Several top medical programs in the state of North Carolina offer and perform transgender surgeries for children as you as two-years-old, according to a new report courtesy of Sloan Rachmuth, Founder of Education First Alliance.
Rachmuth recently highlighted how ECU Health offers transgender surgery to children as young as 4, UNC Health providing transitionary treatment as young as 3, and Duke Health performing trans alterations upon 2-year-olds.
Duke Medicine opened it’s gender clinic in 2015 and provides the controversial surgery for children allegedly have gender dysphoria. In an interview with the Charlotte Observer in 2016, Dr. Deanna Adkins, a transgender activist who runs the clinic, said this about her toddler trans patients:
They are not old enough to consciously just choose to do that. … It is not a choice in any of my patients. It’s really an unpleasant thing to have going on in your body to feel that distress about yourself. I can’t imagine anyone who would choose to do that.
In a court testimony in 2020 Adkins said that “from a medical perspective, the appropriate determinant of sex is gender identity;” and contends that gender identity is not only the preferred basis for determining sex, but “the only medically supported determinant of sex.”
It is counter to medical science to use chromosomes, hormones, internal reproductive organs, external genitalia, or secondary sex characteristics to override gender identity for purposes of classifying someone as male or female.
Adkins affirmed
Furthermore, while giving her testimony, Adkins explained how she provides treatment to these young children:
Before puberty, treatment does not include any drug or surgical intervention. For this group of patients, treatment is limited to “social transition,” which means allowing a transgender child to live and be socially recognized in accordance with their gender identity.
This can include allowing children to wear clothing, to cut or grow their hair, to use names and pronouns, and to access restrooms and other sex-separated facilities and activities in line with their gender identity instead of the sex assigned to them at birth.
Social transition is a critical part of treatment of patients with gender dysphoria of all ages and it is the only treatment for pre-pubertal children.
Adkins added
Because Adkins started this clinic she was ‘recognized as one of Durham Magazine’s 2022 Women’s of Achievement, as well as an endocrinologist affiliated with WakeMed Raleigh Campus,’ Durham Magazine wrote.
Not that far from Duke is the University of North Carolina (UNC) Health, where 3-year-olds and up can be screened for gender dysphoria, per a waver they provide. The health system also provides free cross-sex hormones to these toddlers every third Wednesday, according to their website.
Eastern Carolina University (ECU) Health is the most latest addition to this trinity trans-toddler care, offering a “Pride Clinic” for those 4 and older.
In an interview with the East Carolinian, head of the clinic Dr. Colby Dendy said,
The literature tells us that kids can start around age four having their gender identity, so we do not want to exclude anybody within the pediatrics realm. A big part of our goal is to provide affirming primary care to everybody in LGBTQ+ spectrum.
Rachmuth noted: ‘A majority of ECU Health family medicine doctors indicate they are trained and ready to accept an influx of patients on the center’s website. Dendy and her colleagues at ECU published a recent paper calling for doctors and clinics to push puberty blockers and hormones through telemedicine and school awareness programs. A month after the doctors at the ECU Pride Clinic published the paper, the school announced it received $3.2 M for a telepsychiatry program for school children.’

More recently Rachmuth and Dr. Nancy Anderson told Fox News in an interview further discussed how these treatments are continuing unabated.
There are activists that are now physicians and medical providers who have radical progressive ideologies who have no problem with socially transitioning two, three, four-year-olds in gender-affirming care.
And just to clarify, these institutions are very specific about the mode of treatment as gender-affirming care, which means that this is a pathway, a highway that you can’t get off of.
As soon as the child thinks or pretends they might be a different sex, then that must be affirmed, and no questions asked.
Dr. Anderson said
We’ve been told for years by the left that this isn’t going on, and if it is, it’s maybe 16-year-old, 17-year-olds here and there, but it is going on. Their aim is to turn these places into pill mills for children… as young as two, starting with the social and then moving with the hormones and so forth.
