“I can’t wait for more people to get their first bite – it’s a magical moment that inspires an exciting world of new possibilities.”

Since the United States Department of Agriculture (USDA) formally approved cell-cultured chicken products created by two companies funded by Bill Gates, a restaurant in San Francisco, California, has become the first restaurant to begin serving the faux meats.

City-based outlet SFist reported that famous high-end wine bar Bar Crenn will begin serving the lab-grown chicken at least once a month at first, and plans to eventually phase more faux chicken dishes in overtime. Bar Crenn stopped offering real meat-based dishes years ago but has welcomed the fake stuff.

Meat is insanely complicated — both within the food system and the environment as a whole — and, honestly, it felt easier to just remove it from the menus all together.

The restaurant said in 2019

UPSIDE Foods, one of the brands that received regulatory clearance in June, responded to the news in a press release.

The landmark sale of UPSIDE’s cultivated chicken at Bar Crenn officially marks cultivated meat’s debut into the U.S. market. It represents a giant leap towards a world where people no longer have to choose between the foods they love and a thriving planet.

I can’t wait for more people to get their first bite – it’s a magical moment that inspires an exciting world of new possibilities.

Dr. Uma Valeti, CEO and Founder of UPSIDE Foods, said

Chef Dominique Crenn also issued a statement on the restaurant’s decision to begin serving the artificial meat:

It’s truly an honor to serve UPSIDE’s cultivated chicken at Bar Crenn and introduce cultivated meat to the US. It’s the first time meat has made it back on my menu since 2018, because UPSIDE Chicken is the first meat that I feel good about serving.

From its exquisite flavor and texture to its aroma and the way it cooks, UPSIDE Chicken is simply delicious and it represents a significant step towards a more sustainable and compassionate food system.

The restaurant first debuted the new cuisine on July 4th, Independence Day.

The cultivated chicken was infused into “a recado negro (Yucatan spice mixture) – infused tempura batter, then served alongside burnt chili aioli and edible flowers and greens from Crenn’s Bleu Belle Farm. It’s plated in a handmade black vessel decorated with Crenn’s logo and Mexican-inspired designs,” the restaurant described.

[1] Now the Spirit speaketh expressly, that in the latter times some shall depart from the faith, giving heed to seducing spirits, and doctrines of devils; [2] Speaking lies in hypocrisy; having their conscience seared with a hot iron; [3] Forbidding to marry, and commanding to abstain from meats, which God hath created to be received with thanksgiving of them which believe and know the truth. The hypocrisy of this stuff never ceases to amaze me. It’s so incredibly stupid. Oh, it’ll be a “magical moment” alright, after I ralph all over the place after one bite.

Similarly to the plant-based meats, these cell-cultured meats are going to be a commercial flop and die-off before they even make it the store shelves; but that won’t mean these evil investors will not stop bankrolling the concept.

[7] Who goeth a warfare any time at his own charges? who planteth a vineyard, and eateth not of the fruit thereof? or who feedeth a flock, and eateth not of the milk of the flock? Doth God take care for oxen? [10] Or saith he it altogether for our sakes? For our sakes, no doubt, this is written: that he that ploweth should plow in hope; and that he that thresheth in hope should be partaker of his hope. (1 Corinthians 9:7-10).

  • I’ve been an ethical vegetarian for over 35 years, and would never touch this stuff. And, yes, I do eat a fair amount of plant-based faux meat. The terror over plant-based meat is propaganda from people who have no problem eating Fritos, Oreos, and flesh ripped from cancer-ridden animals loaded with fake hormones, pesticides and antibiotic drugs. Ever watch real, live chickens screaming while frustrated, sadistic slaughter workers break their weak, calaium-deficient little leg bones for a bit of “satisfaction” just before the birds are dunked head first into a tank of electrified water, then slid, sometimes still conscious, in front of a whirling buzz saw that cuts their neck in half so they bleed to death (usually) before being dunked into the scalding tank? No? Why not? It’s a lovely death for the innocents, don’t you think? Or are you too much of a hypocrite to witness the miserable, hellish horror you subject the living, feeling beings that you claim your god created and claimed as “good”, to, just so you can taste their bodies because you’re too lazy and selfish to move to a clean diet?

What sort of suck, sadistic dirty do you worship? No wonder there’s so much suffering and violence in the world with most people clinging to their myths about how some beings in the sky command them to be led around by their appetites and hurt others for lust. I despise Josef Mengele Gates and his frankenfoods, and I’m also tired of lousy cooks who have absolutely no understanding of either the foods they criticize or the foods they eat, justifying mass cruelty by distancing themselves from their own brutality by pretending it doesn’t exist. It does, and the day you become credible on this issue is the day you voluntarily trade places with your victims. Until then, you’re just a selfish coward hiding behind religion to justify your thoughtlessness and brutality.

    • We are not hiding behind any religion, we believe in the ONLY TRUE LIVING GOD who created this world and in His word the KJV 1611 Holy Bible, He tells us that we CAN eat meat from animals( beasts), which is why He created them, also He created plants for you to eat as well. Oh, and by the way, you are killing plants so you can eat them. Only God and His Words are my final authority. You can be saved from eternal Hell fire, I can guide you to that life of eternal life in Heaven instead of Hell, it’s your freewill to chose. I tell you this as a response and it is not of anger but of Truth, you decide on it. I have no problem with you eating only vegan. Hope you find the Truth before you die, because then it’s to late. If you would like to hear the Gospel of our Lord Jesus Christ and what He did for you, I will tell you, just ask.

    • Although I agree that mass production has tried to remove the punch in the gut that humans feels when they take life to have food, it doesn’t erase the fact the humans wouldn’t be here had they not eaten animals. They would have starved off. God gave humans dominion over animals. We are to treat them well no matter their intended use, whether companion or guardian, or being raised for milk or butcher.

I was vegan for 4 years. Coincidentally, I was also casting spells, wearing crystals, and living in lots of unbridled self-destructive sin….while trying to ‘save animals from big ag abuse’. Oh the ironies. Feel soooo much better now with meat egggs and dairy back in my body. No more brain fog, lack of energy.

God didn’t intend big ag, He intended homesteading, communities. The fall of man brought on the curse of having to deal with what we deal with making our own food: weeds brambles mild bugs drought hail parasites predators etc.

I pray u learn u r not righteous as u think u are. You are a sinner in need of being saved. Even with your self righteous diet, your best is filthy rags in your creator’s site. You, like the animals you are ranting about, were made by God. He made only humans, not animals, in his image. God bless you!

    • “What sort of suck, sadistic dirty do you worship?” -I should ask you the same question. I vehemently oppose Big-Ag and all the modern conventional forms of animal husbandry. Do you realize how many animals and insects YOUR diet lifestyle kills on a routine basis? Do you realize plants can feel pain too (scientifically proven)? Do you realize how toxic your vegan foods are, such as the seed oils in your fake plant-based meats alone, as just one example, which is quite possibly one of the worst things you can eat – from an industry that is a commercial failure because they are extortionate and do not taste good at all, neither are they healthy. Speaking of which, if meat-eating is so bad, then why are you pretending to eat meat then with your plant-based knockoff? Sounds like your crave the real thing. There is nothing “ethical” about your lifestyle.
