Mifepristone, a drug some doctors prescribe their patients if they are seeking an abortion, also known as Mifeprex, can now be filled at pharmacies across the U.S. after the Food and Drug Administration (FDA) gave the greenlight today. The drug can end the child birthing process up to 10 weeks. It blocks the production of the hormone progesterone, and is usually also taken with misoprostol which is designed to empty-out the uterus.
If pharmacies so choose to allow this drug be filled it could allow for greater use of the drug in states that already allow it, which in turn may cause more doctors to get certification to prescribe this drug because they would no longer need to stock it themselves, ABC News explained.
Evan Masingill, CEO of GenBioPro, which manufactures the generic version of the abortion pill, says this is “a step in the right direction” to increase access and would “minimize the burden” on the health care system.
Despite the FDA’s expert judgment, some states have restricted access to medical abortion care, so unfortunately today’s announcement will not provide equal access to all people. GenBioPro looks forward to working with prescribers and pharmacies to increase access to medical abortion care for all people.

This is a product that’s been very niche for a long time. But this is definitely a step in the direction of mainstreaming this drug.

Ah Abortion, the biggest abomination this wicked Nation has performed. Worse than the greed filled “Manifest Destiny.” Worse than sending our boys into a world war we had no business being in “ie the great war,” Worse than…well…you get the idea.
And at the end of it all, I’m not too sure whom I’m more angered by, my generation for continuing this devil of an abomination, or the generations who brought about it’s legality and allowed it to continue practically unchecked, (And still do to be honest.)
And yes, I understand there are brave souls who have fought against this abomination and I am very grateful for those who take a stand, but America has had decades to put an end to Abortion, and the lack of action on this nation’s part has utterly caused her to acquire a stink worse than any other in history, save perhaps the Vatican.
