And for the first time, a woman took the oath as commandant of the Coast Guard, as Adm. Karl L. Schultz was relieved by Adm. Linda Fagan.
In doing so, Fagan became the first female officer to lead a branch of the American armed forces.
This is a big deal. It’s about time.
Biden said at Coast Guard headquarters in Washington
The president said that when Secretary of Defense Lloyd Austin first told him of Fagan’s selection, he replied: “What in the hell took you so long?”
Fagan graduated from the Coast Guard Academy in 1985 in what was just the sixth class that included women.
Biden commended Fagan on her decades of service, during which she served on all seven continents, beginning as an icebreaker and rising through the ranks to become second in command.
She has demonstrated exceptional skill, integrity and commitment to our country. There’s no one more qualified to lead the proud women and men of the Coast Guard.
Biden said
Her ascendance to the top Coast Guard post, the president added, shows to young people that there are “no doors closed to women.”
Fagan is the 27th commandant of the service — and first woman.
We’re getting past the ‘firsts.’ I hope sometime soon we’re talking about the second female commandant, and the third female commandant, and that we’ll have a Black male commandant.
We, as a service, need to reflect the society that we serve, and creating opportunity for everyone in the service is important.
Fagan told the New York Times earlier this week.

The US Military has deteriorated into a cesspool of wickedness and corruption! The moral of these troops is below the freezing point-once they graduate basic training or become green berets, they drink in excess of go to strip clubs (not all of them but it’s popular amongst some)

my hubby and I just celebrated 22 years of marriage last week, he is my best friend, we dated for 15 months and in that whole time I think we have had 3 arguments. I remember when I was under conviction and I ended up listening to a southern gospel song called ‘We Want America Back’…from those who have no self-control (works!) etc. I had no idea of the complexities of the false professing church….even the ‘conservative’ ones, but I knew I could not be my own God, was broken in the mess of my last self-salvation plan, & had already prayed accordingly. I told God that I couldn’t be my own saviour, no matter what the ‘counselors’ and such were telling me (and watching their lives: realized that neither could THEY).

That song actually brought me to the end of my resistance & doubt, lack of trust due to long personal failing & experienced betrayal, violated trust. I actually prayed again to the God I told myself I wasn’t sure I believed in….., but Lord, I don’t want to be one of those self-righteous people….and all I got back was ‘yes, but it’s about me, not them’…..I submitted & the Lord saved me.

Much of my confusion leading me into sin & keeping me from Christ was from the religious world that I perceived as ‘Christian’ appealing to my flesh for ends & nicolaitan lording over others rather than toward scriptural ends & fellowship in the body……and, then, in that world & deceived by pentacostal flavored and ‘conservative’ evangelicalism.

It took growth & maturity, with many trials, & coming to the hated and despised King James onlyism position….getting ‘loved out the door’ as a so-called ‘pillar holding up progress’, or a ‘cater-pillar creeping in the door & out the door, but never submitting to DO anything (interpret that as refusing to submit to the nicolaitan gurus of social justice globalist one-worlder, any Bible ecumenical new Romanism blindly and as a slave submitting to the masters) to come to a firm and solid stand upon the Rock and word of God, able to stand alone & apart from the following of men with their philosophies & traditions.

And, yes, all of those trials came as a result of some ‘hook’ or sin remaining in my flesh as written in James, or in my husband’s, as the yoke is truly shared ….but Romans 8 is just as true, the Lord is faithful, & he knows the attitude of our hearts, & knows his own….knowing even those who will in time come to him, as he knows the beginning from the end.

To anyone reading this, tempted to despair….or saved & doubting your salvation, I would say to you: Don’t try to ‘fix yourself up’ before coming to him if you are under conviction & called to salvation….just trust him & come, acknowledging sin, need & inability to self-justify or earn salvation without or apart from Christ’s finished work received in your behalf, and continue in the word. And if doubting, halting in some sin or temptation as one of the Lord’s truly redeemed…..that you give up the misery & immerse yourself in the convicting word.

The quickening Spirit and power of God through that word and prayer will do the rest as you submit to him first, and according to the scriptures: not according to men unless their leading is proven by that same word & testifying, manifesting experience demonstrating their own allegiance. Freedom indeed.
And I worded that clumsily…..in general women were created to be helps meet to men, but in particular and one by one, we’re to be helps meet to ONE man. Either our father insofar as what they ask of us is not wicked scripturally defined, or for the married, to our husband.

When I was in ROTC, every single woman that was put in charge was incompetent, all of them. They’d either take things too far or they would just be too meek to lead, it was one or the other. I thought it was just a military program issue, but the same thing happened when I worked at secular jobs.
In short, there’s a very good reason why God wants women to be helpmeets to men- It’s because that’s what He designed them to be. Ever noticed in old 1950’s America, women worked as secretaries, seamstress, maids, and cooks? That’s because they’re exceptionally well when it comes to assisting and housework. I am in no means excusing my Sisters in Christ to go out and get a job, but I just want you to be aware of the natural gifts that God has given you.
