“Reducing the risk of adverse medical consequences for a high-risk segment of the population is essential to achieving the public health objective of the vaccine mandate. A religious exemption would not address a risk associated with the vaccine mandate’s central objectives.”

Hopes that a handful of Maine healthcare worker’s lawsuit against vaccine mandates that could force their termination from their positions, have been dashed as the Supreme Court has decided to deny their pleas.

In August, nine healthcare workers from the U.S. state of Maine sued the state demanding religious exemptions be added to Governor Janet Mills’ mandate for healthcare workers.

Central Maine news explains that, ‘Last week, federal judges in the U.S. District Court of Maine and the 1st U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals in Boston both declined to stop the mandate from taking effect while the lawsuit is heard.’

The plaintiffs in this case then turned to the Supreme Court for intervention, but the application was denied yesterday by Associate Justice Stephen Breyer.

Mills’ said the mandate would be enforced by the end of October, where healthcare workers would need to be vaccinated by Friday, the 22nd, to meet the compliance deadline.

However, this does not mean the other aforementioned courts are over and out. Moreover, once they issue a ruling, the plaintiffs could try again to reach out to the Supreme Court based on the ruling, or if the appeals court does not give an official judgment by the 29th.

This case was the first time the Supreme Court addressed a vaccine mandate affecting an entire state. Other smaller applications and cases were shot down related to vaccine mandates previously, such as Indiana University staff and students or New York teachers looking for exemption.

Marc Malon, a spokesman for the Maine Attorney General’s Office did not have much to comment.

Justice Breyer’s decision speaks for itself. The case remains in the 1st Circuit.

A conservative group, Liberty group, who is representing the healthcare workers filing a lawsuit – says the Supreme Court’s decision still “leaves the door open” for the healthcare workers.

We are pleased that the Supreme Court is ready to consider this case if we do not get relief at the 1st Circuit Court of Appeals or if the lower court does not rule by October 29th. As of Monday, our case is now fully briefed at the court of appeals. We look forward to an expedited ruling. There is no question that Gov. Janet Mills cannot nullify federal law and the First Amendment to the U.S. Constitution.

Mat Staver, the founder and chairman, said in the release

Liberty Group contends that these healthcare worker’s reason for exemption is based on scripture, and refusal any medicine or treatment that involves fetal tissue use whatsoever. They argue that Maine offers medical exemptions, so they should offer a religious one too, noting that these mandates treat those who want religious exemption less fairly.

‘The state argued that the two types of exemptions aren’t comparable and shouldn’t be viewed in the same way under the law. Maine stopped accepting religious and philosophical exemptions to all mandatory vaccines in order to protect people who could not get those shots because of their medical conditions. The Attorney General’s Office said that reasoning still applies during the COVID-19 pandemic,’ said the report.

Reducing the risk of adverse medical consequences for a high-risk segment of the population is essential to achieving the public health objective of the vaccine mandate. A religious exemption would not address a risk associated with the vaccine mandate’s central objectives.

U.S. District Judge Jon Levy said when he issued his order

And as The WinePress has noted previously, the vaccine mandate issued by President Joe Biden legally does not exist as of yet, as it only “issued” via the media.

AUTHOR COMMENTARY

If thou seest the oppression of the poor, and violent perverting of judgment and justice in a province, marvel not at the matter: for he that is higher than the highest regardeth; and there be higher than they.

Ecclesiastes 5:8

Much food is in the tillage of the poor: but there is that is destroyed for want of judgment.

Proverbs 13:23

I am not surprised by this one bit, and you should not be either. There is not going to be any “love” or “compassion” for these people. The politicians and the courts are all bought and paid for. They are not going to uphold actual righteous judgment – something I have documented in other reports this year alone.

A wicked man taketh a gift out of the bosom to pervert the ways of judgment.

Proverbs 17:23

There is no justice in this land anymore, and has not been true judgment for some time. And even then, the paradigm here is quite curious: the medical establishment is corrupt and useless already, and now we have workers within the corrupt system, who, many of whom are administering corrupt, inefficient, and harmful practices themselves. Man ‘o man the predicament!

To the born again believer who is facing termination: to each’s own on what you want to do by seeking for a religious exemption, but I honestly do not think you’ll get it. You will have to remain bold as a lion (Proverbs 28:1), and make them fire you. Remember: the Lord WILL provide. Have faith and trust in him.

[5] Let your conversation be without covetousness; and be content with such things as ye have: for he hath said, I will never leave thee, nor forsake thee. [6] So that we may boldly say, The Lord is my helper, and I will not fear what man shall do unto me.

Hebrews 13:5-6

[7] Who goeth a warfare any time at his own charges? who planteth a vineyard, and eateth not of the fruit thereof? or who feedeth a flock, and eateth not of the milk of the flock? [8] Say I these things as a man? or saith not the law the same also? [9] For it is written in the law of Moses, Thou shalt not muzzle the mouth of the ox that treadeth out the corn. Doth God take care for oxen? [10] Or saith he it altogether for our sakes? For our sakes, no doubt, this is written: that he that ploweth should plow in hope; and that he that thresheth in hope should be partaker of his hope. (1 Corinthians 9:7-10).

  • I knew that the Supreme Court will rule in favor of the mandate. There is actually history where the Supreme court rules in the State’s favor. This is not a surprise.

  • I wonder when Texas is going to get this way and enforce the vaccines. Greg Abbott has blocked the vaccine mandate (that doesn’t even exist, lol), but it’s only a matter of time. My guess is when the massive die-off starts, Greg is gonna go back on his word. The same applies to every other governor that supposedly “fights” against it.

    • True. Some people will at first try to fight it, but they gave in. We are seeing compromise. There are pastors, especially independent fundamental baptist pastors that compromise their stances. The best thing to do now is to judge yourself and self examine.

    • These “leaders” are not saved, Bible believers. At worst, they are fanatical Catholics whose only allegiance is to the pope……who is pushing for these vaccines. And they do not care how many of their own faithful Catholics they have to kill to get to the rest of us……Blacks, Jews, and Heretic King James Bible Believers. Greg Abbott is, I believe, a Roman Catholic, and I would not trust him to do the right thing…….or he will get “Kennedy’d” and I am sure he knows it. Unless he is part of the Neo-fascists Right….. and you might get off the vaccine hook……but maybe not the guillotine or gulag hook. “The tender mercies of the wicked are cruel….” is the best bible verse I know of to describe these monsters.

  • As brother Bryan preached according to scripture, we are not guaranteed a smooth ride as saved Christians. And as brother Jacob said according to scripture, faith and trust in the Lord, and without slothfulness in preparing accordingly. Fervent prayers that more of lost masses may wake up and resist, either way, we submit to the word of God and his counsel and command to leave the cities, and take it from there. Telling myself this as well.

    2 Corinthians 11:23-27
23 Are they ministers of Christ? (I speak as a fool) I am more; in labours more abundant, in stripes above measure, in prisons more frequent, in deaths oft. 24 Of the Jews five times received I forty stripes save one. 25 Thrice was I beaten with rods, once was I stoned, thrice I suffered shipwreck, a night and a day I have been in the deep; 26 in journeyings often, in perils of waters, in perils of robbers, in perils by mine own countrymen, in perils by the heathen, in perils in the city, in perils in the wilderness, in perils in the sea, in perils among false brethren; 27 in weariness and painfulness, in watchings often, in hunger and thirst, in fastings often, in cold and nakedness.

  • I’d you’re a healthcare worker, doctor, nurse, paramedic, physical/occupational therapist, radiology technician, etc., get out and be fired as a witness or testimony, three pieces of advice: get out, get out, get out!

  • Brother Bryan preached as the bible teaches, that we as saved Christians aren’t guaranteed a smooth ride in this world. As brother Jacob said, faith and trust in the Lord according to scripture. Fervent prayers that more of the lost masses will wake up and resist. Either way, the Lord’s counsel and command is for us to leave the cities. I tell myself this as well. It won’t be easy, but we can bear it through the Lord.

    2 Corinthians 11:24-27
24 Of the Jews five times received I forty stripes save one. 25 Thrice was I beaten with rods, once was I stoned, thrice I suffered shipwreck, a night and a day I have been in the deep; 26 in journeyings often, in perils of waters, in perils of robbers, in perils by mine own countrymen, in perils by the heathen, in perils in the city, in perils in the wilderness, in perils in the sea, in perils among false brethren; 27 in weariness and painfulness, in watchings often, in hunger and thirst, in fastings often, in cold and nakedness.
