The U.S. National Park Service made the plea last week to help protect the Sonoran desert toad, which secretes a toxin unlike any other found on the planet.
The effects of the toxin depend on your perspective. Some call it a dangerous poison that can make people sick and can even be deadly. Others call it the “God molecule,” a hallucinogenic so potent it is often compared to a religious experience.
But maybe keep your tongue off the toads, the Park Service said in a cheeky Facebook post lined with puns.

Hey there! Here is the “ribbiting” late night content no one asked for. Yet here we are. The Sonoran desert toad (Bufo alvarius), also known as the Colorado river toad, is one of the largest toads found in North America, measuring nearly 7 inches (18 cm).
What sound does it make? Its call has been described as a “weak, low-pitched toot, lasting less than a second.” Was that the toad or did something startle you?
These toads have prominent parotoid glands that secrete a potent toxin. It can make you sick if you handle the frog or get the poison in your mouth. As we say with most things you come across in a national park, whether it be a banana slug, unfamiliar mushroom, or a large toad with glowing eyes in the dead of night, please refrain from licking. Demand for the toad’s secretion has boomed in recent years, with a growing retreat industry serving those seeking the psychedelic experience. In some cases, the experience is treated as a ceremony, with participants paying hundreds or thousands of dollars. It typically lasts for 15 to 30 very intense minutes.
Licking the toads is not the way most people go about it. A substance in the toxins that the toad excretes when threatened, 5-MeO-DMT, can be dried into crystals and smoked in a pipe. It is illegal in the United States, where it is classified as a Schedule 1 controlled substance, but it is legal in Mexico.
It was not clear how often people have tried to lick the toads; the National Park Service did not immediately respond to a request for comment. But smoking the toxin — commonly called Five or Bufo — is a practice that goes back decades.
Rising interest in the experience has brought new dangers to the animal, which is also known as the Colorado River toad and is found primarily in the Sonoran desert in the southwestern United States and northwestern Mexico. They are typically targeted by predators like raccoons and run over on roads, but they are now also the target of poaching, over-harvesting and illegal trafficking.
People collect the substance by stroking under the toad’s chin, initiating a defensive response. It then releases a substance that can be scraped, dried and smoked.

Obviously the Egyptians were not getting high off of a frog, but I think you get the point…
People are so messed-up, looking for anything and everything to escape their sad, miserable lives. But as The NY Times pointed out, this is, unfortunately, not a new trend. The 90’s MTV cartoon “Beavis & Butthead” featured this in an episode, for example, when the trend took-off.

I’ve heard that the spirit of a devil is likened to that of a frog and pharmakeia (both so-called medicines and narcotics) are sorcery, so the dots are all being connected.
The ‘God molecule’…..the ‘God particle’…. yea hath God said?, ye shall not surely die, ye shall be as gods… This stuff has been a big lure for the Silicon Valley and supposedly wise ‘scientists’ for many years. Huge in the occult for those seeking licentious experience, power & control, or both. It’s a less discipline demanding, less work shortcut than transcendental meditation & such things to open oneself to devils & the antichrist ‘gospel’ of idolatrous humanism. So much subject matter for Hollywood, video game producers and so forth who get ‘the tap’ and the ‘helping hand’, the ‘leg up’. Those who say ‘yes’ to what our Lord showed us to say ‘no’ to in Matthew and Luke 4 KJB. ….Those caught in those things & coming to their senses need to repent while they still can.

These substances are gateways to removing all soulish resistance to evil, disarming modesty & sense, destroying natural affection by giving quick devilish entre into the spiritual realm for which men are not yet equipped: though the devil allows some to believe they are, toying with & using them for the defilement & destruction of many before breaking them like twigs. The shamans use the poisons of tree frogs in this manner, too.

It’s part of why the Lord allowed some of the abuses, though the Manifest Destiny and Replacement Theology, & others giving way to fleshly temptations, saved & unsaved, crowd went way beyond the mark, justifying sin & bringing trials & judgments to this nation & all involved.

That sort of self-abuse is not new, and it’s spiritual. Tatooing is a form of it, and note how they often tattoo the dates of folks’ death or tributes to the dead in what is considered the more ‘benign’ forms of it….let alone the obviously diabolical. Leviticus 19:28 Ye shall not make any cuttings in your flesh for the dead, nor print any marks upon you: I am the LORD.

Frogs figure hugely in the ancient Egyptian religion…and creeping things. And they figure there in Revelation 16:13. There was a reason and a particular devil & lie worshipped as a god by the Egyptians in the plagues brought against Egypt by God through Moses & Aaron. And the magicians of Egypt by devilish power aped the miracles of God with their enchantments, lying signs & wonders.

The two witnesses of Revelation 11 bring plagues & tie in to exposing these things in the time of Jacob’s trouble. The miracles ascribed to them make me believe they are Moses and Elijah, representing the Law and Prophets to Israel in that coming day. When their testimony is finished & their dead bodies resurrected & raptured before the eyes of all the watching world ….the terrible earthquake hits & the next thing you read in Revelation 12 is of the devil as a dragon cast entirely out of heaven…even from the gates of heaven he still has access to & where he makes his accusations, with visible spiritual warfare, the Jews fleeing etc.
