Today the Food and Drug Administration (FDA) finally gave their anticipated and hyped clearance to allow Covid vaccination among young children aged 5-11.

This will roughly affect 28 million children in the United States.

The vaccine will be the one provided by Pfizer, with others to follow suit eventually.

As a mother and a physician, I know that parents, caregivers, school staff, and children have been waiting for today’s authorization. Vaccinating younger children against COVID-19 will bring us closer to returning to a sense of normalcy.

Janet Woodcock, Acting FDA commissioner said in a statement

All that is now needed is the CDC’s approval, and for its director Rochelle Walensky to sign-off on it as well. This meeting is to occur on November 2nd.

‘That means kids could begin getting shots at some point next week and become fully vaccinated by December,’ according to ABC.

A little over a week ago the Biden Administration gave an overview of what this new wave of vaccine rollout would look like. View that report for more details:

[1] Then said he unto the disciples, It is impossible but that offences will come: but woe unto him, through whom they come! [2] It were better for him that a millstone were hanged about his neck, and he cast into the sea, than that he should offend one of these little ones.

Luke 17:1-2
