Moderna, GSK, And Other Vaccine Developers Are Working To Create A New Bird Flu Vaccine For People “Just In Case”

Vaccine and pharmaceutical juggernauts are working to create a new avian flu vaccine for humans in the event the current spread of bird flu becomes a threat to humans.

The fears of an H5N1 avian flu outbreak have been getting on-and-off attention since 2022, with the CDC reporting that this outbreak is the worst ever on record in the United States, with even the WHO calling attention to this outbreak and warned that this spread could get worse.

But the new concern reported by scientists and researchers is the purported spread to many other mammals in the wild, even infecting a bottle nosed dolphin in one instance.

Researchers and labs around the world are working to create new vaccines to control the spread for birds at farms and in the wild, including the White House, along with vaccines for people to prevent infection.

Former CDC Director Robert Redfield under President Trump dogmatically declared that the “next pandemic” would indeed be a bird flu, with a lethality of anywhere from 10-50%, calling for mRNA vaccines to be made to prevent this attack.

Yeah I think we have to recognize – I’ve always said that I think the Covid pandemic was a wakeup call. I don’t believe it’s the great pandemic.

I believe the great pandemic is still in the future, and that’s going to be a bird flu pandemic for man. It’s gonna have significant mortality in the 10-50% range. It’s gonna be trouble.

And we should get great prepared for it. I do believe the pandemic risk is a greater risk of the national security of the United States more than [North] Korea, China, Russia, Iran; and we ought to start investing proportional to that national security risk so that we’re prepared.

Unfortunately we’re not more prepared today then when the [Covid-19] pandemic, when I was [the] CDC Director. And we need to make proportional investment so that we are prepared, not the least of which is enhancing our manufacturing capability.

So now that we have new technology like the mRNA technology: it’s great that I can make a vaccine in 2, 4, 6, 8 weeks. But it doesn’t help me if I can’t manufacture 330 million doses.

So, this is a serious issue. I don’t think our politicians are focused on the magnitude of this issue. This needs to be approached with a budgetary perspective measured in multiple aircraft carriers, not in the 5, 8,10 million dollar budget we spend on public health on this nation.

Redfield said in an interview a year ago

Now pharmaceutical giants like GSK plc, formerly known as GlaxoSmithKline, Moderna, and CSL Seqirus – told Reuters in a statement that they are working on avian flu vaccines and are ready to test them on human subjects, ‘as a precautionary measure against a future pandemic,’ Reuters reported.

Sanofi also said that they “stand ready” to begin production if need be, already having H5N1 vaccines stock just in case.

Reuters explained more specifically what some of these manufacturers are doing to prepare these vaccines:

In a pandemic, vaccine manufacturers would shift production of seasonal flu vaccines and instead make shots tailored to the new outbreak when needed. They already have the capacity to make hundreds of millions of doses.

Many of the potential pandemic shots are pre-approved by regulators, based on data from human trials showing the vaccines are safe and prompt an immune response, a process already used with seasonal flu vaccines. This means they might not require further human trials, even if they have to be tweaked to better match whichever strain does jump to humans. Data on how well the vaccines actually protect against infection would be gathered in real-time.

In all, the WHO said there are close to 20 licensed vaccines against the broader H5 strain of flu. Existing antiviral treatments for people already infected will also help mitigate the impact.

At the same time, moving to large-scale production of a more targeted shot could take months, the manufacturers said. Some potential shots use a traditional method, growing the virus used in the vaccines in chicken eggs over four to six months.

Creating the first dose is the easiest. The hardest is manufacturing in large quantities.

Raja Rajaram, head of global medical strategy at CSL Seqirus, said

Experts have long advocated for new approaches in developing vaccines, both for seasonal and pandemic flu. COVID proved the potential of mRNA technology to adapt more quickly to changing viruses because the vaccines use genetic information from the pathogen, rather than having to grow the virus itself.

Moderna To Build MRNA Factories In Canada And Australia

Moderna’s mRNA vaccine research actually began with pandemic flu, and was modified for COVID, said Raffael Nachbagauer, executive director of infectious diseases at Moderna.

The company plans to launch a small human trial of an mRNA pandemic flu vaccine tailored to the new avian influenza subtype in the first half of 2023, he said, adding Moderna could respond “very quickly” in an outbreak scenario. The results will be closely watched, as the data on Moderna’s seasonal flu candidate was mixed.

Nachbagauer said the company was mindful of the equity issue needing to be addressed but has no contracts yet.

It would be premature to sign anything or commit to anything that we can’t actually deliver on as of today.

He said.

While everyone is asleep and thinking the nightmare of Covid is long behind them, they’d be mistaken: the Convid was just a dry run for the real thing coming up. So far it appears bird flu is the choice, but time will tell. What we DO know is that another far more intrusive “pandemic” is coming, and this one will actually take a serious number of lives, despite the media’s propaganda that claims the made-up Covid-19 virus was deadly.

I have said before that this one will be zoonotic, and whether they call it bird flu is a tad irrelevant: all that matters to these evil people are that the food supply gets wrecked because of the injections they plan to force on livestock and wildlife, on top of the fact that people start dying en masse (most likely the Covid vaccine recipients).
