“I gotta say, you’re gonna love it. It’s just going to be woo! It’s so good, it’s so good, it’s so exciting!”

Victoria, Australia, is set to become the third province in the country to rollout digital driver’s licenses stored on citizen’s smartphones. Victorians can expect to obtain a new digital ID by next year, though trialing with begin in July in Ballarat for 6 months.

The ID will be displayed in the Service Victoria app or the soon-to-be-launched my VicRoads app.

The new ID will provide three options: displays all the basic credentials and a unique barcode that can be scanned by law enforcement; a second option that will conceal the important data and only reveal name and birthday; or a third selection that only displays the user’s age.

Each option also displays a new QR code every 90 seconds so data cannot be as easily nabbed.

Government Services Minister Danny Pearson was absolutely giddy at the press release unveiling the news.

This is such just a glorious day, and, I can’t wait, I just can’t wait.

I gotta say, you’re gonna love it. It’s just going to be woo! It’s so good, it’s so good, it’s so exciting!

Pearson exclaimed, according to Australian news services

Another driver spoke at the press conference also beaming about how she feels this will make life easier, and is more convenient. “It’s going to make life a whole lot easier,” she said, adding she and her friends are all “thrilled.”

However, Australia’s 9 News says that this digital ID is not meant to replace the physical ones, neither will there be any discounts provided for getting a virtual driver’s license.

In an interview with the news station, Pearson’s claims that this digital ID is much safer than the tangible ones, “that we know have had its issues in the past,” the minister claims.

But Pearson contradicted 9 News’ original claim that the digital license will not replace the physical one. Pearson essentially says that they will.

We want Victorians to have the flexibility to leave their wallet or purse at home, have everything on their phone, […].

New South Wales and South Australia have already had digital driver’s license on offer since 2019.

However, in March NSW officials announced a new all-in-one digital app was on the way that will totally replace physical documents, allow banking, and requires facial recognition to access.

The media is trying to minimize the fact that this WILL replace the physical IDs. Choice today, mandate tomorrow.

And while the world is still a bit of ways off, this is another important brick that needs to be laid for the path towards the mark of the beast.

[16] And he causeth all, both small and great, rich and poor, free and bond, to receive a mark in their right hand, or in their foreheads: [17] And that no man might buy or sell, save he that had the mark, or the name of the beast, or the number of his name. [18] Here is wisdom. Let him that hath understanding count the number of the beast: for it is the number of a man; and his number is Six hundred threescore and six.

Revelation 13:16-18

[7] Who goeth a warfare any time at his own charges? who planteth a vineyard, and eateth not of the fruit thereof? or who feedeth a flock, and eateth not of the milk of the flock? [8] Say I these things as a man? or saith not the law the same also? [9] For it is written in the law of Moses, Thou shalt not muzzle the mouth of the ox that treadeth out the corn. Doth God take care for oxen? [10] Or saith he it altogether for our sakes? For our sakes, no doubt, this is written: that he that ploweth should plow in hope; and that he that thresheth in hope should be partaker of his hope. (1 Corinthians 9:7-10).
