“It’s a win for every Bostonian who’s done their part to keep our communities safe, and we have to keep going. I want to thank all of our small businesses who have been working to keep our communities healthy through challenging times.”

The following report is from Boston.com:

Effectively immediately, patrons and staff at Boston’s restaurants, bars, clubs, gyms and indoor venues no longer have to show proof of COVID-19 vaccination, Mayor Wu announced Friday evening.

Wu’s announcement comes as public health data shows Boston has a 4 percent community positivity rate, a 90.7% adult ICU bed occupancy rate; and a week-long average of adult COVID-19 hospitalizations at 196 per day. All three conditions fall below thresholds previously set by the city’s B Together campaign.

The public health data shows that we’re ready to take this step in our recovery.

This news highlights how much progress we’ve made in our fight against COVID-19 thanks to vaccines & boosters — which have always been our most effective weapon against the pandemic.

It’s a win for every Bostonian who’s done their part to keep our communities safe, and we have to keep going. I want to thank all of our small businesses who have been working to keep our communities healthy through challenging times.

Mayor Wu said in a press release sent just before 6 p.m. Friday.

Masks are still required in indoor public spaces. Wu said city health officials will review the mask order in the coming days.

The COVID-19 vaccine mandate was met with mixed reactions after going into effect on Jan. 15; the first phase required anyone age 12 and older to show proof of at least one dose to enter indoor businesses. The second phase went into effect on Feb. 15, and required proof of full vaccination.

Wu grappled with backlash as soon as the mandate went into effect, and tweeted about early-morning protesters outside her home. Wu’s announcement Friday was mostly met with approval by her Twitter followers.

Thank you for watching out for us. I’m fully vaccinated and boosted but I have a chronic illness that, if I somehow got this thing, could definitely put me on the slab. Appreciate you following the science.

As for my people, children are their oppressors, and women rule over them. O my people, they which lead thee cause thee to err, and destroy the way of thy paths.

Isaiah 3:12

No, you ditsy princess, it is a not “a win for Bostonians.” The amount of livelihoods that have been destroyed because of you and your administration will not be reversible. Of course, I will say, the people got what they wanted: they should have stood up against this from day one; but when you let tyrants and the media be your god, do not be surprised if their axe comes down on your head.

But beyond this, I still maintain the belief that the “Covid War” is NOT coming to an end by Springtime. If it does, then it will either be short-lived, or the media will switch to a new “pandemic” and other fear-based trigger events.

At the end of the day, Boston was already a broken down decrepit city in 2019, and now, like all major U.S. cities, they are wastelands and ghettos.

[7] Who goeth a warfare any time at his own charges? who planteth a vineyard, and eateth not of the fruit thereof? or who feedeth a flock, and eateth not of the milk of the flock? [8] Say I these things as a man? or saith not the law the same also? [9] For it is written in the law of Moses, Thou shalt not muzzle the mouth of the ox that treadeth out the corn. Doth God take care for oxen? [10] Or saith he it altogether for our sakes? For our sakes, no doubt, this is written: that he that ploweth should plow in hope; and that he that thresheth in hope should be partaker of his hope. (1 Corinthians 9:7-10).

  • To people who want the restrictions lifted, they said it is the step in the right direction. I see that this will be a gradual lifting of restrictions. The restrictions are still being shuffled around, but not as frequent as far as I know, because the whole COVID-19 pandemic show is almost over.
