Besides Amazon, other platforms like Google, cash apps, Verizon, and more, were effected.

Yet another ‘outage’ has taken down a large web and tech service provider, and arguably, this is probably the largest thus far in hindsight.

On December 7th, some of Amazon Web Services cloud servers were not working properly, causing slow loading times and large chunks of the internet to fail, as described by The Verge. People began to notice these glitches approximately around 10:45AM ET.

Though some of the technical errors were fixed, the main problems resided with the apps Amazon staffers use. The apps used by Amazon warehouse and delivery drivers went offline or not properly working.

Besides Amazon itself having issues, their other services like Alexa or Kindle were not functioning properly. Even the security camera-doorbells Ring were having issues.

Ultimately, a slew of major brands and companies were reporting issues, including:

  • Google
  • Zoom
  • Cash App
  • SnapChat
  • Capital One
  • McDonalds
  • Verizon
  • Reddit
  • Coinbase
  • Roku
  • Social Security Administration
  • Coinbase
  • Netflix
  • And more…

“[11:26 AM PST] We are seeing impact to multiple AWS APIs in the US-EAST-1 Region. This issue is also affecting some of our monitoring and incident response tooling, which is delaying our ability to provide updates. Services impacted include: EC2, Connect, DynamoDB, Glue, Athena, Timestream, and Chime and other AWS Services in US-EAST-1.

The root cause of this issue is an impairment of several network devices in the US-EAST-1 Region. We are pursuing multiple mitigation paths in parallel, and have seen some signs of recovery, but we do not have an ETA for full recovery at this time. Root logins for consoles in all AWS regions are affected by this issue, however customers can login to consoles other than US-EAST-1 by using an IAM role for authentication.

The state of Virginia is the sight of where AWS servers are located for some of the Eastern regions of the U.S.

AUTHOR COMMENTARY

By faith Noah, being warned of God of things not seen as yet, moved with fear, prepared an ark to the saving of his house; by the which he condemned the world, and became heir of the righteousness which is by faith.

Hebrews 11:7

These artificial and planned “glitches” are starting to ramp up to even greater and greater services and companies now, with AWS being the internet juggernaut for service providers.

For those that are not caught up to speed, The WP has been long warning that planned “cyber attacks, hacks, glitches, solar flares” are being used to not only create frustration and delays in the system, but to prep the masses for much more massive and defoliating breakdowns of the grid and internet – so a new one can be ushered in amidst the panic. You can read some of the evidence for that below.

So, be advised now: whether fake or real, you need to prepare yourself for these “glitches.” Do not keep extra money in the banks, make sure you have plenty of clean food and water, ways to keep warm, and so on. Now with shipping being directly targeted some more, more are going to get antsy to get their packages in on time, causing more demand for upgrades to the system.

[7] Who goeth a warfare any time at his own charges? who planteth a vineyard, and eateth not of the fruit thereof? or who feedeth a flock, and eateth not of the milk of the flock? [8] Say I these things as a man? or saith not the law the same also? [9] For it is written in the law of Moses, Thou shalt not muzzle the mouth of the ox that treadeth out the corn. Doth God take care for oxen? [10] Or saith he it altogether for our sakes? For our sakes, no doubt, this is written: that he that ploweth should plow in hope; and that he that thresheth in hope should be partaker of his hope. (1 Corinthians 9:7-10).
