“This store utilises the very latest in retail technology,” said the company’s CEO.

In Greenwich, London, England, an Aldi grocery store requires users to download an app and scan a QR code at a digital entry gate, otherwise they cannot get in. Once a patron then gains access to the store then they scan all the items they want on their phone, and then simply leave when they are done, as the final bill is deducted from their bank account.

The WinePress reported on this location in January 2020 when it was first unveiled. More recently an individual filmed the entry of this location in Greenwich, which has since gone viral as many are frightened of the “digital prison” that is being formed in front of the people’s eyes.

Meanwhile, Aldi in the United States continues to install more, the company revealed in a tweet to a customer wanting more do-it-yourself checkouts. “ALDI is rolling out the offering to new stores every week,” the company said.

The popular grocery store chain Aldi has unveiled its first location without a single checkout, where customers pay via their phones and walk out without being checked by staff.

The grocery store setup in Greenwich, Southeast London, heavily surveils patrons with high-tech cameras while they shop, and then customers are charged when they leave.

Reported by Sky Newsstarting today, shoppers will need to download the Aldi Shop&Go app in order to enter the store. Customers will then pick up their items, and then leave when finished.

‘Customers must confirm their identity via the app, while those opting out will be age-verified in store,’ Sky News says.

The chain said that shoppers will also be able to purchase booze using facial-recognition technology to verify if the patron is 25 or above.

Today is the culmination of months of work, not least from the team here in Greenwich, and I’m looking forward to seeing how customers react to our trial.

We have been working towards this day for several months now so it will be great to see how our customers react to the new technology.

You can read up on more of these cashless society advancements and technologies here, along with the “frictionless” stores and tech, too, which is what this Aldi location in London is considered to be.

Clearly this stuff has mark of the beast written all over it. We are not quite there yet, but are rapidly approaching it.

[16] And he causeth all, both small and great, rich and poor, free and bond, to receive a mark in their right hand, or in their foreheads: [17] And that no man might buy or sell, save he that had the mark, or the name of the beast, or the number of his name. [18] Here is wisdom. Let him that hath understanding count the number of the beast: for it is the number of a man; and his number is Six hundred threescore and six.

Revelation 13:16-18

[7] Who goeth a warfare any time at his own charges? who planteth a vineyard, and eateth not of the fruit thereof? or who feedeth a flock, and eateth not of the milk of the flock? [8] Say I these things as a man? or saith not the law the same also? [9] For it is written in the law of Moses, Thou shalt not muzzle the mouth of the ox that treadeth out the corn. Doth God take care for oxen? [10] Or saith he it altogether for our sakes? For our sakes, no doubt, this is written: that he that ploweth should plow in hope; and that he that thresheth in hope should be partaker of his hope. (1 Corinthians 9:7-10).
