The study is called “The effect of meat-shaming on meat eaters’ emotions and intentions to adapt behavior,” conducted by the Dutch Delft University of Technology, published in the journal Science Direct.
According to the study’s abstract,
Eating meat can have detrimental effects on the environment, animal welfare, and a person’s health. However, consumers are often reluctant to reduce their meat consumption and public information-based awareness campaigns show little effect. As an alternative, some vegan activists and pressure groups employ emotion-based campaigns using meat-shaming techniques in the hope to change people’s meat consumption behavior.
By publicly and often drastically criticizing consumers, they try to make them experience negative emotions and ultimately change their behavior. In three experimental studies, we explore whether a confrontational approach of putting meat-shaming messages on products is likely to affect consumer behavior. Specifically, we find that meat-shaming messages trigger shame but also other negative emotions that translate into reduced purchase intentions.
The content of the message largely determines the different emotions that are evoked. The messages can activate both restore and protect motivations, either stimulating or hindering behavioral change. Interestingly, it does not seem to matter whether the meat-shaming message stems from a governmental organization, activist group, or private person and whether it is framed with a personal or informational appeal. If the source looks credible, the message influences consumer experience and behavioral intentions.
The research was comprised of three smaller studies wrapped-up into one, examining “meat-shaming” the marketing, the emotions, the influence, and its effectiveness.
In conclusion the study authors found adding a simple sticker to the packaging elicits a negative reaction from the consumer, causing them to reduce their consumption of meat.
We found that adding a sticker with a shaming message increased emotional responses. In Study 3 we largely replicated the results from Study 1 with a meat-shaming message that emphasized a different detrimental effect (environmental impact versus animal welfare). All emotions were rated higher for a package with a sticker than one without a sticker (Studies 1 and 3). Adding the sticker leads to lower intentions to purchase meat…
The stickers showed chickens behind the bars of a cage and a message reading: “Eating meat makes animals suffer.”
Other countries have considered implementing these types of stickers before. Canada attempted to do this last year but faced severe backlash and ultimately scrapped the plans for now.
Other countries are looking to instigate other health labels and new branding. Europe already has one called the “Nutriscore” that gives foods an arbitrary letter grade. But some have pointed out that the score is a bit biased, seeing as sugary products rank higher than meat ones.
The United States is also looking to reform their health standards and labeling once again as obesity and overall poor health have rocketed higher annually, and was exacerbated by the lockdowns beginning in 2020.
Biden’s administration put together a new panel last year and met in late-September in a bid to broadly revamp the health standards, guidelines, and recommendations for the country. In a bipartisan move Biden worked with Representatives Jim McGovern (D) of Massachuessetts, and since-deceased Jackie Walorski (R) of Indiana, along with Senators Corey Booker (D) of Rhode Island, and Mike Braun (R) of Indiana, to get that initial conference and panel established.
The head of the conference was led by Dariush Mozaffarian, the Dean of the Tufts Friedman School of Nutrition Science and Policy at Tufts University. As detailed by The WinePress, Mozaffarian and Tufts University designed what they call the “Food Compass,” which is meant to vastly improve upon previous food and diet models, and provide foods and meals with a ranking on a scale of 0-100 on what people should be eating more of.
But the chart is very much biased and disjointed, according to objective and critical scientists, who tabulated and compiled Mozaffarian and crew’s rankings – showing how these doctors claim that things like Almond M&M’s, Frosted Mini Wheats, potato chips, ice cream with cone, and vegan egg substitutes, are more healthier than ground beef, cheddar cheese, and an egg fried in butter, which are encouraged to be eaten less of.
But out of that the Food and Drug Administration (FDA) have proposed new standards to the marketing of certain food items. On September 28th in lieu with the conference the FDA wrote:
Today, the U.S. Food and Drug Administration proposed updated criteria for when foods can be labeled with the nutrient content claim “healthy” on their packaging. This proposed rule would align the definition of the “healthy” claim with current nutrition science, the updated Nutrition Facts label and the current Dietary Guidelines for Americans.
More than 80% of people in the U.S. aren’t eating enough vegetables, fruit and dairy. And most people consume too much added sugars, saturated fat and sodium. The proposed rule is part of the agency’s ongoing commitment to helping consumers improve nutrition and dietary patterns to help reduce the burden of chronic disease and advance health equity.
And while the FDA did not say directly condemn meat, saturated fats are highly contained in many different meats, along with other things like coconut oil and avocados.
Furthermore, last year The WinePress reported that other Western nations have considered implementing a carbon footprint food label to also toady shoppers into changing their eating habits.
AUTHOR COMMENTARY
[1] Now the Spirit speaketh expressly, that in the latter times some shall depart from the faith, giving heed to seducing spirits, and doctrines of devils; [2] Speaking lies in hypocrisy; having their conscience seared with a hot iron; [3] Forbidding to marry, and commanding to abstain from meats, which God hath created to be received with thanksgiving of them which believe and know the truth. [4] For every creature of God is good, and nothing to be refused, if it be received with thanksgiving: [5] For it is sanctified by the word of God and prayer. 1 Timothy 4:1-5
These devils continue to just lie and lie. These same Cretans and psychopaths that ruined people’s health in America are now here to offer up their “solution” once again. Surely they won’t get it wrong and make it worse than last time, right?
As I have noted before, these attempts to get the masses off of eating meats simply will not prove successful overall. In order to facilitate a massive change like this, a huge trigger event will need to be created to facilitate such a sweeping change. In my view, a new zoonotic pandemic will be the most likely method of choice.
[7] Who goeth a warfare any time at his own charges? who planteth a vineyard, and eateth not of the fruit thereof? or who feedeth a flock, and eateth not of the milk of the flock? [8] Say I these things as a man? or saith not the law the same also? [9] For it is written in the law of Moses, Thou shalt not muzzle the mouth of the ox that treadeth out the corn. Doth God take care for oxen? [10] Or saith he it altogether for our sakes? For our sakes, no doubt, this is written: that he that ploweth should plow in hope; and that he that thresheth in hope should be partaker of his hope. (1 Corinthians 9:7-10).

The country of Norway harbored a person, a Nobel Peace Prize Winner for his work in prion research, a person who even the LA Times described as an “unrepentant pedophile” in his 2008 obit. He worked for the NIH at the same time Fauci was climbing up the ladder at same place, and could have possibly collaborated with said pedophile on a few papers. After this pedophile’s stint in prison on a different molestation charge, he whisked himself off to Norway because he found out he would be questioned in a very famous US child kidnapping case, and things were not looking too good for him.
So Norway is a stupid country. Maybe it has always been a stupid country. I knew a Baptist deacon, of Norwegian descent, who went to Norway and acknowledged how sleazy the country was a long time back, yet had no problem with the Catholic bibles. The pedophile was questioned by a Norwegian news media type, and actually sympathized with him. Maybe the phrase should be “something has been very rotten in the state of Norway for a long time.”
I really do not think those labels will fly in the United States, at least not in the short term.
If it works as well as the warnings on booze & cigarettes….then meat sales will boom, the government will just control & tax it. 1 Tim 6 duking it out with 1 Tim 4. Historically, God’s people have often had respite while the wicked were preoccupied struggling over who got to be top dog.
Reasons why cigarette and alcohol sales boomed are because of the addictive substances in these things, coupled with the brainwashing of hollywood movies and TV.
Meat will fundamentally always sell because it’s a necessity for man to consume, biologically created by God to eat meat for our bodies to function well. The warning labels on the cigarettes are not effective because anyone who foolishly smokes that first cigarette, knows that one smoke won’t kill you. But it’s that one cigarette that puts nicotine into your body and from then on you’ll have that withdrawal pang from the drug that your body (and your brainwashed brain, having that illusion that it relieves stress, promotes concentration and relaxation) will want to relieve by smoking another, falling into the trap.
Not realizing, again because of the mental manipulation, that the withdrawal pang from nicotine is actually very mild and easily ignored, since smokers can go through 8 or more hours sleeping at night without having to wake up and smoke a cigarette. No physical pain like heroin withdrawals.
We will need t-shirts that might say; God’s people eat meat, everybody else worries about climate, guess who wins? God of course!
