“There is nothing more American than coming together to ensure that we are taking care of each other, that each and every one of our community members is safe, is healthy, and has access to the future and the opportunities they deserve.”

On Monday, Mayor Michelle Wu announced what her administration is calling “The B-Together” plan, which requires proof of vaccination for indoor dining, event venues, indoor gyms, and other entertainment and recreational venues.

This mandate will go into effect on January 15th. By February 15th a second shot must be accomplished for all patrons and workers. City workers must also get vaccinated along the same timeline, and weekly testing is not an option.

This includes everyone 12 and up, and those aged 5-11 must begin showing proof of vaccination in May.

‘Verification can be done by showing a vaccine card, a digital picture of a vaccine card, a picture of any official immunization record, a city-designated app, or any other COVID vaccine verification app,’ said WBZ CBS 4.

It would be a quick glance at an app, or a card, or a photo of your card. We are setting clear standards that will provide straightforward guidance for businesses.

This is just one step in an aggressive approach that the city has already been working hard to implement, and will continue to ramp up in the coming days and weeks.

Mayor Wu said

The city has begun releasing webinars for small businesses and how they must comply.

When the announcement was made, protestors made their voices known. But Wu responded to critics with:

There is nothing more American than coming together to ensure that we are taking care of each other, that each and every one of our community members is safe, is healthy, and has access to the future and the opportunities they deserve.

This is really going to hurt consumer confidence in all and I think it’s going to be really tough for small business. The logistics around auditing vaccinations. Are they real? Are they fake? Did the guests forget one? Do we take them at their word if they say they got one? The logistics around this are going to be really challenging.

Chris Coombs, the owner of Deuxave restaurant in Boston’s Back Bay.

Others support the move:

It really takes the onus off of us. Vaccine checks have been going very smoothly. Our audiences are very appreciative of all of the protocols that we have put in place.

Temple Gill, spokesperson for the Huntington Theatre Company in the South End; who has been requiring vaccinations since its August reopening

Other communities are planning to follow in Boston’s footsteps, including Somerville, Cambridge, Arlington, Medford, Brookline and Salem,’ the Boston-based outlet reported.

AUTHOR COMMENTARY

Do not speak to us about what is “American,” as you overthrow the constitution by your draconian mandates, and force people to practically lose everything now without even taking it to a vote from the people. That’s called taxation without representation. But the politicians in America from sea to shining sea have been using the constitution as toilet paper for longtime now.

Needless to say, get out of Boston, and all these other major cities. Cities in general, but harsh judgment has come, and the Lord is allowing it to happen because the people want it.

[12] Wherefore thus saith the Holy One of Israel, Because ye despise this word, and trust in oppression and perverseness, and stay thereon: [13] Therefore this iniquity shall be to you as a breach ready to fall, swelling out in a high wall, whose breaking cometh suddenly at an instant. [14] And he shall break it as the breaking of the potters’ vessel that is broken in pieces; he shall not spare: so that there shall not be found in the bursting of it a sherd to take fire from the hearth, or to take water withal out of the pit.

Isaiah 30:12-14

To the same token, the death shot is going to continue to rack up the numbers this winter, so it will be interesting to see how much of a strain is placed on the system.

[7] Who goeth a warfare any time at his own charges? who planteth a vineyard, and eateth not of the fruit thereof? or who feedeth a flock, and eateth not of the milk of the flock? [8] Say I these things as a man? or saith not the law the same also? [9] For it is written in the law of Moses, Thou shalt not muzzle the mouth of the ox that treadeth out the corn. Doth God take care for oxen? [10] Or saith he it altogether for our sakes? For our sakes, no doubt, this is written: that he that ploweth should plow in hope; and that he that thresheth in hope should be partaker of his hope. (1 Corinthians 9:7-10).
