Skittles, the popular candy brand owned by Mars Inc., has recently come under fire for promoting LGTBQIA+ pride and Black Lives Matter on limited edition packaging.

The packaging was released for the months of May and June for International Pride Month, but somehow managed to slip through the cracks of online scrutiny until now in recent days.

In May, Skittles officially announced that they partnered with GLAAD to donate $1 to them for every package they sold, up $100,000.

We’re proud to partner with @GLAAD to continue celebrating and amplifying the LGBTQ+ community.

Throughout May and June, we’ve partnered with LGBTQ+ artists to design and release five limited-edition SKITTLES packs that tell visual stories of Pride, and we’ll donate $1 for every Pride pack sold (up to $100,000) to GLAAD to back their ongoing efforts to work through media to support the LGBTQ+ community. We’ll be announcing additional ways we’re showing our support in the lead-up to #Pride2023.

Last year Skittles came under fire and was issued a lawsuit, with claims that they are “unfit for human consumption,” containing toxic and heavy metals.

AUTHOR COMMENTARY

I was unaware that Skittles had even run this campaign. Maybe I was just blind but I did not see a single one of these specialty packages in my area at all.

Nevertheless, that does not change the insidiousness of this, and it’s better late than never that people are becoming privy to this.

I was already not eating these poison candies and many others like it, so I was already abstaining from, and you should, too.

Even as Sodom and Gomorrha, and the cities about them in like manner, giving themselves over to fornication, and going after strange flesh, are set forth for an example, suffering the vengeance of eternal fire.

Jude 7

[7] Who goeth a warfare any time at his own charges? who planteth a vineyard, and eateth not of the fruit thereof? or who feedeth a flock, and eateth not of the milk of the flock? [8] Say I these things as a man? or saith not the law the same also? [9] For it is written in the law of Moses, Thou shalt not muzzle the mouth of the ox that treadeth out the corn. Doth God take care for oxen? [10] Or saith he it altogether for our sakes? For our sakes, no doubt, this is written: that he that ploweth should plow in hope; and that he that thresheth in hope should be partaker of his hope. (1 Corinthians 9:7-10).

  • I haven’t had Skittles in a long time, and now that time period of not eating those diabetes BBs has been extended.
