Residents, government officials, and police in Akron, Ohio, and potentially other places across the state; are bracing for growing protests, as footage of a black man being shot and killed multiple times after fleeing from the scene of a traffic stop, is soon to be released.
Demonstrators have already been gathering for several days already, but protests are expected to grow and intensify once the police footage is released to the public, with the city already canceling 4th of July celebrations.
Some protestors have chanted, “No justice, no peace, prosecute the police.”
Pastors have already joined with the protestors demanding justice.
3 News, a local new outlet based in Akron, sat down with the parents of the 25-year-old victim
I’m just profoundly sad. I have never been so sad in my life and I wouldn’t wish this feeling on anybody.
The mother, Pamela Walker, said
USA Today provides more context to the story:
Bobby DiCello, an attorney representing Walker’s family, shared details of the video before its release, saying he hopes it will help the community prepare for what it will show.
DiCello told the Beacon Journal he’s worried about how people may react to the footage that he said shows police firing dozens of shots, shooting Walker in the face, abdomen, arms and legs as he tried to run away.
DiCello said the shooting was an “unbelievable scene” that left Walker’s body “just riddled with bullets.”
This is going to be a brutal video. It’s going to stir up some passion. It’s going to make people uneasy.
DiCello said
The Akron Police Department said Walker refused to stop the vehicle and fled as officers attempted to pull him over early Monday morning. Walker then jumped out of his rolling vehicle and created a “deadly threat,” leading officers to use stun guns and then firearms, police said.
Police say Walker fired a shot at officers during the police chase.
Mylett did not provide additional details on how many officers fired shots or how many shots were fired.
Traffic camera footage obtained by the Beacon Journal shows 10 cruisers following Walker at one point during the chase.
Walker died from multiple gunshot wounds, according to the Summit County Medical Examiner’s Office, which ruled the death a homicide.
Walker was found lying on his back while in handcuffs when a medical examiner arrived at the scene, according to an investigative worksheet for the case shown to the Beacon Journal at the medical examiner’s office. Walked had been shot in the face, abdomen and upper legs, the report said, adding that a weapon was recovered from his vehicle.

Better is the end of a thing than the beginning thereof: and the patient in spirit is better than the proud in spirit.
Ecclesiastes 7:8
I was going to post Proverbs 11:10-11 exclusively, but I think it better to be patient and see what comes out of this, and let the release of the evidence transpire.
[10] When it goeth well with the righteous, the city rejoiceth: and when the wicked perish, there is shouting. [11] By the blessing of the upright the city is exalted: but it is overthrown by the mouth of the wicked.Proverbs 11:10-11 – the passage I was only going to post, but I am sure not if this is a ‘verse 10 situation’
Whatever the case maybe, we’ll have to see what happens with this, but this has the early makings of Black Lives Matter (BLM) and Antifa destruction and anarchy in the streets, seeing as how city officials are already moving in heavy equipment to stop any large surges.
If you are like me, I expected a lot more chaos to occur sooner after the Roe Vs. Wade debacle was announced a week ago, but it has not happened on the scale I thought would happen sooner. Perhaps the media is trying to create another reason for people to fight each other, and destroy small business and the remaining middle class families.
[7] Who goeth a warfare any time at his own charges? who planteth a vineyard, and eateth not of the fruit thereof? or who feedeth a flock, and eateth not of the milk of the flock? [8] Say I these things as a man? or saith not the law the same also? [9] For it is written in the law of Moses, Thou shalt not muzzle the mouth of the ox that treadeth out the corn. Doth God take care for oxen? [10] Or saith he it altogether for our sakes? For our sakes, no doubt, this is written: that he that ploweth should plow in hope; and that he that thresheth in hope should be partaker of his hope. (1 Corinthians 9:7-10).

I need to go to academy and get myself a hunting rifle or a pistol ASAP! Pray that it happens easily!
Indiana and Texas as well as most of the south and maybe some parts where there’s a lot of hunting are tremendous places.
California at least allows you to have a handgun.
I used to live around near that area. It’s nothing but a cesspool.
When I was young & stupid, I lived in Canton. It breaks my heart to drive up there now, after they offshored all the jobs & the politics went crony commie/fascist suck the money out & white collar welfare, the drugs swept in…..middle class targeting opioids last, it went downhill fast. Those responsible in their upclass neighborhoods, uncaring & thinking it would never touch them are next.

I was never afraid up there in the mid-80’s into the ’90’s. Now those neighborhoods look third world, & the safest time to be out & about is mid-morning before the hoods wake up & after the last of them have had their breakfast & made it home. And, Akron has been avoided for even longer.

But I’d say that either there is more to this story, & this guy had a record, or brandished a gun….or such a brutal, over-reaction to a traffic violation is a set-up and Ohio is the next Wisconsin. The lawless like to export their planned mayhem & need cronies to set up excuses for it. Wisconsin has Illinois & Chicago. We have PA.

And, then, they changed their police training, too, about a decade or so ago, to a sort of ‘Dark Knight’ whatever-it-takes, us-against-them soldier mentality rather than peace officers & equal free citizens treating one another with respect. Makes me think of the Templars historically. The older men were having a hardtime with the younger coming in: couldn’t relate, had to tone them down. And the ones we met tended to be disrespectful porn addicts, too. All wrapped up in a squeaky clean exterior, parents beware.

Couple that attitude with the arrogant & unthankful ‘we’re entitled (to more than freedom)’ and ‘we’ve been wronged’ …..2 Peter 2-3 licentiousness being taught rather than John 8 freedom indeed, & restrained at that, Romans 14, 1 Corinthians 8 etc….and you have a powder keg situation.
Bodycam video link. The guy fled the traffic stop & started firing at police from his car, entering Route 8 southbound from the E. Tallmadge onramp, getting off downtown & driving around trying to evade pursuit. Almost looks like suicide by cop. https://youtu.be/x68evqZTzJM
