Since learning about the ordeal, Speaker of the House Nancy Pelosi has ordered the Nation’s flags be flown at half staff to honor Walorski’s death.
Congresswoman Walorski served Indiana’s 2nd District since 2013. In all of her elections she has won by narrow margins, though never succeeded in winning St. Joseph County, according to The South Bend Tribune.
‘Elkhart County police are still investigating the crash. The driver of the northbound car was identified Wednesday afternoon as Edith Schmucker, 56, of Nappanee, and she was pronounced dead at the scene,’ the South Bend Tribune added.
In a separate article, the South Bend Tribute tabulated a handful of different politicians closely associated with Walorski, and across the state.
Jackie Walorski was a tireless advocate for the Hoosiers she represented and a kind friend to everyone she met. She faithfully served her constituents and her Lord and Savior, and I trust she is now wrapped in the arms of Christ. This is a devastating loss, and we grieve for her two staff members – Zach and Emma – who had their whole lives ahead of them. I desire repentance and salvation and the King James Bible, the seeds were being planted since 2012 thanks to Bryan Denlinger even though I was still messing around in sin, but I didn’t reject it. 2020 was when the line in the sand was drawn for me, it was time to awake to righteousness.
