Many Xcel customers took to social media to confer and complain about similar experiences, with some users reporting their temperature was locked in at 88 degrees.
Xcel confirmed with ABC 7 Denver that this was done intentionally to the 22,000 customers who had signed up for the Colorado AC Rewards program.
It’s a voluntary program. Let’s remember that this is something that customers choose to be a part of based on the incentives.
So, it helps everybody for people to participate in these programs. It is a bit uncomfortable for a short period of time, but it’s very, very helpful.
Emmett Romine, vice president of customer solutions and innovation at Xcel, said
ABC 7 noted, ‘customers receive a $100 credit for enrolling in the program and $25 annually, but Romine said customers also agree to give up some control to save energy and money and make the system more reliable.’

I’m not taking sides with the power company, but hey: these people signed up for it, they signed off on it, so if the company wants to do these absurd kinds of manipulation, they are obliged to do so. Read the fine print.
This is yet another reason why you need to scrap the smart meters and stay far away from them, and all this other smart garbage. If you do have one, switch off of it, and disregard the company’s persuasion tactics.

We have duke energy and every single week or 2 they send a letter about switching to “smartchoice clean energy” and even try to bait us with a $100 gift card if we switch it over. I throw it in the garbage every time.
P.S. Also now my wife has the “CDC” calling her on a daily basis asking about vaxsinnation status. They are going to come after us unvaxxed people harder than they did in the past probably.

We were discussing this, & how many things in the past were eased in, & finally became mandatory, by making their encroachments on an ‘opt-in’ or opt-out’ basis. The real estate market is being artificially manipulated to keep many buyers out, much ‘cash only’ and so forth….which means only wealthy cronies …and internationals, corporations etc….are increasingly able to purchase homes. They make the terms to ‘qualify’ for loans etc ridiculous, & the inspections are impossible to meet for most regular sellers.

I realize cash purchase is wisest, but few can manage that since the economy is ‘managed’, too. Call it excuse-making if you want: those are the realities of socialist elite-run economies, and Christian people will have to be extremely knowledgeable & inventive to work around all of that, as independent of government as possible….willing to sacrifice bigtime, & to carry their weaker brethren in Christian love. The widows indeed, orphans, the sick, elderly, etc. Coarsened consciences & the loss of natural affection wrapped in Christian terminology won’t cut it, requires faith & the grace of God.

All of it self-righteously & piously promoted to ‘save the earth’, while they rape the land & the people….and who will know the truth once they totally control the internet, the smart thermostats, the unreliable & trouble-ridden, high cost upfront, high maintenance electric cars. Folks will be too busy surviving, and unable to get far enough from home to know that it’s any different elsewhere or from what they’re told.
I read that the average person can withstand up to 86 F regarding heat. So the fact that they locked it to 88 is insane.
The nation has been having well over 90-100 degrees all over the country for a long while, including elsewhere. The media is taking a partial truth and propagandizing it, getting people to overreact to fairly normal temperatures. People live in 100 degree just fine, and have done so thousands of years.
