.6) infecting residents. The British Express wrote in a headline: “New ‘Pi’ variant of Covid could already be in UK as scientists call for masks to return.” The article goes on to state:
A new ‘Pi’ variant of Covid-19 could already be in the UK after scientists spotted it in Denmark and Israel.
Scientists have claimed the new variant has been dubbed the real deal, sparking speculation about whether masks and other Covid restrictions could return. Some scientists have already begun saying the public need to start wearing masks again as new variants arise and autumn appears on the horizon.
Oxford University’s Dr Trisha Greenhalgh tweeted: “It looks like it’s once again time to MASK UP.”
The World Health Organization also issued a statement on social media warning about this new variant, claiming that they are monitoring it.
Moreover, around the same time The Daily Star warned that lockdowns may return due to this sudden surge in cases. The paper wrote: ‘It also has “entirely new abilities”, and has been designated the code, variant BA.X.’
Christina Pagel, a member of the Independent Scientific Advisory Group for Emergencies, wrote in the British Medical Journal (BMJ) about her main concerns with this variant:
The first seems, unfortunately, quite plausible – a repeat of last winter’s unprecedented NHS crisis of Covid, flu, and respiratory syncytial virus hit all around the same time, especially with 50-65 year-olds now not being offered either the flu or Covid vaccine this autumn.
The second is less likely but would have a bigger impact – another Omicron-like event where a new variant emerges, very different from previous strains so that our hard won protection is much less protective.
The last couple of days have seen a new, as yet unnamed, variant show up in Israel and Denmark which has caught the attention of many experts.
Given few, if any, mitigations worldwide and much lower surveillance, such a variant could spread a long way before we realised it was a problem.
It is still quite possible that this fizzles out – either because its hosts don’t happen to infect anyone or because, despite its novelty, it does not outcompete the current dominant XBB strains.
However, this should act as a reminder that without ramping up surveillance, and in the face of waning immunity, we are travelling into winter more vulnerable and with blinkers on.

And because of these fears some places are introducing restrictions and reinstituting masks.
Today Atlanta, Georgia’s Morris Brown College has reinstated its mask mandate, becoming the first college in the nation to do so. Administrative staff claimed a rise in cases are reported and thus prompted reintroducing the mandates.
Atlanta First News reported that over the next 14 days, the university says the following protocols will be in place:
- Mask wearing
- Physical distancing
- Large gatherings guidelines
- Isolation and quarantine
- Contact tracing
- Symptom monitoring
- Regular hand washing/sanitization
In case of a positive COVID-19 test, isolate for at least five days and inform your instructor for virtual class arrangements. The institution will follow CDC guidelines.
Dr. Kevin James, president of Morris Brown College, said
‘Students said it’s the new reality we’re living with COVID,’ the outlet added.
Moreover, yesterday Hollywood studio Lionsgate announced that they will also be reintroducing a mask mandate in offices. The Hollywood Reporter noted: ‘Lionsgate sent an email to staff asking them to mask up on certain floors of its Santa Monica office after several employees caught the virus. The studio is also asking employees to conduct self-screening before coming to the office.’
Furthermore, a hospital in Dublin, Ireland, has also reinstated visitor restrictions due to a purported rise in cases.
The visitors have also been instructed to ‘please wear a mask if requested by a member of staff’, and have been discouraged from visiting if they are experiencing symptoms of the virus such as a sore throat, cough, temperature or shortness of breath.
‘The affected ward is closed to visitors. However, depending on each individual, patient care needs and compliance with the infection prevention and control measures that are currently in place, visiting may be arranged at ward level,’ a spokesperson for the hospital said.

But not to worry, new Covid boosters are set to release just in time.
Reuters reported last week, ‘Some public health experts hope that Americans will welcome the new shot as they would a flu jab. But demand for the vaccine has dropped sharply since 2021 when it first became available and more than 240 million people in the U.S., or 73% of the population, received at least one shot.’
CVS will begin offering this new round of vaccines next month.
Public health officials, if they want to see a majority of adults get these annual vaccines, they’re going to have to make the case to the American public that COVID isn’t over and it still poses a risk to them.

Both Pfizer and Moderna claim that their updated mRNA shots are effective in dealing with this new variant, according to Healio.
These new results, which show that our updated COVID-19 vaccine generates a robust immune response against the rapidly spreading EG.5 and FL.1.5.1 strains, reflects our updated vaccine’s ability to address emerging COVID-19 threats.
Moderna President Stephen Hoge, MD, said in a press release.
In a statement to Healio a Pfizer spokesperson said:
A recent study in mice showed that our updated monovalent XBB.1.5 vaccine effectively neutralized a number of omicron XBB variants, including XBB.1.5 and EG.5.1.
Novavax’s Covid shot – which has been endorsed by alt-media doctors like Dr. Robert Malone, who is credited with being a lead contributor and creator of the mRNA tech – has also reportedly been updated to handle this latest variant, Reuters reports.
The Biden White House plans to formally ask Americans to get vaccinated when the new ones become available, including the flu and RSV shots.
We will be encouraging all Americans to get those boosters in addition to flu shots and RSV shots.

I’ve been on this Earth for over half a century, and only since 2019 have I ever heard of anyone predicting the exact month a pandemic would start and the month it would be in full swing, even when (excuse the sarcasm) the information is coming from such mental giants as Alex Jones. It’s very magnanimous of them to lock us down in December when it is cold and people are indoors anyway. If they tried to scare us in the 1970s with the swine flu, the effort must have been a real dud. People back then did not scare easily and maybe that kept these lying presstitutes from that plan until a few generations became dumbed down enough to bite. Some of the few who bought into the swine flu pitch back then were later afflicted with Guillame-Barr syndrome which was traced back to those injections.

The only variants I’d be on the lookout for are renewed gusto and threats from Rome that the American people are not dying fast enough.
