A growing number of Americans are sick and tired of the current regime of press coverage news, distrusting most of what they say, setting a new all-time low on record.
A new Gallup poll finds that only 7% of Americans say they have a “great deal” of trust in the news media, and only 38% have zero trust in newspaper reporting. This study also revealed that this is the first time ever the ratio of Americans who have no trust at all in the media is higher than the percentage who have “a great deal or a fair amount combined.”
Political divide has a great deal to play in all of this. Roughly 70% of those leaning Left and Democratic say they great value what the press preaches or at least have a fair amount of respect for it overall. 14% of Republicans and 27% of Independents side with Democrats in this regard – a trend that is still consistent with years past.
Overall, Gallup finds that just 34% of Americans in total believe that the media will report the news “fully, accurately and fairly,” which is again unchanged from last year, and is two points off from the all-time low in 2016 during the Presidential race, Trump Vs. Clinton.
The Trends Journal, commenting on these findings, gave their predictions and outlook:
TRENDPOST: The past few years have presented the news media with an opportunity to show how a combination of technology, resources, and expertise could meet the demand of reporting on a controversial presidential election, a worldwide outbreak, and a major war.
Journalists have never had more knowledge at their fingertips and more ways to get their reports to the public. But instead of being a shining moment for the industry, major corporations put profits above principles and used newsrooms to promote government propaganda.
In the U.S. media there are two consistents: sex and fear sells. So you have an attractive woman reading the most horrible stories you can find. Newsrooms also take the government’s words as gospel.
The policy in most newsrooms across the U.S. is that they must wait for a government response to stories before they’re published. Editors make sure not to ruffle feathers by cutting and pasting these statements and not question the government line. If a government agency doesn’t confirm part of a story, that section is commonly left out.
AUTHOR COMMENTARY
[10] For there are many unruly and vain talkers and deceivers, specially they of the circumcision: [11] Whose mouths must be stopped, who subvert whole houses, teaching things which they ought not, for filthy lucre’s sake. [12] One of themselves, even a prophet of their own, said, The Cretians are alway liars, evil beasts, slow bellies. [13] This witness is true. Wherefore rebuke them sharply, that they may be sound in the faith;Titus 1:10-13
Even though Titus 1 is not referring to the news media, some truths of this passage can be gleaned from and applied to here. Anyone that trusts the media, including the strong majority of alternative media and some “independents,” for a nanosecond, are quite delusional and naïve.
But this monopolized effort to suppress truth can be demonstrated by the devilish act of the United States Senate in attempt to solidify a media cartel, acting as vanguards to protect their money and power structure whilst locking out the little guy. It’s fascism: obey the corporate media that dictates what the government does.
However, it is imperative to note that America is at where it is at because they threw away the true source of truth a long time ago, and now have been reduced to drunken zombies who cannot discern much anything.
[1] Run ye to and fro through the streets of Jerusalem, and see now, and know, and seek in the broad places thereof, if ye can find a man, if there be any that executeth judgment, that seeketh the truth; and I will pardon it. [2] And though they say, The LORD liveth; surely they swear falsely. [3] O LORD, are not thine eyes upon the truth? thou hast stricken them, but they have not grieved; thou hast consumed them, but they have refused to receive correction: they have made their faces harder than a rock; they have refused to return. [4] Therefore I said, Surely these are poor; they are foolish: for they know not the way of the LORD, nor the judgment of their God. [5] I will get me unto the great men, and will speak unto them; for they have known the way of the LORD, and the judgment of their God: but these have altogether broken the yoke, and burst the bonds.Jeremiah 5:1-5
[7] Who goeth a warfare any time at his own charges? who planteth a vineyard, and eateth not of the fruit thereof? or who feedeth a flock, and eateth not of the milk of the flock? [8] Say I these things as a man? or saith not the law the same also? [9] For it is written in the law of Moses, Thou shalt not muzzle the mouth of the ox that treadeth out the corn. Doth God take care for oxen? [10] Or saith he it altogether for our sakes? For our sakes, no doubt, this is written: that he that ploweth should plow in hope; and that he that thresheth in hope should be partaker of his hope. (1 Corinthians 9:7-10).
