This is huge. It’s a win for industry. It’s a win for patients in need of cures.
Tamara Drake, director of research and regulatory policy at the Center for a Humane Economy, a nonprofit animal welfare organization and key driver of the legislation, said
The magazine Science wrote:
‘But pro-research groups are downplaying the law, saying it signals a slow turning of the tide—not a tsunami that will remake the drug approval process overnight. Jim
Newman, communications director at Americans for Medical Progress, which advocates for animal research, argues non-animal technologies are still “in their infancy” and won’t be able to replace animal models for “many, many years.” FDA still retains tremendous discretion to require animal tests, he notes, and he doesn’t expect the agency to change tack anytime soon.’
‘In order for a drug to be approved in the United States, FDA typically requires toxicity tests on one rodent species such as a mouse or rat and one nonrodent species such as a monkey or dog. Companies use tens of thousands of animals for such tests each year. Yet more than nine in 10 drugs that enter human clinical trials fail because they are unsafe or ineffective, providing grist to those who argue that animal experiments are a waste of time, money, and lives,’ Science added.
Furthermore, NPR notes: ‘There are a slew of other methods that drugmakers employ to assess new medications and treatments, such as computer modeling and “organs on a chip,” thumb-sized microchips that can mimic how organs’ function are affected by pharmaceuticals.’
And even though Republican Senator Rand Paul from Kentucky made a big fuss in December, claiming that no one had time to read it and know what was in the omnibus package – it was Mr. Paul and Democrat Senator Cory Booker of New Jersey who both introduced the FDA Modernization Act 2.0, and was passed unanimously by the Senate in September.
The FDA Modernization Act 2.0 will accelerate innovation and get safer, more effective drugs to market more quickly by cutting red tape that is not supported by current science, and I’m proud to have led the charge.
The inclusion of this bipartisan effort is a step toward ending the needless suffering and death of animal test subjects – which I’m glad both Republicans and Democrats can agree needs to end.

A righteous man regardeth the life of his beast: but the tender mercies of the wicked are cruel.
Proverbs 12:10
Not allowing animal testing is the least of concerns (NOT that I defend the abuse), but what about wrangling in and prohibiting the use of these drugs? Hey, there’s a concept. But we all know that’ll NEVER happen…
[7] Who goeth a warfare any time at his own charges? who planteth a vineyard, and eateth not of the fruit thereof? or who feedeth a flock, and eateth not of the milk of the flock? [8] Say I these things as a man? or saith not the law the same also? [9] For it is written in the law of Moses, Thou shalt not muzzle the mouth of the ox that treadeth out the corn. Doth God take care for oxen? [10] Or saith he it altogether for our sakes? For our sakes, no doubt, this is written: that he that ploweth should plow in hope; and that he that thresheth in hope should be partaker of his hope. (1 Corinthians 9:7-10).

May the fires of Hell consume these evil scientists that experiment on animals! Their damnation is the most just thing in the world!
It is the first thing “They” did right. Animals are presicous and have the Spirit of God living inside of them. If anyone is stupid enough to take any drug Big Bro makes then they deserve the terrible out come of their decision.
Amen, Mischka!
Who can even pretend anymore that Constitutional America still exists? Gutted & ‘transformed’. Glen Beck said he guessed we were ‘all Catholics now’, but to the Darwinist pagan idolator: we’re all furries now.

A righteous man careth for the needs of his beasts, & even the tender mercies of the unrighteous are cruel. Nimrod became the mighty hunter of beast & man after the Lord put animals on the menu, & the enmity & fear of man was put into the beasts….an expansion of the curse on the Serpent for some reason, & with exceptions & mercy in judgment save in the killing of man.
–
Worshipping & serving the creature more than the Creator who is blessed forever, they lower themselves…then project the same…upon others, though generally in hierarchical, hypocritical & self-excluding, self-justifying fashion. Like Gandhi who defiled little children sleeping with them naked to prove his supposed spiritual advancement toward detachment, & allowed his ‘lesser being’ wife to die of an easily treated malady for his hypocritical superstition.
–
Puffed up in their vain imaginations & supposed ‘wisdom’, subject to their lusts & lower level unthinking urges & to the beastly devils they open themselves to without discernment, they become as beasts as written.
–
The beasts are as the angelic, & are not created in the image of God with body, soul & spirit; not having conscientious knowing or choice. We are to steward well & righteously what is given to our hand, subject to the limitations & teaching of the word of God. Neglecting that, & apart from that: it isn’t long before the effeminate and easily deceived, moved purely by emotions, the bleeding hearts, are paralyzed with fear of stepping on a bug or killing a microbe that is killing them, suffering food shortages & plagues because mice & rats are their ‘equals’, delusion to their destruction, seeing themselves as superior to God, & serving death.
–
Or, as Nimrod, the mighty hunter, take to the opposite extreme of cruelty & illegitimate, unrighteous & disobedient dominion. Both ditches keeping men from the strait gate, & still lining the narrow way for so long as men are wrapped in corruptible flesh & walking by faith. Good old dialectics, philosophy & traditions of men, doctrines of devils.
To the animal rights activists, its a big win. I think it’s a smoke screen for something else.
Great article!
