Enrollment in both public and private colleges was down 4.1 percent year over year in 2022, or down 16.2 million students, The National Student Clearinghouse Research Center said in a recent report.
Researchers said the trend had been headed downward before the COVID outbreak. The number of students enrolled in college is down 9.4 percent compared to just two years ago, CNBC reported.
Hafeez Lakhani, the president of Lakhani Coaching in New York City, told the outlet that he is concerned that the trend will continue “because nobody is doing anything to improve affordability, and universities are going to continue to suffer.”
The report went on to note smaller regional schools that have closed at the end of the spring semester, including Lincoln College in Illinois. David Gerlach, the school’s former president, noted that the school was around for more than 157 years and its closure is an immense loss for the school’s alumni community.
The predominantly black school said it could not overcome the financial challenges sparked by COVID-19. There was a drop in enrollment and a ransomware attack. The school reportedly needed $50 million to stay open, but was unable to raise the funding.
Jeff Maggioncalda, the CEO of online learning platform Coursera, told Yahoo Finance that students have also been exposed to more flexible and affordable tools for learning that have emerged during the COVID outbreak. He also noted that while college is down in the U.S., enrollment is up in countries like India and those in Latin America.
Bay View Analytics, the research company, told The New York Times that prior to the COVID-19 lockdowns, about 1/3 of higher education was done entirely online. The outbreak and subsequent lockdowns spurred growth in the field as universities turned to online classes. Researchers said they are still trying to determine what worked and what didn’t during the time.

It’s a condition not easily remedied, and one from which some—and society at large—may never fully recover (because these damaged children will pass their emotional shortcomings to their own children).

These highly touted institutions that peddle worthless and vain philosophies and wisdom are coming to naught, nothing, as the King James Bible says that it will.
There was a time – now regarded as a legend and folklore of sorts (!) – when getting a college education meant something and was, for the most part, actually worth the time and money. But “education” in the United States has been one of the absolute most embarrassing things about this country for a very long time. The stupidity is a sight to behold! There are absolutely zero reasons why anyone should be going to, or have gone to, a university in the modern era. You will be indebted for most if not the entirety of your life if you do just on student loans alone.
Though there was an expected drop in admissions because of the prices simply just being utterly asinine, and because of the lockdowns; I for one am pleased to see these stupid places lose their money and inevitably crumble: they are a major source of the evil in this country.

Yes they are a major source of evil in this country, both the secular ones and the so-called christian ones (seminaries and Bible colleges) as well!
The Chinese communist party (CCP) has infiltrated the universities across America. Whether it’s a university in California, Texas, Florida, Pennsylvania, Virginia, Illinois, Nevada, Louisiana, or New York, China has sunk its communist and atheist fangs into what was once regarded as higher education, and it’s been that way long before we were born, too.
I can’t wait to see Harvard, Yale, Princeton, Baylor, University of Texas, California, Southern Florida, and so on become ruined, defunct, and abandoned nesting grounds for the owls and the sparrows.
And the same goes for Global university and Olivet Nazarene University will become crumbled ruins.
Added bonus: no more college football and all the foolishness and trappings that go along with it.

I’d rather stare at an ant farm for 10 hours than watch football of any kind. And when there’s a talent scout for the NFL, you know that eventually they have to sell their souls to the devil in order to make it big. Illuminati controls the sports and the Jesuits too, more specifically I think the Knights of Malta or the Knights of Columbus, those Vatican knights are behind a lot of the sports.
The seminaries and bible colleges are even worse. They are the places people go to be inseminated with the theology of the day, although they don’t understand that before going. They just know that they will not be able to be a pastor or minister in any of the theological institutions we call churches without the required almighty degree in Divinity. What they end up learning is man’s interpretation of the bible instead of the bible itself.
All the years I’ve wasted in community college. All the years I’ve wasted in Phi Theta Kappa just because I had a strong consecutive GPA for a few semesters and BAM! I became part of their exclusive little club.
I was a security guard during my most backslidden and lost part of my life and I was depressed and isolated. I actually thought going back to Phi Theta Kappa was the answer, stupid me! I even went to the 100th anniversary ceremony gathering in Kansas City, Missouri. None of that satisfied, it is all as the Apostle Paul called it: DUNG!
I need the King James Bible and true believers and to repent every day and pray because believe me, I struggle like nobody else and I fall too.
