Artificial Intelligence is rapidly beginning to phase-out so many jobs around the world people cannot keep up, and now many believe they will be replaced relatively soon.
A new Ipsos poll surveyed 22,186 adults in 31 countries, which found that 36% of respondents expect AI to either eliminate their job or take it from them. 57% are expecting AI to change their job in some facet.
67% of those questioned believe they generally understand what AI is; but 49% were unsure of which products and services are now utilizing it. Younger males seem to be the most knowledgeable, familiar, and aware of AI and how it affects the workspace.
Separately, last week the Organization for Economic Co-operation and Development (OECD), a leading global policy forum, says around 27% of jobs are at high risk of automation because of AI. This includes ‘low-to-middle skilled jobs are most at risk, including construction, farming, fishing, forestry and, to a lesser extent, production and transportation,’ OECD says.
The recent acceleration of generative AI-related developments and tools marks a technological watershed with material implications in many workplaces.
There is a real need to consider longer term policy frameworks on the use of AI in the workplace and to continue to foster international cooperation to maximize the benefits while appropriately managing the downside risks.
OECD Secretary-General Mathias Cormann said in a statement.

AI is mostly going after “white collar” work, but as OECD points out, manual labor is in AI’s crosshairs also. AI is affecting everything and that is by design.
The WEF’s Yuval Noah Harari has openly said because of all these advances in technology it will totally make most people useless and redundant, and therefore will be “disposed” of.
[11] And that ye study to be quiet, and to do your own business, and to work with your own hands, as we commanded you; [12] That ye may walk honestly toward them that are without, and that ye may have lack of nothing. 1 Thessalonians 4:11-12
Nevertheless, hand skills will not fail you, especially when the Western nations start to collapse; and knowing all kinds of hand skills will be a great asset to you and others moving forward.
[7] Who goeth a warfare any time at his own charges? who planteth a vineyard, and eateth not of the fruit thereof? or who feedeth a flock, and eateth not of the milk of the flock? [8] Say I these things as a man? or saith not the law the same also? [9] For it is written in the law of Moses, Thou shalt not muzzle the mouth of the ox that treadeth out the corn. Doth God take care for oxen? [10] Or saith he it altogether for our sakes? For our sakes, no doubt, this is written: that he that ploweth should plow in hope; and that he that thresheth in hope should be partaker of his hope. (1 Corinthians 9:7-10).
