“There is a recent paradigm change in the ecology and epidemiology of avian influenza which has heightened global concern as the disease spread to new geographical regions and caused unusual wild bird die-offs, and alarming rise in mammalian cases.”

The World Health Organization (WHO) has recently issued a new warning concerning the spread of avian influenza around the world and its potential to infect human hosts.

In February WHO Director-General Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus issued a fresh warning about the rise in bird flu infections, which prior to his announcement was declared to be the worst in U.S. history and other parts of the world. Tedros warned of the possibility of a new zoonotic pandemic situation if the outbreaks were not contained, and perhaps mutated to be able to infect people on a wide scale. He and the WHO recommended creating new vaccines to inoculate poultry flocks, including vaccines for people also.

Since then scientists and the media have continued to warn about bird flu infections, and how it is now infecting a myriad of wildlife and mammals, including a few random cases in people; and continuously warning that bird flu has the grand potential to become the next ‘big’ pandemic, The WinePress has repeatedly noted.

On July 12th the WHO warned that although bird flu has largely been “affecting animals, these outbreaks pose ongoing risks to humans,” the health body wrote.

‘The Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations (FAO), the World Health Organization (WHO), and the World Organisation for Animal Health (WOAH) are urging countries to work together across sectors to save as many animals as possible and to protect people,’ the WHO added in their presser.

Furthermore, the WHO noted: ‘In 2022, 67 countries in five continents reported H5N1 high pathogenicity avian influenza outbreaks in poultry and wild birds to WOAH, with more than 131 million domestic poultry lost due to death or culling in affected farms and villages. In 2023, another 14 countries reported outbreaks, mainly in the Americas, as the disease continues to spread. Several mass death events have been reported in wild birds, caused by influenza A(H5N1) clade 2.3.4.4b viruses.’

There is a recent paradigm change in the ecology and epidemiology of avian influenza which has heightened global concern as the disease spread to new geographical regions and caused unusual wild bird die-offs, and alarming rise in mammalian cases.

Dr. Gregorio Torres, Head of the Science Department at WOAH, said in a statement

The number of animals that are purportedly becoming infected with this particular strain of H5N1 continued to widen, infecting different breeds of cats and dogs, foxes, mink, pigs, raccoons, tigers, lions, bears, several breeds of dolphin and porpoise, and more.

Dr. Sylvie Briand, Director of Epidemic and Pandemic Preparedness and Prevention at the WHO, additionally stated:

With the information available so far, the virus does not appear to be able to transmit from one person to another easily, but vigilance is needed to identify any evolution in the virus that can change that.

WHO is working closely with FAO and WOAH, and laboratory networks to monitor the evolution of these viruses, looking for signals of any change that could be more dangerous to humans. We encourage all countries to increase their ability to monitor these viruses and to detect any human cases. This is especially important as the virus is now affecting countries with limited prior experience in avian flu surveillance.

Keith Sumption, Chief Veterinary Officer at the FAO, also warned:

The epidemiology of H5N1 continues to rapidly evolve. FAO brings attention to the need for vigilance and timely sharing of genetic sequences to monitor the molecular epidemiology for risk assessment and better disease control.

The WHO and other health groups are urging all nations to have their poultry farmers vaccinate their flocks, while increase their surveillance to manage any outbreaks. They also encourage to have the farmers and scientists report their findings in both animal and human cases to the WHO.

Just two days after their warning, the WHO published the results and findings of a simulated bird flu pandemic in Mongolia.

The WHO wrote in a blog post:

Post-COVID-19 lessons learned was a key theme of the initial meeting, in particular, how to improve a future response, and what the country’s ‘pandemic preparedness wish-list’ was for priority areas and functions needing to be strengthened. This was followed by a table-top simulation exercise to test the country’s multi-sectoral coordination, risk communications and community engagement, and the triggers for operational decision making.

The exercise simulated an avian influenza outbreak. It highlighted the need to take a mode-of-transmission approach to pandemic planning to be efficient and leverage existing capacities across health and other sector programmes. This is in line with the Preparedness and Resilience for Emerging Threats (PRET) Module 1: Planning for pathogen pandemics. The exercise reinforced the need for clear roles and responsibilities across different stages of a pandemic, and familiarity with the pandemic plan was critical for an effective response. Furthermore, training on health journalism was identified as an essential step in order to strengthen management of mis- and disinformation.

Multiple debriefing sessions were held including a ‘hotwash’ to identify immediate recommendations from the exercise, a more comprehensive debrief highlighting next steps, responsible agencies and risks to implementation, and a strategic debrief with the Ministry of Health to ensure continued advocacy and support for pandemic preparedness.

The WinePress has noted that the World Organization for Animal Health have been simulating bird flu pandemics for a long time.

Former CDC Director Robert Redfield has warned explicitly at least twice that a bird flu will be the next “great pandemic,” warning that it will be highly lethal.

AUTHOR COMMENTARY

Bird flu here, bird flu there, bird flu everywhere! Time will tell, but if you have been following my reports, it seems to be bird flu has been selected as the next shamdemic to infect and kill people with. Of course, that’ll be what the media prints, not that it actually is. If anything, I think it’ll be all the Covid vaccine recipients who have yet to kick the can who start to “mysteriously” get struck with bird flu; or whatever nonsense the WHO and media drum up.

Whatever they call it, it’ll be used to justify culling livestock and wildlife in a ploy to get the masses to stop eating meat.

[7] Who goeth a warfare any time at his own charges? who planteth a vineyard, and eateth not of the fruit thereof? or who feedeth a flock, and eateth not of the milk of the flock? [8] Say I these things as a man? or saith not the law the same also? [9] For it is written in the law of Moses, Thou shalt not muzzle the mouth of the ox that treadeth out the corn. Doth God take care for oxen? [10] Or saith he it altogether for our sakes? For our sakes, no doubt, this is written: that he that ploweth should plow in hope; and that he that thresheth in hope should be partaker of his hope. (1 Corinthians 9:7-10).
