“We believe our purpose-built biomanufacturing facility will fill the gap and help usher in a new era of advanced bioproducts that will make our lives better, including foods, materials and yet-to-be-discovered breakthroughs.”

The following report is by Inside INdiana Business:

New York-based Liberation Labs broke ground Thursday morning on its first commercial-scale biomanufacturing facility in Richmond. When complete, the company said the $115 million facility will bring 45 jobs to Wayne County.

Plans for the facility were first announced in January. The plant will produce alternative proteins, which are used in food products such as almond milk and plant-based meat, as well as agricultural products such as biopesticides.

The plant is being built on a 36-acre lot in Richmond’s Midwest Industrial Park and will have a fermentation capacity of 600,000 liters, the company said.

Today is a major milestone not just for Liberation Labs but for the future of bio-products. Despite strong consumer interest in bio-based ingredients, the industry has yet to fully deliver on their promise.

We believe our purpose-built biomanufacturing facility will fill the gap and help usher in a new era of advanced bioproducts that will make our lives better, including foods, materials and yet-to-be-discovered breakthroughs.

CEO Mark Warner said in written remarks.

In a January interview with Inside INdiana Business, Warner said Richmond was chosen from nearly a dozen sites nationwide for three key reasons.

It’s labor, it’s electric power, and it’s our main feedstock, which is corn dextrose. So being in the upper part of the Corn Belt, there’s three corn wet mills fairly close.

Power’s readily available; a good chunk of it is renewable solar power, which was definitely an incentive. And what really interested in us was the location.

Warner said.

He said the city’s proximity to three major metropolitan areas was also a major factor in choosing Richmond for the plant.

Liberation Labs expects to begin commercial production at the facility by the end of 2024.

AUTHOR COMMENTARY

What a sad investment. Americans have made it clear that plant-based meat is stupid and ridiculous, as these majors continue to hemorrhage cash, as these products were not only more expensive from the start in some cases, but inflation hurt these brands; plus the fact that they taste horrible and awful for your health.

The wise shall inherit glory: but shame shall be the promotion of fools.

Proverbs 3:35

[7] Who goeth a warfare any time at his own charges? who planteth a vineyard, and eateth not of the fruit thereof? or who feedeth a flock, and eateth not of the milk of the flock? [8] Say I these things as a man? or saith not the law the same also? [9] For it is written in the law of Moses, Thou shalt not muzzle the mouth of the ox that treadeth out the corn. Doth God take care for oxen? [10] Or saith he it altogether for our sakes? For our sakes, no doubt, this is written: that he that ploweth should plow in hope; and that he that thresheth in hope should be partaker of his hope. (1 Corinthians 9:7-10).

  • wasting millions of dollars on stupidity like plant based meat show just how dumb these people are. Most million dollar companies are set up as a guise for money laundering.

Majority of all nations dont support this kind of unnatural nonsense and see right through the scam.
